Player Name: Calico
Name: Dynadin (din - a - din) Rolthor
Age:53
Race: human
Height: 6'
Weight: 12 stone

Physical Description:

Dynadin bears the years of his age on his face; his eyes are greyed and the skin around them seems very worn, thin lines leaving an impression of the stresses he has endured over time. His hair is white with streaks of grey and always kept tied back. Though quite tall compared to most other people, Dynadin is actually quite thin and carries little muscle.
He only serves to emphasize is age with the manner in which he walks, often stooped and leaning on his staff, especially when walking particularly long distances - a rare occasion though this is.

Dynadin almost always wears his worn and grey robes over his trousers and shirt which not only hides his sheathed sword but presents something of a shield from probing eyes. The pockets within his robes can also serve as a convenient storage place for those items he does not wish others to see.

Possessions: His horse and wagon, two items which he has had with him for many years; the animal is dark grey, a cart horse built for pulling the heavy wagon and for travel.

His wares; being a travelling peddler, Dynadin does have a varied collection of items, some of which he has searched strenuously for, encountering much difficulty in collecting them. He prides himself on often having items of such rarity that they are inevitably in demand regardless of which city he travels to; fortunately for him the people of the smaller towns are interested by some of the more sentimental items he sells and so he sells them on for more money than his main wares - weapons. Dynadin has a significant stock of various weapons, from swords to axes and hammers. He has a personal interest in weapons and so knows those that will sell well in particular cities; the experience he has gained from his many years of travelling along the trade routes also assists him in this.

Personal possessions include: A necklace which he always keeps around his neck and a plain sword kept out of view underneath his robes.

Powers or Strengths: An extensive knowledge of alchemy, Dynadin has developed this skill over the years, initially as a means to enhance his own weapons, and then later as a way to increase the value of the weapons he puts up for sale. This skill is especially useful when he is commissioned to make weapons; he only takes on expensive commissions.

The old man has extended this skill into potion making, taking a particular interest into explosives and some defensive potions; potions such as powerful acids and those that, such as one so old and fragile as he clearly needs.

Weaknesses: He is old, therefore very slow and very fragile. Dynadin may not always admit that his age effects his movement or strength, yet it has done. He no longer has such skill with his sword that he could fend of more than one man at a time. His body is also weaker than he would like to admit, yet he walks as if favouring his right leg; this leg was ravaged by a stray wild wolf along the Northern trade route roughly a decade ago and has since kept bandaged up.

History: He is looking to retire somewhere. Too old to travel the world any more, too weary to keep going from place to place trying to sell his goods just so he can eat. His argument is that it’s not the life an old man should be living really. To this end he has travelled in some of the wilder parts of the world and discovered many a secret; some of these secrets are useless pieces of information, meant for the world that has since died, whilst others were very much worth striving for . . . To this end, he has made for Thar Shaddin.

A young man of much courage and with plenty of confidence to aid him, Dynadin set out on his travels not long after he began to learn how to duel with a sword. He travelled with a group of young men and women roughly his own age, each of them wishing to become experts with their respective weapons. Dynadin was a fair swordsman and became better with each passing town, but his attention could never stay focused on the one weapon for long before another caught his eye. But unlike his companions, he saw more than simply what damage the weapons could do or what they looked like; he was interested in how they were made and what they were made from. Dynadin was fascinated by the science of the weapons, even if he was unaware of a thing such as science, and soon began to search out those who knew such things. It wasn't long before he separated from his companions who had decided that they wished to join the Marn city guard and though Dynadin has since been back to Thar Shaddin, he has found it difficult to make much contact with these people. But he has never regretted this as he has pursued people into the wilds of the world, from Caelteth Eyrop to the Northern reaches of Tian Xia and found that there are those people who know of weapons in such a way that he could never fathom as a fool-hardy boy.

It was from these people that he learnt of weapons, spending many a year from the major cities in reclusive areas of the world. Instead he has lived in the small communities that survive in the wilds and he has helped as much as he could, as they have quenched his thirst for knowledge of the weapons that he is so fascinated with and more; Dynadin soon found that in some of the oldest books still left that different weapons can be enhanced in different ways by a skill known as alchemy. It did not take long for him to pursue this fervently and over more than two decades has mastered the art.

Initially, Dynadin used this newly learned skill to enhance his own weapons so that he could fend off all manner of creatures from the small communities that he would travel between. He did this for nearly a decade, only visiting the main cities to keep abreast with the goings on in the world and at a small chance of seeing those people he once knew, yet his interest in the large groups of people would never last for long and so he would return to the small communities. As time passed he began to see the advantage he could gain from his skill and began to sell the weapons he made; he soon realised that personal commissions could be particularly profitable and began taking on projects for rich individuals. Then, after a particularly profitable stay at Thar Shaddin, he was attacked on his way to the home of a man who taught him much of alchemy and survived; though his right leg became irreparably damaged and so he was left with a significant disadvantage in regards to his style of life. He sought council with a few of his old teachers and eventually came to the conclusion that he needed to stop what he was doing and settle somewhere. For this to happen he knew he would need a well paying commission from a particularly rich individual and for this he would need to travel to Marn once more . . .

Approved.
I'm allowing you not to list all the items and potions he can make because it looks balanced this way. Be conservative with it though.
The world is an arena, not a stage. RP is a stage, not an arena.
