The Marn Volunteer Fire Brigade, fondly known as the Dragon Slayers.
Chief: Arganath "Arggy" Forgebreaker
1st Captain: Mortaro Rockbottom
2nd Captain: Roan Goldsmith
Membership: Around twenty one strong, excluding the officers. Predominantly dwarven, with a smattering of humans. Team work is highly stressed, and revolves around a three-man team structure. The 'buddy system' is also prioritized, while it does bring some danger with their low numbers, if a team is inside a danger zone, then a team is held back for a rescue team in case of something going wrong. The three-man structure has given rise to the joking cry of 'Coming up threes, boys!' often heard on a fire ground where the Volunteers are, the shout generally being used to communicate to others that another team has arrived or is moving in.
Area of Service: The older districts, including the historic area are their predominant areas of service. Marn being the size that it is and both the professional and volunteer services being as small as they are, they technically cover the entire city, but there are time honored lines in the sand, where they know they are supposed to be at without causing tension. Not to say they always pay heed to said lines.
Public perception: The general public opinion of the Volunteer Fire Brigade is highly dependent on what area of Marn you are currently standing in. To the people of the Historic District, they're valued heroes, paragons of the community. In the Residential District, the opinion is mixed, mainly due to the predominantly non-human members of the Brigade. While they do appreciate what the Volunteers do, they're also 'not professionals', and several homeowners complain due to the nature of volunteering in and of itself, that the men may not be able to make an alarm because they have lives outside of the Brigade, as opposed to the professionals. Whereas in the Business District, those that frequent and own the taverns, the inns, the brothels, they much prefer their feisty dwarven Dragon Slayers to the 'stuffy' professional brigade, which to this day has not only refused to embrace any nicknames offered by the public, but has deliberately squashed attempts.
The Temple and Justice Hall are more frequently covered and served by the Professional Brigade, and the Hospital also falls under that line. Which is generally preferred by the sort of people that both frequent that area and work their. While the Volunteer brigade is good at their jobs, they don't exactly convey the same image that the Professional brigade does.

Marn Volunteer Fire Brigade [In Progress]
There is pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...

The fire brigade is part of the Guard services -- love that there's a Volunteer version

We'll need to update the Guard Structure, too.
