Player Name: Mary
Name: Alcippe
Age: 27
Race: Human
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 145
Physical Description: Alcippe has piercing blue eyes and indeterminable hair - one day it is dark blonde and the next it seems brown. She keeps her hair cut very short, never letting it touch her shoulders. She is strong and well muscled, and in excellent physical shape. Her face is almost harsh: her nose is short but pointed and her jaw is strong and squared. She has a faint scar over her left eye and various scars cover are littered over the rest of her body. Despite her already worn appearance, her young age is apparent in the softness of her skin and the lack of wrinkles. This almost makes her seem more accessible.
Possessions:
A light sword.
A leather bound journal.
A sagging pair of brown pants, held up by a leather belt.
A leather vest.
A white shirt, with the sleeves torn off at the elbows.
A tall, light boned gray steed named Grane.
A saddle, bridle, and martingale.
A knapsack, which only holds food as she travels.
Powers or Strengths: Alcippe's greatest - and most loathed - strength is her combat ability. She's proficient at hand to hand combat, but her real strength lies in her swordsmanship. Combining acrobatics with her natural ability to wield a blade, she is able to outwit most foes that she is unable to defeat. Her other strength is horsemanship. She has no powers, but has been interested in magic since she was a child.
Weaknesses: Alcippe is careless and little too intense at times. She proclaims that she is a loner, but deep inside she longs for a certain companionship. She holds people at bay, but she has invested herself into several relationships in the past. Her greatest weakness would be how aloof she can be when first interacting with strangers. However, this aloofness wears off to reveal an intense desire for friendship.
History: Alcippe was born to a mother who was dedicated to taking care of her daughter. With no father to care for them, Alcippe and her mother scraped by the best they could, often turning to begging in the streets. When Alcippe was 14, her mother found an apprenticeship for her with a horseman. Her experience in this apprenticeship was largely fine - she was treated with respect and taught a useful trade. She stayed with him until she was 18, at which time she was released from the apprenticeship. Her master, Arkhip, gave her a young, gray steed and sent her on her way. The horse (Grane), then too young to be ridden, served as her constant companion on a long journey home. They developed a close bond, and Alcippe considers Grane to be her closest companion and ally.
When Alcippe arrived to the small settlement her mother had been living in, she discovered that her mother was gone, taken by a band of marauders. Young and brash, Alcippe spent her last savings on a sword and went in search of the marauders. Instead of finding her mother, she was recruited into a rogue band of warriors, priding themselves on their unique fighting techniques. They crossed the gymnastic with the sword play, and Alcippe was drawn into their world. The warriors were always on the move, and Alcippe never stopped searching for her mother. After two years, a single battle became the defining moment in Alcippe's life. She would always regret what happened there, and she never speaks of it. After that battle Alcippe mounted Grane, and the pair departed from the group of warriors to head towards Thar Shaddin on information about the marauders that took her mother.
However, Alcippe's past caught up to her. She was arrested for her involvement with the rogue warriors, and Grane was sent back to Arkhip. Throughout her time in prison, Alcippe kept to herself. A single riot was all it took for Alcippe to establish herself as a force to be reckoned with, and the other prisoners steered clear of her. Once she was released, Alcippe made the long trek back to Arkhip to retrieve Grane. Arkhip insisted Alcippe stay with him for a while, and she did. For three more years she worked with Arkhip, before finally taking her savings and Grane and leaving for Thar Shaddin. There, she hopes to find her mother, her future, and maybe even absolution for her past.
