Rotiku

Character name: Rotiku
Age: 32
Race: Elven
Height: 5’5”
Weight: 165 pounds
Physical description:
Rotiku has messy black hair and blue eyes. He is has a strong build to him and holds a lot of flexibility. He wears long thick pale blue gloves that go up to his elbows, and a darker blue shirt with no design on it. He wears grey layered shorts and greaves that protect his shins. His boots are blue and yellow and each have a spine on the back. He wears a thin short sword at his side attached onto his belt. Along with that he also has a bag that hangs over his shoulder, and ropes tied onto his belt.

Strengths:
Rotiku is quite strong (Strong enough to lift a 40 pound weapon or less with little difficulty). He uses acrobatic techniques and jumps around his foes, avoiding being hit, and does a casual strike now and then. He uses an odd fighting style that confuses his opponents. He is quite difficult to hit, but not impossible. He will not get hurt by physical stress on his muscular system, since there is virtually none.
Since he once was a guard, he has moderate fighting skills with his sword, and hand to hand.
Finally he has a natural bond with the element air. He can command small whirlwinds and sparks of lighting. Neither are very strong as the whirlwinds can only kick up dirt to create cover, and the lightning can only inflict minor burns. He obtained his magical skills in Sharm where magic was not outlawed.

Weaknesses:
Flexibility: Although he can use it as a great strength it also has a dark side to it. His muscles are so supple that his joints will easily slip out of his sockets and become dislocated if care is not taken. He can get easily crammed into small spaces and end up stuck, get tied into poses and not be able to move at all, and it can attract much unwanted attention. It is so abnormal that it may be considered that magic was used to enhance his flexibility.

Phobia of Summoning:
As a side effect of watching his village get killed by summoned demons, he is terrified of any magic summoning spells.

Accidental landing:
In battle he uses his flexibility to a great advantage. He flips, rolls, cartwheels around. Although he appears as a hard target to hit, he cannot stop mid-air. If a trap is placed where he is going to land, he will have to fall victim to the trap.

Daydreamer:
He sits and daydreams. It is a huge disadvantage since he sits around thinking about far off things, ignoring the current problem at hand. He may even stop in battle to think about a crazy plan, only to get hurt while doing so.

Treasure hunter:
Rotiku is so obsessed with treasure, it is slightly ridiculous. He will risk his life, and the life of others just to aquire a rare artefact or some money. He would trade his best friend for a magical sword, and this can place him in an odd position.

History: I finished my set of sit ups and headed out to the village. The village was crowded as usual with people buying, selling and trading. I walked through the crowd to a merchant selling books. As usual I bought a few books on magic, creatures, and physical training. I kept in top shape in order to protect my town from any threats.

The town I lived in was called Sharm. It was a simple town with only about 100 residents. Everyone knew everyone else. We had about 5 guards, including me, but no one ever would want to ransack our village, so we were all pretty laid back. We stayed fit and got paid for doing practically nothing. I yawned and headed back to my house.

I heard a scream on my way back. I ran over to see one of the older guards being attacked by some sort of black monster. The other four of us all arrived at roughly the same time. The guard screamed as some sort of steam rose out of her mouth and into the monster’s. The monster leaped off of the guards shoulders from which it was perched, and she fell to the ground. I felt sickened. I knew that guard well, for she was one of the most beautiful women in all of Sharm. I looked at her body, but she looked hideous. The monster on the other hand was shaped like a beautiful lady, but only a black silhouette. I was shocked at the realization that the monster had taken that quality from her.

I heard more screams behind me as I watched the townspeople get attacked by similar monsters, only with different effects. They were taking skills, qualities, and the souls of the different people. I rushed in with my sword and swung it into one of the monsters. It sliced it like butter. I turned around to see the monster had no damage whatsoever. I attacked several more with similar effects. More than half of the village was lying on the floor. One of the monsters looked at me. I went to kill it, but found I couldn’t move. The monster was accompanied by another monster. More and more were pouring through magical gates of some sort, but only these two were interested in me.

“This one is strong” Boomed the larger of the two. “You should now consider what aspect to take back to the master.”

“Uh, yes sir!” Whatever it was, it was new at this and had no idea what it was doing. It stumbled around me drawing a circle and designs inside of it. The larger monster watched. The smaller monster noticed how scared I was and then jumped on my shoulders. “Are you afraid of a few demons, kid?” I tried to answer, but my mouth wouldn’t move. The larger demon snickered and looked at the design on the ground.

“You idiot! You forgot the death symbol. It was already too late as the demon on my shoulders started sucking that smoke out of my body. The demon on me started to feel heavier as I felt my back folding to support his weight. It stopped once I felt my shoulder blades hit something. It was strange, since I was still standing. It took me a moment to realize my back had folded so much that I was laying on my lower back. The demon stopped and I collapsed. I couldn’t move, but I could still hear. “You fool!” The larger demon yelled “This spell can only be used once per person, and you wasted it! Master will be very disappointed! You are exiled due to this disgrace.” The other demons all marched away leaving the small one behind. He sat next to me and looked at me.

“It wont be long before my master stops the summoning spell and I dissipate back to nothingness.” He sighed. He wanted sympathy from me? He did god knows what to my village and he was giving me his sad sack story. “Right, I should let you move and speak again...” He waved his hand and I regained control of my body.

“WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO ME!?” I yelled at him and grabbed him.

“I suppose I should tell you. Our Master summons us once every year and sends us to a specific town. Every year he creates a few new demons, and I was one of them. He got interrupted while he was creating me, therefore I didn’t know everything about the mission. The older demons tried to guide me, but-“ I cut him off.

“I DONT CARE! WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!”

“Im getting to that. The missions is to go to villages and take qualities that will make the Master stronger. Due to the strength of the spell, it can be used once per person to take one quality and replace it with another. Once it is used then that person gains imunity to it. Our Master has us use a death symbol in it to kill any of the people that we have taken qualities from, since we cannot directly kill. As you saw when you were attacking us, we have no physical form. My weight on you was the side affect of that spell.”

“So what did you do to me?” I asked him calming down. He clearly had no more hostile intentions.

“When he told me you were strong, I misinterpreted that. Instead of muscular strength, I thought he meant solid-like. So basically I just took away any stiffness that you had. Here, I will show you what I mean.” He pulled me up into a stand and pushed me. Once again I found myself paralyzed and unable to move. He pushed my torso far down while I was still standing. He continued to pull it through my legs. My back folded on itself like there was no tomorrow. I regained control and the demon sat back down. “It works in generally any direction.” He sighed again.

“So you just made me very flexible?” I asked him.

“Not just very flexible, it’s abnormal. Other people had more useful things taken away like youth, power, beauty, skills, knowledge, and anything else they had. Your
the only one that is still alive...”

Just then it clicked. I buried my face in my hands. Everyone I had known was dead. I looked at our village, looted with corpses. I cried for a while. After I pulled myself together a bit, I saw another demon walk back into the town.

“You there! Screw up!” He pointed at the small demon “Get rid of the boy and you are readmitted to the ranks of the Master. A spark of joy lit up the demon’s face.

“Well this is so long kid! Enjoy your life, freak!” He waved his hand and kicked me through a portal.

I woke up in a dark empty street at night. No one was around. I had no idea if that day had actually happened. I had my bag with my books, so that much was true. I bent back as far as I could. That was true as well. I sighed. It was not a dream. I wandered around the streets, only passing a few people who I dared no talk to. I finally found a sign, just a bit outside the city that said this was Marn. I had never heard of such a place. If I asked where I was I would look like a fool. It was almost day time so I headed back into the city. I had to find where I was, where my town was, and most of all I had to find the Master. I had a few questions for him.
