For SCIENCE!
Re: For SCIENCE!
Oh my. Well. A city not reliant on magic? How dreadfully plebiaen of them. Still, if one thought about it, Raeyen's life was all about being generous with his body. What could a blood sample hurt in the grand scheme of things? I mean, it wasn't as if he didn't have clientele with special needs. One reformed Mormo really liked to bite, after all. Now she was a feisty one.
Raeyen calmed down as he read the recommendation from the Healer's guild. From the way this Metarie rambled on about magic, it was clear she was one of those academic types. And, regrettably, the paperwork was now all in order. Violante, oh Violante, what had that vicious bitch gone and done? Raeyen was certain now this was payback for the aubergine incident.
There was only one thing to do. Raeyen shrugged, a graceful movement which let his toga once more slip off one shoulder and display his glistening musculature. "Very well. It is an unusual request, but the guild's seal is legitimate." And Violante had not really left him any room to manoeuvre "How does this sampling work?" Raeyen arched an eyebrow suggestively, playful demeanour restored.

Re: For SCIENCE!
Ree found the man odd. There was no other word for it. She was out of her element in so many ways. Especially, when, once again, the man dropped his clothing. Even if it were different circumstances, Ree would feel uncomfortable.
She blinked a few times, then smiled a smile that lit up her face as she realized he meant he'd let her get the samples.
"Thank you! Well, you should lay down and relax on the couch there for a start." Ree smiled again and gestured to the couch as she took up her medical kit bag.

Re: For SCIENCE!
Ah, now there was a phrase well within the bounds of Raeyen's understanding. The elficorn stretched a little, letting the toga slip further as he arose from his seat and approached the large divan at a leisurely pace. If not for the sash around his narrow waist, the toga would have slipped completely to the floor. There was a knack to making muscles ripple under the light in such circumstances.
Raeyen reclined on the loveseat, toga barely concealing his groin thanks to one carelessly sprawled leg. "Feel free to get comfortable too, doctor. I'd be glad to experience your bedside manner." In a manner of speaking. The bare-chested gigolo's mischievous smile left no doubt as to the meaning of his words.

Re: For SCIENCE!
Still out of her element, she obviously looked anywhere but his groin. Ree also had the presence of mind to catch the innuendo. She looked down at the bag as she opened the clasp to try and cover some of the fluster she felt. Color brightened her cheeks and even the tips of her ears.
"Yes... well... hrm..." From the kit she produced a ball and a short piece of stretchy fabric. Not making eye contact was also out of her element for her. So when she looked up, her gaze skittered from his arm and chest to meet his gaze. The smirk was still there. Ree blinked a few times. Again. Raeyen made her feel self-conscious, which led her to feel uncertain. The elf looked down at her lap. She was still herself. Still a doctor. He was just an unusually rakish patient and all she needed to do was to get through six small vials, no longer than her pinky each and then she could (run away) leave.
Ree inhaled a breath and steeled herself for looking at Raeyen again. This time, she managed to not skitter her glance across him and aimed her gaze successfully at his face. It didn't help matters that his choice of sitting style meant her knees were now brushing his thigh. She lifted the ball.
"Hold this for me in your left hand. Once I tie this around your arm, I need you to squeeze the ball three or four times. OK?" The words helped her center herself a little and her usual, gentle smile peeked through.

Re: For SCIENCE!
The smirk became more pronounced as Metarie's blush deepened. "Should I be gentle when squeezing?" Raeyen shifted slightly as he prepared to follow the doctor's instructions, letting his thigh rub her knee slightly and jostling the toga even more out of position. The material was no longer in a position for any real semblance of modesty to remain.
Raeyen waved the ball near his stomach at a level which would have a better chance to distract the doctor's gaze downwards as he made his enquiry.

Re: For SCIENCE!
Ree had been reaching for his arm to tie the fabric in place. She'd already been on the edge of her chair, due to her discomfort. So when he moved his arm, she sort of grabbed for it. The motion leaned her in closer to him than she wanted. Her hands had hold of his arm - her left on his bicep, her right around his forearm - both of which moved with well-formed grace as he flexed his fist. The look on her face bordered on consternation and a dismayed uncertainty.
Again, she made sure to keep her gaze professional - studiously and obviously. A little prickle of sweat may or may not have started on her scalp.
"Ah, yes, gently is good. And, you need to keep your arm here...," Ree moved his arm so that his hand was now also near her knees, "...and slightly bent like this, as I tie this around this upper part of your arm... see? Then, keep it there, please, and squeeze the ball gently."
Sash tied, snugly, around the spot just above his elbow and below his bicep, Ree focused on his arm. "Oh, this is perfect. If only all my patient's veins were this accessible. My assistant's job would be much easier." Ree's thumb stroked over the spot she'd identified.

Re: For SCIENCE!
Raeyen had begun to find the fun in this appointment. "Very well then, Doctor. I shall be gentle." He shifted position slightly again, ostensibly in order to make his arm more accessible, but somehow the effort seemed to require most of his body to move just enough to potentially distract one's gaze.
Sprawled out as he was, and awaiting Metarie to get about the business of obtaining her samples, Raeyen felt it the perfect opportunity to enquire "So, doctor Metarie, do I appear to be in good health?"
Raeyen stretched out his leg a little, resembling in posture some of the Grecian-inspired erotic sculptures which could be found elsewhere in the House of Nepenthe, and directed an inquisitive glance in her direction. The toga might as well have just given up and gone home to its closet by that stage for all the good it was doing in concealing any amount of skin.

Re: For SCIENCE!
Ree paused and did look, because he moved when didn't expect him to. And there it was, lounging against his thigh, in a semi-turgid state. How in the world...? Her hand tightened on his arm to keep it in place, thumb on the crook of his arm. The color hadn't left her cheeks, or the tips of her ears. Indeed, if it were possible, they might be a little pinker.
But that was neither here nor there. Focus was important. From the bag came a cloth, pungently scented - an antiseptic. Then, a needle, cap easily removed by her thumb.
"Yes, you do appear healthy. I've always found a shifter's physical capabilities amazing. Where the thumb and wipe had been, the needle would go with quick, medical efficiency. "You may feel a slight pinch, at first, but that will go away quickly."
After his first round of "blood play" comments, Ree was surprised at how docilely he was accepting things now. The first vial was even on. Ree untied the sash from his arm and the first vial filled quickly.
"Perfect. You're doing wonderfully." The pink subsided a little. For a moment, everything was normal in her world again, genital exposure not withstanding. It was remarkable to note that even this didn't minimize ... things, or it hadn't quite yet. The pink returned, because she'd looked - not full on, mind, just a quick glance or two, because barring that troll in the emergency room his was the largest she'd ever seen. It was almost a little freakish, until she remembered his shifter specialty. It probably wasn't normally like that... and that thought didn't bear further following. The mind boggles.
The first vial was replaced with the second. "You had mentioned earlier that your true form is quite large. So that means you are truly a shape-shifter. That's amazing." Ree meant it and it could be heard in her voice.

Re: For SCIENCE!
Raeyen resisted the urge to grin broadly, but kept his mirth to a half-smile. A doctor's needle was nothing compared to the accoutrements typical of some of his clients. And this not even near his nipples or manhood. Really, if it hadn't been for that one girl with the fetish for scalpels... but they had Callix for that now, and thank the Changers for it. Raeyen spoke with a purring drawl "It's not the first time I've felt a pinch in these liaisons, doctor." The elficorn smiled with a hint of mischief "I'm quite sure you have me well in hand."
Despite the innuendo, Raeyen didn't actively disrupt her ministrations. It was somewhat disconcerting seeing his glittering pink blood being stored in a vial like that, and the less he distracted her now, the sooner she'd be done with the unpleasantness. Nonetheless, remaining still was not the same as remaining quiet "I am a creature of delights, dear doctor. I can be as large as you want, or as large as you need."

Re: For SCIENCE!
So used to taking blood samples for her work, it didn't dawn on her until the second vial that Raeyen's blood was pink and ... and sparkly.
As she was marveling over that, she opened herself up and walked right into that innuendo without even realizing it. Then, the innuendo turned into a blatant offer.
Ree just looked at him. Blankly, for a breath or two, before reaching for the next vial. She was tempted to ask if he could fill the vials faster, but that probably would make him pass out. Ree's mouth moved and sounds came out. She waffled, eye on the vials. She was already on the fourth.
"Yes, and see? That's what I mean. A true shape-shifter. You have a natural state and you can manipulate that state in any way you want. Do you prefer your natural state or do you have a preference for a particular form?"
If she had thought about it, she'd not have said the latter part, either. But, her mouth was moving to distract not only him, but herself, as well. "Only two more to go. You're doing wonderfully, Raeyen."

Re: For SCIENCE!
The elven woman's embarrassment was too much. The grin broke past the more contained smile as Metarie was reduced to what was basically semi-coherent medical jargon mixed in with self-narration and discourse on shapeshifters. And it didn't end there. "Oh, yes, I do prefer the natural state. I find clothing so needlessly restrictive Metarie, don't you?"
Vials were being filled, and Raeyen had to admit his blood was rather attractive in vial form. Hopefully word would not get out regarding that particular detail. As Metarie continued he added "I do so love my visitors to leave feeling completely satisfied." When the doctor paused to switch vials, Raeyen shifted position slightly once more. For comfort, of course, and to better enhance his point regarding the natural state, as it were.

Re: For SCIENCE!
Vial number five. Maybe requesting the last two to fill quickly and making him pass out was a good idea. Ree knew he was grinning at her flummoxed behaviors - taking enjoyment from her awkwardness. He almost purred out It was with an almost pained expression that she lamely responded with an almost pained expression.
"I... no. I ... am comfortable in my clothes. I usually wear things I find comfortable. And, I meant your ..." Inwardly, she groaned at herself. If her hands weren't busy, she would have smacked her forehead with her palm. Finishing the sentence was pointless. She shook her head with a rueful smile and looked down at the vial.
Ree fervently tried to avoid acknowledging anything in her peripheral vision. She was still awkward, but now in an earnest sort of way.
"I am completely satisfied. That you agreed to provide these samples, might mean cures for so many people. And that is ... amazing." Ree meant it. She looked up from the last vial as she attached it. The look on her face was beatific. The words weren't sensual or sexy in any way. But, the tone of her voice said volumes as to how important such things were to her. Even couched amongst still pink cheeks and an unintentional glance at the beauty of a natural form.

Re: For SCIENCE!
Raeyen lounged complacently on the divan, glad that the ordeal was over. He would be having words with Violante, oh yes he would. Or maybe, instead, a little retribution was more in order... but that could wait.
The gigolo wasn't feeling particularly inclined to particularly strenuous activity after all that, but still added "I am pleased. Anything else I can help you with, Doctor? I've often heard it said that seeing something and experiencing it are two very different things..." The smirk, along with Raeyen's posture, left no room for interpretation.

Re: For SCIENCE!
The lack of room for interpretation led to her looking wide-eyed at him, followed-up with a shaky laugh.
"Ah ha ha, no thank you. I will finish up the physical though." And with that, Ree held out her hand above Raeyen's chest. From that point, a warmth emanated from her to him, enveloping him as she used her magic to search his body for anomolies. Her pupils dilated, leaving a ring of gold around the dark iris. She wanted to do the physical just to make sure the claims of health weren't exaggerated. There were no waved hands or incantations, nor did it take long.
"Clean bill of health! Make sure to drink a few glasses of fresh water and remain resting for at least fifteen minutes. Give yourself a chance to rest before your next appointment. If you don't, you might pass out." Ree smiled and nodded, curling her hand closed. Now, that the medical part was over, she could go.
"You chose an exceptionally beautiful form. It reminds me of the beautiful statues on the piazza. I hope you'll understand my not taking you up on the offer. I... I have someone I like very much... " Ree stopped talking, realizing she'd begun to ramble. AGAIN. Pink cheeks. AGAIN.
"Thank you for your help and I wish you continued health and longevity." The innuendo was unintended, as had been all her other verbal faux pas. "I'll see myself out. Please, rest."
Ree did not linger longingly, but she did give Raeyen a change to have the last say.

Re: For SCIENCE!
Well, it had been worth the attempt, Raeyen mused. The doctor wasn't unattractive, after all, and the shy ones were a rare kind of visitor. Yet Raeyen was a consummate professional, and knew when not to make someone overly uncomfortable, so he spared Metarie any further innuendo while the physical was completed.
Her rambling compliments and apology almost caused him to burst into amused laughter, but self restraint once more kept it to a smile as he waved from the divan. "Travel safely, doctor. I am sure he, she, or it is worth your commendable loyalty. Good luck with your research!" As Metarie closed the door behind her, Raeyen's thoughts turned to the question of Violante, and how he could dish out a little payback. He was glad his next appointment was not for a few hours. Now that customer was in no way shy. Raeyen would need the rest.
