Applause

Post by Xyon_of_Calhoun » Fri Jun 15, 2007 2:23 am

I just read your last post in Spoils to the Victors (Downtown and business district, Marn). I'm actually lost for words to describe how good it is, which considering I'm a fantasy writer and RANDOM SPAMMER doesn't happen very often.

Amazing. Just wanted to express appreciation.

I'll go now.

Thanks! I really appreciate hearing that. Everyone here is so good, it always inspires me to do my best.

And for all the people who aren't following our storyline because it's too big or gets updated too fast...see what you're missing. :P

This is actually a very cool idea. Maybe we could start a general Applause topic for positive comments about posts that impress us? The monthly contest allows us to talk about some stuff, but this could be more immediate and freeform.

Julen can have my babies if she ever wants them...

That whole scene just wowed me from the get go. That shows so much about Julen's personality, his development, his relationships with the other characters, his attitudes, his objectives in life. And so on and so on. It is the perfect light to show the character in.

Shows a deeper meaning about not waiting to be asked for help. Involves the reader. The descriptions of the helpless vagrants personalises them.

My thought when I read this was "no wonder she is a published author." Really, I thought I was good, that amazed me.

Possibly the most engaging scene that I have ever read. Seriously.

Truly inspiring stuff.

Frug - new forum idea. (THIS ONE)

Seriously, it is writing of a quality I can't compare to an an excellent day. Even my best won't come close to that. Words alone can't describe how good it was. This is because words on their own tend not to mean too much.

So, would those babies be tadpoles?

I've given the matter great thought, and it seems that the only sensible thing for me to do is leave Thar Shaddin, since I've obviously written the ultimate post which can never again be topped. Always best to go out on a high note.

Seriously, thanks for the positive feedback. It's always nice to hear when someone likes what I've written. And let me say, with complete honesty, that I enjoy reading every single thread here, and always get excited when I see an update.

I think the bit in that post that really shows how far Julen has come is when he threatens to gut anyone he sees stealing a loaf. Can you imagine Julen, as we first met him, threatening to gut anybody? Just trying to picture it makes me crack up.

Anyway, I'm off to write my next post. And I'm going to make sure it really sucks so you people don't develop unreasonable expectations. :P
