The psychology definition and in the courtroom says insanity means you don't know you're insane. But I think some insane people know, at least in the back of their minds.

Afaik the criminal definition of insanity means you don't know right from wrong, but the medical definition of insanity is much broader. Just because you're medically insane doesn't mean you're not responsible for your actions.
I don't think they know, either. Not the truly insane.

I was just responding to Xyon's question, Kamar.
I kinda meant, yeah, knowing right from wrong. I don't think the radically insane know they're insane; take schizophrenics for example. They really believe the voices, their strange beliefs, etc. I can't imagine that.
