While I can't lay claim to being the grammar or punctuation queen in any way, Ico, I'd be more than willing to help you out with that. ^_^

I should post my profile for Mali'Ara tomorrow. Just one more glitch I wanted to work out first however.

Honestly, the most useful thing I learned as a writer was to occasionally throw grammer out the window. Unhesitant defenestration is a good habit to get into, particularly with folks who annoy you.

I had to look up what "defenestration" means. Gee, I hope I never annoy Railtus.

Seriously, I think a certain amount of care needs to be taken with spelling and punctuation in order to make a post readable. If I'm constantly having to stop and try to figure out what the writer was attempting to say, then it's hard to concentrate on the vision they're evoking. But the rules aren't absolute. I use sentence fragments all the time when I want to achieve certain effects.

My theory on this goes the same for art and pretty much every other domain. You're free to break the rules only after you've mastered them. That's the point at which you know where and how to do it right.
The world is an arena, not a stage. RP is a stage, not an arena.

Excellent. I really like that description. Up there with 'we have smart bombs and stupid people.'

Many writer's tools defy grammar openly, but they work. Fragments, for example, can be very powerful.

Very good. Is emotive, gives an immediate feel for the character. Adds small pieces of description to make the scene more vivid and meaningful. Ends on a strong note. Well done. Keep it up.

Well, it's the difference between someone who purposefully disregards a grammar rule that they're aware of, and someone who doesn't even know that they've done it.

That's actually a misquote I made. The original quote is one of Martin Luther King Jr's: "Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men"
