Name: Silas Agares (Has been known to use the last name Lurie as an alias.)
Gender: Male
Age: Early Thirties
Race: Human
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 235 lbs
Physical Description: Silas is a hardened man, a once handsome face now scarred with hate filled wrinkles and a nigh permanent scowl. Much of his appearance would suggest a life of frequent travel and combat; ranging from his short blonde hair styled up and out of the way of his piercing blue eyes to his hardy musculature, littered with intricate tattoos (which reach as high as his Adam's apple) that would more than likely convey some specific symbolism when studied.
His clothing is quite noticeably northern and meant for colder weather conditions; his militant body structure peeking out from between layers of hide, fur, and mail, giving him a rather rugged appearance that is only offset by his jewelry, gauntlets, and extensive ear piercings.
Possessions: Silas travels very light with only a few notable articles on his person. His armor was probably standard issue at some point, though it seems to have been layered with fur and leather for the sake of retaining heat. He wears a rather long gold chain around his neck adorned with a six-sided star at the end that rests somewhere at the middle of his chest. He also has his terribly old looking gauntlets with gold inlays at the knuckles.
Powers or Strengths: Silas was always very prominent in magic, though it was universally pertaining to the realm of light and heat. While it was used mostly for the sake of traveling through the thick snow, caves, and blizzards that litter the north, his powers have advanced from simple self-sustaining to actual destructive uses. Silas can use his powers in many ways, whether it be to give off heat, illuminate dark areas, send off bolts of fire and extremely hot light, blind his foes, or other manipulations of fire and light.
Silas is also in rather good shape from traveling/fighting for a good portion of his life. One could call him athletic, maybe even a little stocky.
Silas maintains a rather intermediate intellect. He studied the books of war and wisdom ferociously in his youth, while most of the other Tomes got minimal attention. Most of his knowledge comes into play during combat scenarios, but he certainly applies them to most aspects of his life.
Weaknesses: What with all of Silas' prowess in physical and magical pursuits, he falls short when it comes to human interaction. His mind is plagued by things like racism, arrogance, and is generally closed-minded on the whole. He is quick to anger and easily deceived when it comes to most societal aspects in Marn, as he is a foreigner. He believes his magic is given to him through his religion, and is naturally prone to endanger himself through the belief that his god will protect him. This being said, he is religiously bound to a life of justice and righteousness, and doesn't believe his powers can be used for anything except such.
History: Silas was born in Zhaltev, under a bibliophile of a mother and a merchant father. While their residency lay in the city of shifters, the Agares family did not stay in the same spot for very long due to his father's profession. They frequently made the trip down from Zhaltev along with the rest of the merchant convoys towards Keltaris and eventually Marn. Sailas was only a few years old when his mother discovered his affinity for magic and began his education, which ranged from basic mathematics, minimal geometry, and excerpts of useful information retrieved from the Tomes of the First Settlers. It was mostly due to his father, however, that his interests shifted from books to practicing the archaic religion his father followed and trained his body to adequately protect the caravans from danger as they traveled. They believed in the god Hovea, a long forgotten god of justice and righteous anger. It was not long before his father began to treat him like a tool more than a member of his family. While Silas had occasional outbursts of rebellion, he was too young to deny his father for very long. He had Silas use his magic to keep members of the caravans from freezing, lighting the path through inclement weather, and defending them from monsters that haunted the countryside. Silas underwent this treatment for years, but there came a day when the young man would demand better treatment and his father would deny it too him. Silas was in his mid-twenties when he had his outburst, one so violent that his magic temporarily grew out of control. In a flurry of heat and light, Silas' mother and father died in front of him.
Stricken with grief, Silas threw himself into the religion his was raised under with all of his being. Now that merchanting, the one thing he knew, was out of his life, Silas devoted his life to prayer and training his magics/body and began roaming the countryside in a crusade against all those he deemed "unjust." Whether they be monsters or bandits, it was through Silas' grief and anger that they met their end. He has been at this for 6 years, only recently deciding to attempt to interact with others once again. He would begin in the old farm town of Shim, and inevitably Marn.
