I think I'm the only person I know that's not too fond of it  The only fast food kind of thing that I like is pizza. Pizza is yummy.

I'm a HUGE fan of Chinese food. But the only dish I've ever made homemade was chicken or pork chow mein. Still, it's really good.

I think I have a sudden craving for it now...(drools)

Orange chicken. Mmmmmm.

When I was still in debate, we used to go out to Chinese every weekend after a tournament, usually at 2 AM, and at some hole-in-the-wall place in whatever city we happened to be in. The twelve of us would order about 10 different plates, and just pass everything in a circle. That's the way to eat Chinese...mmmm...

I know what I'm having for dinner tomorrow!

You don't all eat off the same plate, silly. You scoop portions onto your own plate. Haha.

I really can't stand American-style Chinese food. Crispy deep-fried pieces of chicken or pork covered in unnaturally colored sticky-sweet sauce . . . it's a very vague approximation of a small corner of the cuisine spectrum from one region of China; that is, the Southeast. Most cities that have China town districts at least have some restaurants that aren't catering to the tastes of what has become the general American perception of what Chinese food is. But yeah, on the whole, Americans are woefully impoverished of opportunities to eat actual Chinese cuisine, which can be amazingly incredible. That being said, this morning I had a jaunt down to the public market in the city and bought a zongzi for breakfast. It's a big ol' dumpling of sticky rice chock full of fatty pork chunks and soft nuts, wrapped up in bamboo leaves.

You wanna talk about real chinese food? You have to include all the absolutely disgusting things they eat over there too. I'm fine with my plum sauce covered unidentifiable giblets.

Pretty much any major city has a big china town in which you can find real chinese food anyway. You just have to have the guts to go into these places, because on the whole (at least here) they aren't very appealing. I've been to some really bad ones too. It's hard to tell which ones are honest ethnic places, and which ones are just disgusting shit holes.

Mostly, I stick to 'american' chinese food (in a city with a massive chinatown like Toronto) and if I want ethnic I go for something else, like indian.

You know what's foul though? that KFC stuff. That's foul. Ew.

KFC were forced to change their name from Kentucky Fried Chicken, for false advertising. Nuff Said.

When I want pure grease, I get KFC. It's like grease city. Did you want some chicken with that grease? Combine that with authentic Southern Sweet Tea (did you want some tea leaves on top of your mound o' sugar?) you've got Heart Attack County.

Sometimes I forget I'm in the South...and then I remember they just opened a Bojangles here...and everyone was REALLY happy about that. (Including me, I love Bojangles! Bojangles bojangles! Yes, it's a slur for exactly what you think it is).
