Thread starting date: 163PW, about 39 years prior to present.

Location:

Khrivne, an almost-city in the gloomy and cold province of Ciasse.

Current notes on Ciasse: http://www.tharshaddin.com/rp/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=3383

Summary:

In Eyropa, trade is serious business. Money is power, and merchants carry a lot of influence in politics.

Ciasse is no different. The boyars of its cities rely on trade to maintain their lifestyles and that of Ciasse' citizens. The ruling Veche of Ciasse maintains good relations with the Imperial Consul.

Where Ciasse differs from other provinces is one not-so-little dilemma: the mostly independent city of Zhaltev, the city of shifters.

Zhaltev gives only the slightest of fucks for what some whiny human merchants want. There's always someone bitching about 'safe passage' and 'all my delegates were killed by werewolves' after all. The weak get eaten, the strong survive. That's the Zhaltev way.

However, with certain of Ciasse's trade relations reaching dangerous levels of tension, diplomatic talks are called between representatives of the Veche, Zhaltev, and Merchants with significant investments in trade with Ciasse.

Things go downhill when an assassination causes the talks to explode, and a belligerent faction of Zhaltevite shifters launch a major attack on Khrivne.

Tagi and Sertor, tagging along with the merchant faction as visible muscle and bodyguards, get caught up in the vicious street-to-street warfare, joined by a shifter revolutionary with their own agenda.

And this is why we can't have nice things
