==Position of the Tianlong within Tian Xia==
Given the immense size of Tian Xia, were it not for the power and near-immortal longevity of the Tianlong dragon shifters, an empire so large would inevitably collapse in upon itself within a few generations. There is no question that the stewardship of the enduring dynasty of Tianlong dragons has allowed the Empire of Tian Xia to flourish.
The Emperor and Empress reside in the capital of Yulongjing,
Tianlong Shun is regent of the Xiongnu Steppes
Tianlong Qin is regent of Nanyue
Tianlong Run oversees the security of the entire western border and trade routes

==Physiological and Supernatural Traits of the Tianlong Shifters==
One Mind, One Body
* That such a powerful family can remain united in a common cause without conflict comes from an important trait: The dragons share their thoughts, like a hive mind, being inextricably linked to each other. Though they are many, they are are one.
The Heavens Are Quiet
When in human form, the golden-eyed shifters bear an aura so inhumanly serene as to inspire a kind of awe in less powerful creatures. Those affected by the aura find it difficult to hold onto aggression or rage.
The Serpent Sheds Its Scales And Is Renewed
As creatures originally of the Astral Plane, the Tianlong possess a unique biology. Tianlong aging starts in their scales, a result of exposure to the physical world (rather than their original home in the Astral Plane). The Tianlong understood the signs, and developed the ability to shed their skin like a snake. This process of shedding the tainted scales has allowed the Tianlong a form of virtual immortality. The process takes a week to complete, and in the year after shedding their new scales are soft and lack the magical robustness of matured scales. This makes the Tianlong physically vulnerable to standard weapons. As a result, the Tianlong do not advertise how they remain immortal, and are careful in how they explain their week-long absences. They only need to shed every one hundred years, and have developed secret medicinal uses for the shed scales.
==History==
The Tianlong family were originally drawn by curiosity to the Material Plane at around 365BCE. Like tourists they watched with interest the doings of the Dragon Changer Yu Di and his empire. They were fascinated by the escalation of the Changer's War and how Yu Di was able to direct the movements of so many people, and were horrified in their own peculiar way by the disorder brought about by the cataclysm.
It was curiosity too which brought about the decision to take up abode in the then-dead Changers' capital Yulongjing. At that early stage the Tianlong mostly experimented in the running of the capital city and the surrounding province, picking up the reins left in Yu Di's passing. The experiment was diverting, and the creatures of the material plane were fascinating to the Tianlong who were in no hurry to give up their current project.
Then the Seal was restored, and everything changed for the Tianlong.
