A Voice from the Past

Post by Saruna » Thu Jan 16, 2014 5:18 am

Availability: Ask in thread, pretty much closed but you never know with brainstorming!

Posting Speed: Standard, with forgiveness around exam times.

Characters Involved: The Raven Basilards, Boy (NPC), Jester (NPC)

Thread starting date: Spring 122PW

Location: Various places through Marn.

Summary: There are two statues in Marn with very strange properties. They had waited untouched for some time, collected and discarded before they could do their work. Then they were awakened, held in the sweaty palms of a young boy, stored, and stolen again. They did not care for what happened in the world, or who claimed them: they had one purpose. They had been crafted for one of the legendary Raven Basilards, to guide their holders closer to that crafty blade in order to provide a suitable host. Now, each of them is held by such a person: a nameless boy, and a woman called Jester.

The Basilard has been waiting for a long time for a suitable host, and now it has two potentials. However, immediate acquisition of them has proven impossible: they are both pursued by men who think to own the statues. Before the Basilard can pull them in, they both must first escape whatever pursuit has followed them, and then avoid detection all the way to where the Basilard lays dormant.

Much is at stake. For all of them.

Other Notes:

This thread is a follow up to what happened to Boy and Jester after their disappearances in the thread In for a Bishan.

This thread will run concurrently with and eventually intersect with the thread In for a Pounding

Kit would you prefer to start with a basilard opening with it becoming aware of what's going on, or a boy/jester thing?

How does this affect Quenta?

It shouldn't at all, it's one of the other two remaining basilards -- unless you guys come up with some brilliant plan. ;)

I'd be happy to start with a basilard post, probably to establish where it is at and stuff like that. I will get to that in a couple hours.

I decided to start it under an old factory in the industrial district. With a dead guy.
Whoops, I made an immortal. You guys better ban me before it is too late.

So, I think the basilard pretty much has no excuse not to possess the boy anymore. They are far away from stuff, nobody knows where they are... the basilard would have plenty of time to learn to use a body.
