Age: 21
Race: Mostly Human / Unknown small sliver of Elf from her mother's side
Family:
- ~ Father -> Thanos Keres (deceased)
~ Mother -> Allessa Keres (deceased)
Weight: 95 lbs.
Physical Description:
With brown curls that go a few inches past her shoulders, Aislin has a round face with often rosy cheeks and honey gold eyes. Her skin is pale, either from her deceased mother or her lack of sunlight, she doesn't know. Her skin vacant of any beauty marks or freckles. However, lurking beneath her clothes, she has a scar that stretches from her left shoulder to the center of her mid-back from a mental break that involved a shattered mirror and lashing out whilst still mostly present in the Astral plane. Personality:
Socially awkward due to her upbringing, she redeems herself with an immense amount of patience. She has a fiery temper when she gets truly angry and can be as stubborn as a mule, much to her father's disappointment.
Her imagination runs as wild as she does (or would), often daydreaming of what could be. Curious in nature, she's learned, with much difficulty, to obey her father's demands - although, her curiosity is dragging her towards the door now that he's gone. However, an unusual, timid fear of the outside world has her questioning what's best for her. For now.
Possessions:
- ~ Pendant that was previously her mother's (No known magical capabilities)
~ A bow that's a bit too big for her
~ Recently deceased Father's spice shop
~ Small home in Marn
- One story and falling apart on the outside, the inside of this small home is much more neatly kept by Aislin's idle hands. The front door opens into the kitchen and adjoined breakfast nook, furnished with only necessities. Connected by an archway on the right wall, one would find a little sitting area with a couch, chair, and fireplace. Beyond that are two bedrooms, one formerly being Allessa's and Thanos's, and then Aislin's own room. With a bed, wardrobe, bookshelf, and chair, she has what she considers to be a comfortable living space, but perhaps that's just because that's all she knows.
- This small shop was started by Thanos Keres in hopes of making a good profit and living for his family. With tough competition, however, it proves to be much more work than he expected. Unlike his home, he upkeeps his shop very well - shelves lined with spices from all over, spice books and recipes, and the likes fill the shop. However, with the death of Thanos, Aislin isn't sure what to do with the shop. She isn't a business woman nor socialable - she's contemplating selling the shop for useful Bishan instead.
Powers or Strengths:
- ~ Ability to flicker into the 'Astral plane' (Although currently unknown, this gift naturally stems from her mother's side, where there was an Elf a few generations back. The ability happens randomly, seeming to have no triggers thus far. It is currently uncontrolled, although she has managed to force herself to jump onto the Astral plane a few times - something she is trying to work on. However, she has always been pulled back from the Astral plane unwillingly, sometimes from shock, surprise, or unknown reasons. Whilst it's usually just her mind that transfers planes, the few times she's "forced" herself brought her body and a whole new experience. This ability gives her a clearer view of the world around her, although abstractly. She has learned, over the many years, to interrupt and understand the riddles and mazes that lie for her in the other plane. And with more practice, she hopes to learn to completely control this gift.)
~ Quite clever in an abstract way (i.e. -> Riddles, puzzles, etc.)
- ~ Unsocialized/Socially Awkward (Fails to understand common social norms, social etiquette, and what's right and wrong. A bit like a child, in this area.)
~ Frequent Headaches
~ Mentally unstable (Prone to breakdowns that include withdrawal into the mind, jumbled up and slurred speech, and occasionally physical lashing out. Blackouts can happen in extreme cases. [More in "History"])
~ May seem "crazy" to the average person ([/i]Between her lack of social life and mental instability, she's a bit off. She often talks to herself, a habit developed to keep herself entertained and with some sort of "company". Her childlike actions also don't fit how one would think a twenty-one year old lass would act.[/i])
History:
Born to a spice business man and a loving woman, Aislin never quite seemed normal. It wasn't until she was two that her father came to realize she was gifted in a way he despised. The Astral plane didn't exist to him and nothing she said would change his ways of life. However, thanks to her mother, Aislin wasn't abandoned or worse. She was raised as any child, with the exception of having little outside experience.
Whatever love she received ended with the death of her mother on the eve of her sixth birthday, when criminals broke into the spice shop. Whilst the men were caught by the guardsmen of Marn, nothing could be done for the woman. There on out, her harsh father completely kept her hidden away and rarely interacted or spoke to her. Despising his own creation, he went about his daily life and only supported her with the bare minimum, if just out of respect to his dead wife's wishes.
Without anyone or anything from the outside world to keep her life interesting, she took an interest in the strange place she would appear at times. There was an underlining beauty to that world. And more than that, there was freedom. Yet, freedom comes with a cost and her cost quickly became her sanity. The more time she spent in "her world", the less stable she became. She started having mental breaks, going into fits of murmuring or sometimes even screams. Her eyes would be glazed, often looking through what was truly around her as her mind simple couldn't grasp on what plane she was. And in the worst of the "breaks", she'd get violent towards Thanos because in her mind, it was her father that was tearing her from where she really wanted to be - in "her world".
Now at age twenty one, the sudden death of her father has freed her in every way she never had. She had heard his stories of the outside world, she had watched days passed by through the window pane, but what if her fantasy of the outside wasn't anything near reality? Unsure what to do with herself, she's kept to the house, yet aware that someday, she'd have to emerge into the world. With no interaction with people outside of either of her parents, she wasn't sure what would be waiting out there for her. Would people look at her with the hatred she saw in her father's eyes every day or were there people that will embrace her as she was, like her mother had?
