Adamor "Morry"

Post by Morry » Sat Aug 08, 2009 3:33 am

Player Name: Zina
Name: Adamor "Morry" Ugarit Osrith
Age: 27 Years
Race: Werewolf/shifter
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 125lbs

Physical Description: Morry can be described in various ways, but the one word he really cannot fit with is 'handsome'. His square jaw and boxy frame lacks grace. Morry is a man who appears as if he really should weigh much more and be built thickly and well-muscled. Unfortunately, his lifestyle has deemed real weight gain nearly impossible and he has retained his skinny look from childhood. His build might be described as "stretched." His skin is unnaturally pale in color; lack of food has ensured that Morry looks ill. There is a relatively thick scar beneath his right eye that follows the line of his skull's eye socket. His hair is dark brown, almost black, and because he doesn't bathe very often it is usually greasy, coated in a layer of dandruff. If he took better care of himself it might be silky and smooth, but instead it is overgrown and almost to his shoulders, tangled and often outrageous-looking because he doesn't bother brushing it in the morning despite his obsessive tooth brushing. His eyes are a rather unremarkable grey coloration.

Morry's most notable attribute physically, by far, is the Bridler's Stigma on his right arm. This strange, magic-induced scar stretches from the tips of the fingers all the way up to just above the elbow. The flesh in this area is a strange dark color and looks a lot like a burn, the skin thin and prone to injury. The muscles appear diminished and the veins and bones show through strongly, which is most obvious in his "aged" hand with its twig-like fingers and damaged skin.

Clothing for Morry is simple. If ever he sees clean clothing left unattended that isn't too ridiculous, he will take it.

The wolf form of Morry is also really not anything special for his race. When Morry shifts, he can only shift into a half-breed form of wolf that walks upright, though a bit hunched over. Though he is more muscular as this bipedal wolf, he is still awkwardly thin. His fur is a natural agouti coloration with fairly more brown in it than usual, with a large mixture of coppers, creams, greys, whites, and beige variants throughout his body. As a wolf and a human you can see his ribs a bit, though he is not starving to death. His fur often looks ragged and almost as unkept as his human hair. This bipedal wolf essentially has a human body with variants of muscle distribution, large, paw-hand/foot hybridizations, a much thicker neck and of course, a large lupine head. Morry retains his grey eyes as a wolf, and though he is more impressive as a wolf, he is still quite sad in comparison to others of his race. The Bridler's Stigma on his arm changes as a wolf, but the fur on it is sparse, strangely short, delicate, and white in color. The muscles are diminished strongly just as they are in human form.

His movements in both forms are much more human-like than wolf, betraying his true race and instead being very awkward and lacking the grace of a canid. Often he does walk toe to heel in both forms, but generally only at night from habit. In the day, because he is never a wolf in the day and rarely even awake at all, he is duck-footed and odd.

Possessions:
All-purpose bag: Because Morry has not settled in any specific home for very long, he carries all of his belongings with him. His simple bag made of a navy blue cloth carries nothing more than a makeshift toothbrush, whatever money he may have on him, a small and ragged blanket that is torn and threadbare, clothing, and Zou the drum. Often he keeps whatever food he finds in this bag, and so it has developed a rather foul smell to it. In his right pocket he keeps a small pocketknife.

Zou the drum: Although not truly a possession, seeing how Zou is actually alive and owns Morry as much as Morry owns him, Morry obtains some powers through Zou. Morry can communicate with the drum and to some extent wield his power, but their relationship is complicated and not one of master and slave, so this doesn't always work. Zou is responsible for Morry's defective arm.
Zou's profile.

Strengths:
Shifting: Morry possesses the ability to shift into a bipedal wolf. He has absolutely no control whatsoever of this power and shifts during specific phases of the moon (half of the nights in a month, more concentrated toward the full moon). His senses are heightened while he is shifted into his wolf form. These sensory-overrides disappear with his return to human form. Shifting also greatly improves his strength, speed, and overall ability to function which comes at the cost of a severe lack of control. In wolf form, Morry is dominated by violence and powerful urges that he has difficulty controlling.

Zou's powers: The drums powers can be harnessed by playing the drum, but not without Zou's agreement. These powers include manipulating the rain cycles of the earth, and scavenging his own mind for hidden knowledge by getting in touch with the rat spirit. He can also teleport by cooperating with Zou, but it's impossible to really know where he's going and even more impossible to teleport back. Zou can be used as a powerful weapon but he is also a sentient being, and his personality doesn't mix very well with Morry's. His powers can only be harnessed with the cooperation of them both. Morry is, for now, unaware of these gifts and views Zou as a parasite.
Zou's profile.

Weaknesses:
Obsessive: Morry is extremely obsessive in nature about specific things or people he encounters. One of the more prolonged and obvious obsessions is his peculiar preoccupation with tooth-brushing.

Inability to control shifting: Morry has no way at all of controlling his transformations and they are extremely painful to endure, especially because of his physical condition. They occur half the nights in a month, with more concentration toward the full moon. Shifting also makes Morry extremely aggressive and he is generally not able to control violent urges and the instinct to hunt. He almost always leaves the city and transforms in the woods or in Shim to avoid any unwanted confrontations.

Poverty: Being born in a poor family, Morry has never been able to succeed at earning bishani. He is often seen on the streets of Marn begging for bishani. He has been involved in petty crime more than once and will often resort to pick-pocketing just to eat. It is not unusual to see him digging in garbage piles and compost for something to eat, and he is known for stealing clothes.

Socially Inept: Morry is almost always in pain while he is human and often has a lack of will to do anything at all. He is susceptible to depression, and lack of association with other people has made him extremely pessimistic and often very cruel to those around him. Morry has a sarcastic, mean nature about him. He is not a victim who is bullied upon for no reason. He is oversensitive and vein, and often says or does things before thinking. He often comes off as unpleasant because life has not been 'fair' to him and he tends to lash out at anything that looks at him wrong. Adamor is not very intelligent. He has the potential to learn, he just doesn't want to. He is unpredictable in his actions, and has surprised many in the past with the things he has done. While he can be pleasant, he is often droning and boring, and absolutely hates it when people pity him, despite trying to seek this sort of attention through his actions.

Physical Weakness: He will not hesitate to pull his knife on someone who threatens him, but his reflexes are slow and any skilled fighter could easily defeat him. Due to lack of food, Morry is often, especially toward the new moon, very malnourished and although he is in his prime age, his body suffers from his poor lifestyle and habits. As a wolf, this weakness for all intents and purposes disappears for the most part, but he could never win a fight with another werewolf. He does not have healing abilities like other werewolves.

History: Morry was born in Zhaltev, the city of shifters 'up North'. The city, to him, was a brutal place to grow up. With the inability to control his shifting, he was often the one picked on when he was young at school. He is an only child, and with a single mother who was more often than not off drinking and gambling, his younger years were anything but happy. His father left his mother when he discovered her pregnancy (Morry is a natural-born 'pure blood' werewolf), just when Adamor was a wee fetus. Left to raise this child alone, his mother had never had a lot of money (few did) and though they lived in a small rented room, they did not have many luxuries. His mother would often spend money on herself before she would spare a sent for little Morry, and though he didn't realize this as much at the time, his mother was emotionally abusive of him. She would often bring strange men to the home. Morry never had a father figure though, and was forced to 'grow up young', essentially.

In reality, he's still rather childlike even now. After he was in school for a while, at age thirteen he became depressed as puberty set in more and the bullying only got worse. Despite carrying a pocketknife to school every day, Morry often came home with bites and bruises, and was never really able to defend himself against child shifters because of his inability to control his shifting and, at the time, naturally skinny physique. After quitting school, his mother became angry with him and shouting matches between the two became commonplace. When Morry turned fifteen, he learned that his mother had started selling her body for money, and he left the home after a fight with her in which his mother bit him on the arm.

After that, Adamor lived on the streets for the remainder of his time. He did have a friend who was also a homeless kid not much older than him for a time named Kurio; a bear shifter who was manipulative and brutal. This friend of his introduced him to a wide variety of things including but not limited to gambling (often on street fighting), alcohol, and drugs. The gambling and alcohol stuck well, and soon enough Morry became a common sight in taverns and bars. He was often abusive of both and lost almost all of the little money he had. He also became an early alcoholic, though still fails to realize this and doesn't notice that it is often dangerous for him to drink so much because forgetting if he is shifting on a night can cause serious problems. He is an aggressive wolf and drinking only worsens this.

Over time, Morry became rather well-known at his favorite bar for being the funny-looking kid. There, he was actually rather well-received and rarely had issues there. However, living on the streets is not an easy thing, and often he would have to accept pity donations from people in order to even survive in the rough town of Zhaltev. He was still persecuted outside of the areas he knew well and was alone for the most part. This developed into the lifestyle that he has become used to, though an event in his life would alter it.

Shortly after Morry turned twenty-five, he met a woman who became a common sight in the tavern. She, also a werewolf, was average, though pretty to him. One night when he was exceptionally drunk and when she had angered him by rejecting a flirtatious, disgusting comment he made, he cornered her in an alley and forced himself upon her. It need not be written the vulgar details, but Morry was discovered quickly afterward. With the strong government in Zhaltev, Morry was banished for the act from the city and was forced to find somewhere else to go. He traveled for a good time, and decided to come to Marn with no intention other than to settle and survive.

After taking up residence in the downtown area of Marn, Morry broke into an old manor with the intention of gathering expensive things to sell and clothes to wear. It was here, in all irony, that he met the thieves Thad and Dianelopa. The thieves were there to retrieve a specific item, and Morry helped them in all his failure and stupidity. A very large and angry troll chased them out of the home, and here Morry separated from the thieves in anger, having not received any share of the goods. After this incident, the werewolf took a weird obsession toward following the thieves around and looking for an opportunity for vengeance.

Eventually, that opportunity arrived in the form of a noble called Salazar. Morry overheard Thad talking with one of his superiors about an important item that was to be staged. They would have Salazar pay a ridiculous sum of money for the item, and then steal it back and make the whole thing look like a petty theft. When the heist took place, however, Morry was all over it. As a wolf the men and Thad were no match for him, and he stole the item for himself to sell on the black market. When he opened the box that he had stolen to see the contents, he saw it was nothing more than a worn drum, and went to throw it. The moment he touched it, it damaged his dominant arm permanently and so he became bonded in a most feral way with Zou the drum.
