Age: 19
Race: Half Elf
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 130
Physical Description:
Vanthea's elvish traits are clearly dominant in her appearance. Her face is long and slender with pointed light blue eyes and elvish ears which, of course, are also pointed. She has a very thin body because of her elvish blood and long, very light brown hair almost to the point of being red. She wears a long red dress, normal attire for a priestess at her temple, with sleeves that are equally long and have very simple decoration at the end. She wears two small gold earrings with a red jewel in the center as well as a slightly larger red jewel on her waist. Thanks to her human blood her skin is a light peach color instead of the pale, colorless skin which some elves and half elves have.

Possessions:
Vanthea usually has a book with her that contains all of the chants and drawings of the seals she uses for her spells. She also carries a scroll which she uses to record important events and other things that she doesn't want to forget, basically a journal, and her apartment which she is renting in the city of Marn.
Powers/Strengths:
Vanthea was raised as a priestess and thus she has knowledge of how to use herbs for healing and remedies (when she can remember the right ingredients). She also knows several healing spells and exorcism spells that are performed through chanting. Although she does not know any other kinds of magic her bloodline gives her an affinity to fire magic.
Weaknesses/Flaws:
Vanthea is physically weak and so she isn't much good in a fight, she also has a very bad memory. She doesn't have an amnesia like forgetfulness but she has trouble remembering the names of people who she has not known for very long and if your name is unusually long then don't expect her to ever learn your full name. This is also a huge problem when it comes to using her magic, she sometimes gets her healing and exorcism spells mixed up or even forgets the chants all together. As mentioned above she has a fire affinity because of her bloodline, this can cause problems when she tries to use her magic without reading it right out of her book because she has been known to accidentally summon fireballs and other weaker fire spells. I'm sure you can see where that might become a problem if she were trying to heal someone or exorcise an evil spirit from someones home. Her healing spells are only limited to being used on others and her healing spells have always been weak because she leans more towards fire magic and as a result she can only heal minor wounds and illnesses.
History:
Vanthea never knew her parents, she was left at a temple in Guang Wan as an infant and left in the care of Olivia Isilithanion an elf woman who served at the temple. She stayed with Olivia and learned how to read and write and other things from her until she was 8 years old.
After turning eight she began going to school with the other young girls in the temple area who wanted to become priestesses. During this time she learned the chants for her spells that she would use in healing, exorcisms, and during rituals and ceremonies. Her elven blood helped her get the hang of using magic much quicker than most of the human students in her class but she never made it very high in position because she could not use the more potent healing or exorcism spells which were important for a priestess. She also had a problem remembering the spells she learned and even worse, would sometimes set things on fire accidentally with her magic.
When she turned 12 it was time for her to become an apprentice to another more experienced priestess and learn directly from her and begin small tasks of her own. Her master's name was Ishtar and she was a very powerful priestess though not one of the strongest. The first task assigned to them was to go to Guang Wag and help a family there who claimed that their house was haunted. After they had met the family and asked them to leave the house while they performed the exorcism, Ishtar asked Vanthea to put seals around the doors and windows of the house so that the spirit couldn't escape. Instead of putting a barrier around the home, however, Vanthea accidentally inscribed the seals with a spell that attracted spirits. Ishtar only realized this after the exorcism had started when more spirits kept showing up after she would get rid of the previous one.
Vanthea was scolded for the mistake after the incident was all over with and Ishtar bought her a book which she then required Vanthea to write all of the spells and seals she knew inside of it. Ishtar then told her to carry the book with her wherever she went until she could remember the spells and seals correctly.
At the age of 15 she was given her first real assignment along with another priest and priestess in the nearby town of Ji. Apparently the livestock and even some people had been attacked and killed by what they believed was a powerful demon and so she was accompanied by the head pries and priestess Daedalus and Zarya. This was a great honor as most priests and priestesses never got the opportunity to meet them but they wanted to see Vanthea first hand because they had heard about her dangerous habits of accidentally setting things on fire and were hoping to help her overcome that problem. Also accompanying them were two beasts called fu-dogs which were considered guardians at the temple, usually the very high class priests and priestesses had personal guardians but Vanthea's rank was to low and thus she never received one herself. The names of these two guardians were Mottahedeh who belonged to Daedalus, and Shigandang who belonged to Zarya.
After arriving in Ji they went to talk to the town's mayor who told them that the creature only attacked at night and that they could get more information by talking to certain witnesses in the town. The mayor thanked them for coming and they left to find some of the witnesses who gave them a general idea of where the demon might attack and from their descriptions they determined that they were dealing with a demon known as a magot. These demons weren't very intelligent and have no magical or psychic abilities but they were unmatched in physical strength and extremely violent.
To destroy the demon they decided to use the fu-dogs as bait to lure the demon out when it appeared and then block its escape once they began the exorcism to send the demon back to the astral plane and then seal it there so that it couldn't come back, Daedalus would create a barrier to hold it in place while Zarya sent it back to the astral plane and finally Vanthea would create the seal to prevent it from returning.
After waiting three nights for the demon to come it finally showed itself and they put their plan into actuion. First, Mottahedeh and Shigandang lured it out into a field where the others were waiting. Then Daedalus began chanting the spell to create the barrier. When the barrier was in place the fu-dogs went behind it to prevent it from escaping if something went wrong while Zarya chanted the spell to send it back to the astral plane. Finally it was Vanthea's turn, she started to chant the spell that would seal the opening Zarya had made to the astral plane when half way through she realized she couldn't remember the rest of the chant and had forgotten to open her book. It was to late to go fingering through the pages and so she started to chant what she thought were the rest of the words. When she finished a small ball of fire flew out of her palm in front of Zarya who was so startled that she fell backwards which in turn allowed the demon to come back through the astral plane.
As soon as the demon reappeared the fu-dogs went into action and jumped on it in order to distract it. once they had its attention Daedalus stopped its movement again and Zarya forced it back to the astral plane. When it came time for Vanthea to seal it she was still flipping through the pages of her book trying to find the right spell while Zarya and Daedalus were straining to hold the demon in place. "What are you doing?! Hurry up we can't hold it here forever!" Vanthea flipped two more pages and then yelled "Aha! I found it!" and began to chant the sealing spell. When it was all over they sighed and went back to the inn where they were staying. Shigandang had been injured in the fight but Zarya easily healed the wound with her powers once they returned to the inn. The next morning they lectured Vanthea and began the journey back to the temple.
Four years later Vanthea had turned 19 and Daedalus asked her to report to him for a special assignment. Several months earlier his wife Zarya, along with their daughter Adalgisa and her guardian whose name was Shishi, three guards and two other priestess had traveled to Eyropa but had never returned. Daedalus was worried since they had not received any word from them after they reached the area of Thar Shaddin, and he was also asked by his advisers to get rid of Vanthea for a little while so that they could repair damage that she had caused to the temple so he asked her to travel there and find out why they had not returned or sent any word as to why they were late. Vanthea didn't have much choice but to agree and so she began her journey to Thar Shaddin.
After finally arriving in the city of Marn after her long journey she went to the Justice Hall to register her power and also asked if Zarya and the others had come through. After a lot of negotiating she was able to convince them to check the records for her and she found that they had indeed been here and stayed for several days before leaving. She thanked them and then left to get an apartment in the Downtown area of the city. After getting an apartment she went around asking the locals for any information on them and she learned that Zarya had left towards Keltaris, their original destination, but for some reason the creature that had been with them, probably Shishi, returned and was seen every now and then by people in both Marn and the nearby town of Shim. So Vanthea decided that she would start by looking for Shishi in the morning and went back to her apartment to rest.
