Mid-Winter 120PW
The wind whistled through the thin walls of the small house. The glass panes rattling loud in their wooden frames, threatening to rip themselves free of their prison. The rain, like bullets, pounded upon the slate roof. Vincent sighed as he wrapped himself in a thin blanket and stared out at the winter weather outside. The fields would be sodden, but it wouldn't matter. He didn't need to sow or harvest at this time of year after all.
The moon, tonight showing itself as a crescent, shone down upon the small farmstead. It illuminated the small barn just opposite the window at which Vincent stood, outlining the cracks and knots of the wood. Tomorrow he would be out in those muddy fields, lugging flour and lettuce into to the main area of shim in an attempt to sell it. Another sigh escaped from his lungs. It would be a long day.
Vincent looked around his small abode, and glanced at the bed. It was about time for him to sleep. He took one last glance outside over his livelihood, the muddy fields, under attack from the clouds, his barn and the strange man entering it. He turned away from the window and wandered to his bed, lying down and staring at the ceiling.
Wait... Strange man, in his barn?
He jumped up and threw off his blanket. What was a stranger doing in his barn? He grabbed the sickle hanging by his door and stepped outside. The wind caught him off guard, and he stumbled. Fighting the weather he trudged his way to the barn, his feet sticking in the mud. He reached the door of the barn, and struggled against the wind to open in and confront the trespasser.
"What the hell are you doing in my barn?!"
A Stormy Night
Re: A Stormy Night
On the stormy night, a traveler looking for shelter from the blistering wind and drenching rain, stumbled upon a farm. The main Village still a distance away, it seemed like the best option for now...
The heading to the barn, was wearing a rain soaked cloak draped over his head, not doing much to keep him dry. He was hunched over as he ran towards the barn, noticing the house lights are still on. Though he preferred being found than spending anymore time in this weather, just hoping that he could sneak in without being seen, as human contact isn't is specialty.
As he entered the barn, he was met with lots of bundles of hay, luckily none of them wet. Though there was a rather large hole in the ceiling with water dripping down into a rusty bucket below. The strange man wandered into the large barn and looked for the best spot to sleep, he found a nice section in the corner and threw off his cloak, splattering on the floor as the water seeped out.
While the man was attempting to make his bed for the night, the barn door flew open along with the voice of a seemingly angry farmer.
The strange man jumped in fright when he heard the shout of the farmer, quickly pulling himself up onto one of the hay bales and hiding behind them. It was obvious the man saw him, but he still hid behind the bales, not moving or replying back to the farmer...
