IN-DEPTH STUFF

Physical Description:
Slypsa is a blonde haired, blue eyed bombshell. Omigod, the girl is a knockout. She's had her share of lovers, but nothing really ever comes of it. She's thin, but not too skeletal...on her lithe frame, she's got a nice chest and proportional hips, but that's about it. She usually wears pastels...the blues, greens, corals, yellows...things of that sort. Her dress is long, she never wears the skirts above her shins. Her hair is platinum blonde...so light it's almost white, and she keeps it very long...usually it's combed back from her face, but if she were to let it down it would reach her knees. She's of Elven ancestors, so her eyes are crystalized and her ears are somewhat pointed. Her skin is fair and there's not a freckle on her body.

Beauty only runs skin deep, they say...aside from being the most beautiful girl in the village, Slypsa also happens to be the village idiot. She's not too bright as far as common sense goes! Her nickname around the village is “Slip”...but Slypsa doesn't know that the name came about when a few of the townsfolk agreed that her mental status “slips” every five minutes. Now, when it comes to money and the items she peddles...that's where she shines. She's very careful to play the business and get her profit when she sells her stuff....but other than that, she's pretty stupid. She's a nice kid, though...she's all about treating you like you're worthy, even if you're not.

Possessions:
Slypsa has a familiar, if you can call him that. A black terrier was hurt in the woods behind her village when Slypsa was fifteen, obviously from a fight with a wolf. Slypsa took him home and nursed him back to health with the new name of Chancey...because he got his second chance when he came to live with her. The dog looks a lot like the dog Toto from the Wizard of Oz, but is a lot smarter. Definitely smarter than Slypsa, that's for sure. Heh. Chancey serves as guard dog, best friend, helper and conversation starter.

Because Slypsa isn't too keen on using her voice when she gets into a confrontational scrape, she carries a small dagger. She uses it mostly for cutting wildlife to get berries or other herbs and things...but she carries it with her everywhere, on her belt, just in case she needs to keep her distance from somebody unfriendly. Unfortunately, Slypsa has no idea how to wield it or even use it for protection. She constantly wonders where she'd find someone to teach her this skill.

Powers/Strengths:
Slypsa has a couple of physical abilities:

Screaming: She can scream at the highest pitch possible and shatter your life. That is, if you scare her so bad that she starts screaming, you're gonna die. Something about that pitch...when she lets go with a scream, it pretty much scrambles your brain, busts your eardrum and stops your heart all at the same time...and you drop like a hot potato, dead before you even hit the ground.

Invisibility: Slypsa can fade away if she wants to. If she's in a sticky situation, she can go into another room and become a being of fog. You can still see her, just not in human form. She usually takes the form of air that you gotta squint to see through, or she takes on the form of the air right above a flame that burns. If you know this ability of hers, you'll be able to tell she's still with you (unless she's left the area) because the air around you will be colder than anywhere else.

Animal Speak: Slypsa can talk to animals...any animals...and find out what they need. Whatever ails them, whatever she can do to aid them in their lives, she will find out what they need and provide them with it. This is how she seduced Chancey to be hers.

Weaknesses/Flaws:
I'm thinking that Slypsa's powers and strengths are also...her weaknesses and flaws. Depending on how you look at the situation where they're used. Along side of those:

Slypsa can't run very fast. If she's chasing something, it'll usually get away from her at a faster pace than she's running. If she's running away from something, it will most definitely catch her.

She's clumsy as all hell. Put something in her hands when she's distracted with something else, and it will be on the floor in under two minutes.

History:
Slypsa's parents were kind people, a little below average in workman's class wealth. They raised her to respect all mankind, but to argue her point when she felt she had something worthwhile to say. When Slypsa was ten, she was encouraged by her parents to peddle items of interest and found that she was really good at the task. By age thirteen she was well known in the community and was welcome in any shop or trade shack. Her parents (and most of her peers) knew with disheartened fondness that she would never be of royalty...even if she married into it...she was just not that type of girl. Stupid is as stupid does, she now lives carefree in a small house on her parent's property, peddling her wares with not a care as to what happens next.

She's well known for having a level head when it comes to fear, though...people that know her (and know her background) realize that it's sooo not a good idea to scare her, trip her up, frighten her for fun... If she lets out that scream, all will be lost, including your life. It's been tried before, as some of her late friends have sadly found out. Slypsa isn't concerned with tragedy, though. All things that happen to her are just a part of life.
