Height: 5'7 ft

Physical Description:
Jordyn is a lithe woman, and she is a bit taller then most girls her age but no so much that it causes unneeded attention to be called to her presence. She keeps her appearance tidy enough, though upon close inspection one can easily see her clothing is well aged and has suffered many repairs. The garb is simple, consisting only of a pair of clean, though thread bare, trousers, which may have once been black but have long since faded into a worn sooty hue. Her torso is well covered by an equally poor quality blouse, it is a ruddy yellowish color , with buttons up the front, though at least two of those buttons have been lost and never replaced, it is long sleeved, however, she keeps the sleeves rolled up, exposing her slightly tanned arms from the elbow to the wrist. Jordyn keeps her hands covered with brown leather gloves, the finger tips strategically removed. Her feet are clad in worn but still very useful brown boots with newer laces.
Jordyn's personal appearance, at first glance, strikes one as plain. However, her youth is evident and when one looks closer they can easily see her potential to be a great beauty, that is, if great beauty can exist in such a place. Her hair is kept tightly coiled at the nape of her neck, giving little indication of its excessive length and when clean it can only be described a red-gold fire. Her face is shaped delicately, with dark, thin, arching brows and a high forehead. Her eyes are not quite round, nor are they quite almond shaped, they are a bit large for her features and a striking clear blue, or green, depending on who it is that is inspecting her.
Possessions:
With her Jordyn carries a simple pack, within it all of her possessions, and those are indeed few. She carries with her a change of clothing, the only other article she owns and it is a gown that no well-bred woman would dare place upon her lady-like form. It is gray and tattered, unadorned, and leaves much to be desired. Along with the gown there is a sketch book, nearly filled, and two pieces of coal to for drawing. Also within the pack there is a pack of herbs, some for healing, others for eating, and an animal hide canteen. She also keeps hidden in the folds of her rag-tag gown a single novel, the first she ever read from one cover to the other.
In her boot Jordyn carries a small pouch, containing the little money she has, perhaps enough for a night in a comfortable inn, and three pieces of her late mother's jewelry, not grand by any measure, but the two silver rings and pendant mean much to her.
She also carries in her boot a small and ineffectual dagger, with a dull blade and a makeshift handle. It provides little in the way of intimidation, but, should the need arise, it could save her life, provided it was used properly.
Powers or Strengths:
Jordyn does not consider herself magically inclined. She can boast only of increased senses. Though how little she knows about her true abilities. Her parents were not of magic knowledge, so could do little to educate her in its ways. However, Jordyn will no doubt soon learn of her true potential. She is aware of only the fact that she can sense things, without true clarity, and if she touches recently used things she can feel the stirrings of the person, or entity that was once there.
The only ability Jordyn can truly embrace without fear of pain or persecution is her ability to draw and sculpt. She loves anything that can be described as art and relies heavily upon her artistic ability to sooth her.
Weaknesses:
When her "gift" becomes too strong, or rather over stimulated, Jordyn experiences excruciating pain, fatigue, and disorientation almost instantly. It leaves her weak and very much exposed to danger. She is also very poorly trained in combat, though should her life depend upon that skill there is no doubt she would do all she was able to preserve herself.
History:
Jordyn was raised by her mother and father, simple folk, who resided just outside of Shim on a small and useless farm. Her mother was an Elf, named Malika, and her father was a Human, named Jordan. The young girl was taught the importance of servitude and self-preservation, home schooled by her less than bright mother, who knew little of books and texts, but was wise in the ways of love and patience, and physically conditioned by her father, who, by no standards, was a fit man in body or mind, but he doted on his only child to a fault. Neighbors sometimes wondered at how Jordyn could be the product of two so seemingly useless people, but it did not change the fact that she was, and she was content with her simple life.
With no formal education or training Jordyn knew only how to do mundane tasks such as laundering cloths and sweeping floors. That is, until a local eccentric took her under his wing and taught her joy of art. Jordyn took to the task with ardor and zeal, she was brought to life by the ability to create something good, and worthy. It was not long before the man, who she calls on Namad, petitioned her parents to release her into his care. Her move to Namad's care did nothing for her financial situation, she was no richer, however no poorer either. What it did do was open up a world of possibility for the girl. She was taught properly by Namad, taught to read, write, and create beauty. He even tried to teach her some of his skill in combat, but his age and poor health kept him from passing on anything truly useful in the way of fighting to the girl.
While in Namad's care Jordyn's birth parents fell ill and soon expired from a fever. Many people were taken that season, many more left weakened by the sickness. Jordyn and Namad were lucky, Namad's knowledge of disease kept them safer than most from the illness and when it passed they continued on just as they had before it came, though Jordyn's days were somewhat shadowed by the loss of her parents, eventually she forgot the pain and moved forward. Jordyn thrived mentally under her caretaker's careful attention, and when he discovered her ability to sense things and feel things he worked on developing her skill so that it would be useful to her. His efforts seemed in vain until Jordyn began to feel things more keenly, however, they ceased the lessons when Jordyn began showing signs of weakness to the power.
She spent seven good years with Namad, seven years of learning and growing. She felt for him as she would have for her true father had he survived the sickness, and when his age finally took him from their world she felt the pain as deeply as any child would feel the loss of a father. She spent another year mourning her loss, and wallowing in her solitude, oblivious to the demands that were suddenly placed upon her young shoulders.
She is now twenty-two years old, her good friend has been gone for a little more than a year and reality has finally settled in. Jordyn is desolate, she has no property, no family, and no means of income. With a heavy heart and a burning fear she packed what little she owned and left Namad's home, it was no longer a place for her. She traveled the short distance to Shim, terrified of traveling any further to Marn, terrified because of the things Namad told her about the laws against magic. She needed work, she needed a home, but Shim provided little in the way of hope for that. Her choices are dwindling, and her fear is growing.
