Physical Description===
Maya is a thin willow whip of a woman. A small scar stretches down her right cheek. Her body is small and frail; she lacks a healthy womanly figure. Her breasts are hardly noticeable, her hips are boney and stick out unlike a woman’s should. Her face would be round if her cheeks would fill out. Maya’s eyes are an olive green with flecks of gold near the center. The skin around her eyes is pink, ever since she fell ill when she was a child she has looked rather sickly. Her hair is the color of blood, and falls to her waist in a mousey tangled mess.
Maya wears anything she can get her hands on; she does not care much about her appearance. As long as the clothes don’t fall off she will wear it. She has had the same pair of brown leather boots for years and they are well worn and soft. The only piece of clothing she hold dear is a bracelet made of mismatched beads tied around her left wrist.
Maya’s body language is indicative of someone who tries to go unseen; she does not wish to draw attention to herself. She tends to make herself as small as possible, and prefers to stare at the ground rather than meet a person’s eyes. She can often be caught staring off into nothing, as if she sees things that aren’t there.

Powers or Strengths===
Speed
-She can sprint for a short period of time, but her body lacks the stamina to run long distances.
Illusions

-If someone was to try and touch one of her illusions their hands would simply go straight though.

History====
Before Maya lived in Marn she lived with her parents outside of Cenciu Quijas. They had a house in the woods where her father made a living with a small farm. They raised chickens, and grew vegetables. They had few neighbors, but the ones they did have were kind. Maya’s childhood was a happy one, full of magic and love. She grew up unafraid to use her powers, and even created an illusion she called Tier, her not so imaginary friend.
Maya’s parents died from fever when she was seven, Maya caught it as well but managed to fight through the sickness only to come to and realize she was without a family. The only relative her neighbors could track down was her Uncle on her mother’s side that lived in Marn. He agreed to take her in, though he was not too happy about the situation.
Maya’s uncle lived in a small house with his wife. Both were strong Puradynes, and worried that Maya had inherited her mother’s wild spirit and love of magic. From the day she stepped foot inside her uncle’s house she was taught magic was unacceptable. They took careful steps in teaching Maya how terrible magic is, and even made her volunteer three times a week at the Temple to further cement the belief. She grew to enjoy the people of the Temple, they were kind to her. She never made it apparent she didn’t take to the Puradynes’ beliefs, and when asked to attend the congregation in worship she would always come up with an excuse. Maya refuses to believe magic is actually bad, her father was fae and was a good man.
Her uncle only gave her what was necessary; her room was the smallest in the house and was a bit drafty. He was always silently judging her, and when he wasn’t silent he was yelling. He told Maya her mother was a tramp, and that her father’s magic had corrupted her. He treated Maya as less than a person, because she was the spawn of his sister’s corruption.
She learned to be silent, curling up into her own world and blocking what was happening around her out. Her own world was so much easier, and it contained her dear friend Tier. Soon she had withdrawn inside herself, and was only awake to real world when she needed to be. Her home life only got worse, as her Uncle refused to let her sit at the dinner table, he had started having marital problems and believed Maya to be the cause of the bad energy. She was fed bread and rice in her room instead.
Things got really bad when her uncle’s wife left him. He blamed Maya. He insisted that because of her blood she had corrupted his house, causing his marriage to fall apart. But it wasn’t that at all, his wife just had eyes for a particular spice merchant who was better off.
In a fit of rage her uncle made her leave, throwing her out on the street at the age of seventeen. She had no money, nowhere to go. She had no applicable skills. She took up residence in the ruins, and continued to work at the temple for food and nourishment. She never felt save in the ruins, she didn’t like the way some men seemed to stare at her.
One night she came back to her little tent and it was destroyed, all of her food and trinkets she had gathered were gone. She was so distraught that instead of sleeping in her ruined tent she decided to explore the city further. She could never sleep well anyway. She stumbled upon something curious that night, underneath the ruins. She found a network of tunnels, and a community of people.
The tunnel community was an answer to her problems; the people were different from the people above them. She felt more secure in the darkness, away from the large crowds of people. They respected each other even though they were different. Most importantly they respected her space. She wasn’t afraid of the monsters rumored to be the tunnels; she knew the real monsters were above her.
Maya continued to help the temple, and in return they provided her with small amounts of food left over from their gatherings. She even managed to bathe every now and then at the temple. She could see the pity in the people’s eyes at the temple but she didn’t mind, most of them left her alone. Maya also knew she needed the food desperately, no one would hire her. They took one look at her scruffy mismatched clothes and hurried her on her way far away from them.
She has been a part of the tunnel community now for some time, and has even made a few friends. She aspires to get a job so that she may support herself better. She is a decent artist, and has been known to sell her sketches at the Temple to some members of the congregation. One day she wants to go back and visit her parent's house and maybe try to live there, she has been saving money and hiding it away ever since she started selling her sketches.
