Name: Julius Jenofonte (“Lulu” or “Jules” as well)
Age: 20
Race: Human
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 145 lbs
Physical Description:
Julius has very fair skin, light and smooth, with no markings or scars to be found. His eyes are a vibrant blue just beneath thin lines of dark gold. His hair flows in long, straight, locks of gold; parted from his face and hangs just at the corners of his eyes.
He owns a decent-sized wardrobe of mostly similar clothes. He enjoys his appearance, as he believes he has perfected it, and does not wish to stray from his current image. He commonly wears a black shirt tucked into dark, navy slacks. He is also fond of wearing a pair of leather boots, an even darker shade of blue with a maroon stripe up each side, above all others he owns. To finish this ensemble, Julius dons a family heirloom: a dark, navy jacket that barely hangs over his ribcage with maroon stripes running down each sleeve.
Possessions:
Julius chooses to not put value in keeping many possessions. That being said there are things that no one can part with. Be it for emotion or facade.
Among the things he keeps on hand is a finely crafted lute, lined in gold, with the name “Euphie” engraved in it. The origin of this name will change depending on who Julius is trying to con. He also keeps enough bishani on hand to bribe who he needs to at the time.
He makes his home out of a permanent room at his favorite inn in Marn, Tiger’s Crossing. He pays for his residency by filling the inn with wealthy patrons and joyful music on the nights he is not tempted with crime.
Powers or Strengths:
Julius has no true abilities aside from playing the lute with true grace. He is an experienced liar, schemer, and thief, but he is far from the best. He is skilled enough with makeup to pass as a woman, however it is greatly attributed to his somewhat feminine appearance. Though true education was not provided for Julius, he is considerably more intelligent than he seems. He is proud of his accomplishments, as he should be, but notices that there is much room for improvement.
He is often able to detect the emotions and character of an individual. While not perfect, he uses this to his advantage in finding better prey.
He is wise enough to avoid violent conflicts, most of the time, and he keeps no contact with previous marks. He only remains in contact, or rather keeps tabs on, those he blackmails or extorts from.
Weaknesses:
Julius doesn’t use violence to solve his problems. He has no experience with fighting nor does he own a single weapon. He would rather try to lie or cheat his way out of a sticky situation. If Julius is caught breaking the law he considers it an utter failure on his part and accepts his punishment.
He is truly addicted to crime, notably theft, and can often bite off more than he can chew. His addiction can often lead him into danger, which he tries to avoid. He relies on theatrics and seduction for most of his pickpocketing. If his targets are not easily distracted or have no attraction to young men, he will likely have no luck. He can also be easily identified by common night patrons of Tiger’s Crossing.
He trusts almost no one and sees others as tools to better himself or marks for extortion. He prefers to work alone, but will occasionally employ the help of another urchin or prostitute to aid him in a simple task. He believes these individuals are amateurs, however, and prefers not to associate with them.
History:
Julius was born the only child of a small, somewhat wealthy, family in Shim. His parents were loving and kind, but taught him little in the ways of discipline. If young Lulu desired something, his parents provided it for him. While having everything you want can be glorious to some, Julius knew he did not want such a life. At the age of 9 he realized that his boyish charm could be used to his advantage. He saw something that he wanted and took it, the fact that he could afford it be damned. When approached by the shopkeeper, he weaved a tale of woe and misery, one that brought the man to his knees to embrace the child. This moment was the birth of the true Julius Jenofonte.
By 16, Julius had developed into a captivating, forbidden fruit to certain townsfolk of Shim. His eyes were set on a greater prize, however. Young Julius preyed after a man who had been staying at The Red Chalice inn. This man was a drifter with a talent for magic and a craving for young flesh. The last night of the man’s stay in Shim, Julius made an arrangement with the man: a service in exchange for a service. Only a few short days after the drifter’s departure, Julius set off for life in Marn. He took with him only his favorite jacket, the money he had “earned”, and a beautifully crafted lute.
Upon arriving in Marn, Julius had his sights set high. He desired luxury, wealth, and pleasure, and knew how to acquire them all. His first purchase was a makeup kit, which went to good use. His appearance compounded with proper use of makeup gave him the face and allure of a young woman. With this new disguise he lured a finely-dressed man into his clutches and robbed him of his clothes, or rather picked them up off the ground and slipped away. With his new fancy attire he appeared as an aristocratic youth with a talent for music, and used the facade to earn a home and lover for many months.
In recent months his tastes have moved more towards theft from wealthy homes and blackmailing businessmen. What he steals he fences or gives to someone who could use the pick-me-up, as he only keeps money. He never gets seen with what he fences. He uses whatever disguises he can think of to stay hidden. He set up a constant income and permanent home in Tiger’s Crossing three years after his arrival in Marn. The money is mostly for show as he makes his living picking pockets, one Bishan at a time.
He has a notable wealth stashed away in Tiger's Crossing. The owner, Mr. Svirepyy, is one of the few people in the world he trusts. He saw through Julius's schemes the first time they met. Since then they've acquired a respect for each other. Svirepyy keeps Julius's money hidden in the wine cellar after Julius paid for renovations to the inn.
His only true goal or ambition is to live. He desires nothing greater than to continue his way of life. If that way of life was threatened he would resort to any methods necessary. He would betray or harm anyone he had to, putting his own life in jeopardy, because any other life is not worth living.

We highly, highly encourage new players to be proactive in looking for rp. Not looking for a suitable character or player to rp with as a first-time-player can often result in sitting idle for weeks or months. Never be afraid to ask to join a thread you might be interested in (though be aware that some threads can be very slow, and be sure to ask yourself just how long you're willing to waste for a post. Always ask those in an ongoing thread how slow the thread is if you want something fast) or to ask a player in chat or a pm if they want to set up rp. We've all done it!

Plot ideas and looking for characters can be found here.
As a first time player, never post in those threads and expect to get into a thread immediately! Most often characters available for plots are from established players who leave their characters there in the event that new or old players might be in need of a thread -- so be proactive!
Happy writing!
