Pitjanta lies far to the south and east of the world. The landscape is dominated by a single word. Empty. For miles, the expanse rolls on, with only the occasional bush or shrub to break the similarity. Loose, near infertile and sunbaked soil cover the entirety of the inner parts of Pitjanta. Only on the coasts is there any chance at truly viable farmland, and the storms that ravage those regions make life for the farmers difficult.
Due to these hardships with farming, life on Pitjanta is ruled by the ranching of the Nosjona, a large, deep green creature that is somewhere between the line of plant and animal. Huge herds of these are driven back and forth across the plains, in search of the scarce moisture. The men who run these herds, called Nosjianons, are hard, tough men that live their entire lives moving, taking their families with them, and fighting over water spots, called Jumbiyatas.
The Nosjianons sell their herds to the few cities that dot the landscape. The men who live in these cities, called Stylistas, supply the Nosjianons with clothing, weapons, but most importantly, horses from Tian Xia.
The final group of people living on Pitjanta are the Grani. The Grani are one huge group of roving bandits, that are led by a group of shamans with powerful magic. They prey on the weaker herds of the Nosojona, and the Nosjianons that care for them. They are considered savages by the rest of Pitjanta, and avoid the coasts, due to an inherited fear of the ocean, which comes from countless stories of evil gods living amongst the waves, waiting to lure men to their doom.
Pitjanta has two main languages, the first is Pangeim, which is a fusion of what were local languages before the Changers' War, and was created to mount resistance during the war. The Stylistas and Nosjianons use this language. The second language is that of the Grani, and uses their name.
The religion of Pitjanta is segmented into three separate views. The Grani believe in the stories of the Shamans that lead them. Numerous Gods are seeing as interfering with everyday events in their minds, and ruling over their dominions. Chief of among these gods, however, are Bali and Laji, who where said to create the world from the entrails of a Nosjona. The Stylistas, shaped by the storms that ravage their cities, believe in two deities, and believe in ritualistic sacrifice to appease them. The first is Jurunta, the Goddess of the Winds, and the second is her husband, Manoran, the God of the Seas. The Nosjianons believe mainly in the spirits of their ancestors, and hold one day each month in mourning of their passing.
