Physical Description:
From a far, Nivy could easily be mistaken for a human child but upon closer inspection his more alien attributes become apparent. The young Gnome's skin is light blue with slight metallic accents and His hair is sparkling silver. Nivy's eyes are larger than the typical human and have deep charcoal black irises that encompass most if not all of his eyes. His nose is almost non existant to the point where it seems more like a small bump on his face than an acual nose. Nivy's most striking feature However, would be the long horn composed of amethyst coloured crystal protruding from his forehead.

Nivy has little to know masculine traits and as a result is often mistaken for a member of the opposite sex. Nivy's facial features and slight build are considered very feminine by Gnome and even other humanoids standards. To add to this misconception, Nivy's hair grows rapidly and instead of cutting it he ties it into a long braid that falls down to his knees.

Nivy's style of dress is fairly eclectic, He likes to cover himself in various different kinds of layered cloth and jewelry he finds interesting. Everything from gears, to animal teeth, to exotic scarfs, he wears it all. He loves to crochet and a lot of his clothing are his own bizarre creations.

Personality: Nivy is a relitivly happy and friendly little guy. He enjoys meeting new people and having a fun. The young gnome loves to laugh and make other people laugh. Nivy normally does a good job making others laugh but some of his jokes can


Possessions:
- Several different sizes of crochet hooks
- A small house in the residential district of Marn that he shares with his two moms
- 50 Bishan
- A brightly coloured Umbrella with a bit of mechanical gnome enhancements that his mother Melgrin constructed. The tip at the top of the umbrella can deliver a shock on contact when a button on the handle is pressed. The Umbrella needs an hour between useses to cool down or it will explode. The umbrellas cloth made out of magically infusesed fibres that make it fire proof and can give Nivy some protection from that element.


Powers or Strengths:

Insect Homonculi: Nivy possess an odd mixture of magic, It is most likely caused by the nature magic of Nivy's unicorn father and the technical gnome mind inherited from his mother merging to together. Whatever the case Nivy is some how able to construct insect like creatures with his mind using things mostly found in nature. He discovered this ability when he was simply staring at some old twigs and leaves on the ground. Nivy had a sudden vision of the otherwise worthless materials potential and before his eyes his first droid constructed itself in front of him. The First droid was in the shape of a spider and it was able to produce thread which Nivy used to crochet. Nivy put little thought into how the thread was produced he just though it was a natural thing for a spider to do. Nivy named the spider Yarna and since Nivy had little friends growing he saw Yarna as a dear companion.

As Nivy grew up he created more droids, a wasp named Vespa, a dragonfly named Scorch, and a butterfly named Mist. Vespa had the ability to shoot stingers at its foes, that contained poisons strong enough to weaken targets and give them minor Hallucinations. Scorch was able to breath fire with only the enough intensity to burn foes. Finally Mist has powder in his wings that can promote fast healing. Mist healing powder could only heal wounds twice as fast as they would normally heal but it was still very useful for preventing heavy bleeding by causing the wound to scab faster.

The few Gnomes that know of Nivy's talent believe that his unicon horn is used as a psychic antenna that is connected to the creative part of Nivy's brain allowing him to construct the droids with his mind. Nivy doesn't agree with this theory and is convinced that they are just as alive as he is. In support of Nivy's view. all four droids show characteristics of the insects they represent but also show a bit of intelligence and personality for time to time and don't always listen to Nivy. They naturally adapt and strengthen themselves by adding more durable parts to their body. Like metal gears and small rocks.

Psychic powers: In support of the opposing theory, Nivy has other powers that seem psychic in nature. He can understand the basic thoughts of simple minded creatures that are in his vicinity and can sometimes feel strong emotions around him.

Nimble: Nivy has quick reflex's mostly from having to dodge things being thrown at him by bullies growing up.

Good at hiding: To those that do not possess magical understanding Nivy's earth toned skin and hair blend in well with most things and his small stature helps him hide better than the taller races.

Personality: despite being an outcast most of his life Nivy has managed to stay fairly optimistic and is usually pleasant to be around. He has a sense of humour and a great deal of empathy for those around him. Hes also pretty darn cute, very few can deny this.

Crafts Person: Nivy is very good at crocheting, and knows how to make simple garments and stuffed animals with relative ease. He has a lot of creativity and tends to make unique creations with bold colours and interesting material inclusions.

Weaknesses:

Flimsy Droids: Nivy's droids are not very durable and break when enough force is applied to them. Once broken Nivy needs to find materials of a very specific calibre to rebuild his droids again.

Physical limitations: Nivy is very short but also pathetically weak. This means that he constantly has trouble reaching things, he walks slow and he can't carry very much. While he is fairly nimble he is also mildly klutzy at the same time causing him to occasionally injure himself when evading attacks.

Sore Thumb: Nivy's brightly coloured hair and crystal horn make him sand out like a sore thumb.

Psychic feed back: Having Psychic abilities isn't without it's price, when around a lot of people feeling strong emotions Nivy can feel nauseous, drained and even faint from the strain. Nivy doesn't have as much trouble with animals but if a large group of animals surrounded him, he might feel the same affects. He also picks up radio signals causing him to hear random messages from wocky talkies or commands sent to electronic devices .

: because of the pure Unicorn goodness running through his veins, he tends to be seen as a rare delicacy to many less desirable creatures. Some more intelligent creatures may want to use him as a power source for their evil ritual or mechanical creation but most just want to eat him. Some just want his horn because it would make an interesting trophy.

Technologically inept: Gnomes are known for their ability to make technology, Nivy on the other hand is an exception to this rule. He tried his hardest to be a skilled engineer but everything he makes seems to ether not work or explode.

Personality flaws: Nivy was not unscathed from his tough child hood and occasionally shows social anxiety and low self esteem in certain situations. He also a bit on the eccentric side, he likes strange clothes that most would find ugly and he eats food that most would find disgusting. While his sense of humour usually makes him fun to be around he also enjoys pulling peoples chairs out from under them or tying peoples shoe laces together. Nivy also seems to have a problem with collecting random things he finds interesting, this could be anything from a shiny button to an old key. While this isn't a serious problem he tends to accumulate a lot of worthless junk.

Racism: Due to magic running through Nivys blood he tends to have trouble being in close proximity of Dwarfs. While their presence doesn't kill him, it leaves him powerless and since his magic is derived from goodness Nivy's personality makes a 180. He becomes a depressed and surly individual who isn't very pleasant to be around. This causes Nivy to be fearful of Dwarfs and even personally resent them.

Weakness to steel: When Nivy touches Steel he feels uncomfortable and a bit sick so he avoids things made of this material.

History:
To make a long set of paragraphs short:
-Nivy was born of a shape shifting unicon named Nivrexis and a gnome woman named Mary sue
-Mary sue died, The unicorn father was exiled to the astral plane
-adopted by lesbian gnomes
-was an outcast growing up and went through depression
-discovered he had powers
-became happier and set out to find a career in textiles and find his unicorn father.

Unicorns are mighty fey creatures that live in the Astral plane. These creatures are elusive and secretive, rarely ever interacting with other beings. One thing that people do know about them is that they are the guardians of innocence. Nivy's biological father Nivrexis was a Unicorn and like others of his kind he swore to protect innocence at any cost. His vow led him to Nivy's mother Mary Sue who despite her age had kept a strong hold on her innocence. To insure that Mary sue kept her purity the unicorn took the form of a Gnome so that he could stay close to her. What nether of them expected was the love that they would come to share for each other. After a year of their tender love affair Mary sue found herself pregnant with Nivrexis's child. The two were over joyed until the time to deliver the child had arrived, that's when things went wrong.

Giving birth to a child with a horn on his head, it was a miracle poor Mary sue survived carrying the baby to term. The birthing process was a horrible sight, as Mary sue payed for her child life with her death. After leading to the death of the one He was sworn to protect, Nivrexis was exiled from the maternal plane leaving his child with out a parent. Luckily for the child a good friend of Mary sue was willing to raise the orphan, this woman’s name was Melgrin.

Melgrin had always wanted a child, and her wife Kellia Shared in this desire. Since they were both female they couldn't have children the natural way, they also found the prospect of sleeping with a man to be kind of gross. So while Melgrin was deeply saddened by her close friend she was happy to have the opportunity to raise a child. The two women decided to name the child Nivexis (as well as a slew of other names) after the child’s father despite the fact that they hated the man, for the two mothers knew it would be what Mary sue would want. The child soon adopted the nick name Nivy as Nivrexis didn't seem to suit the happy child.

Melgrin and Kellia made great parents for the young Nivy, they sung songs, had epic broccoli eating contests and pretended to be alien creatures with him. They were a bit concerned with his inability to understand simple gnome engineering toys, showing only the technical know how of the typical human child but figured he was just slow to develop. When Nivy reached school age he had trouble relating to the other children especially gnome children who already had the basic knowledge of technology that Nivy lacked. He soon became a target for bullies for his lack of technical know how but also because oh his strange and feminine appearance and behaviour.

The cruelty of his class mates made Nivy fall into depression and most of his time was spent alone in his room. His mothers talked to the school and even confronted the parents of the bullies but even when the bullies left Nivy alone he was still felt that he didn't belong. One night while sleeping Nivy had a strange dream that he in a surreal location and was talking to a unicorn. The next day Nivy's powers started to become reveal themselves, first in the creation of Yarna his spider robot creation made of twigs who quickly became an imaginary friend to the lonely Gnome. Nivy also found that he could sense his mothers feelings before he even saw them, and could read the thoughts of animals.

Nivy was starting to become more happy with his new powers and told his mothers right away about his new discovery. They were relieved to see that their son was starting to finally leave his depression behind but knew that magic was illegal so in the most diplomatic way possible they told their child to keep his special abilities a secret. Like any child, Nivy wanted to tell the world about the new thing he was good at but he didn't want to disappoint his mothers so instead he just passed his powers off as keen insight and crafting abilities (in the case of Yarna). Nivy didn't make friends over night and was still very much an outcast, but with the mild shed of confidence he gained he was able to seek out other outcasts and make them cheer them up.

Nivy eventually learned to have a sense of humour about things and hurtful words didn't affect him as much. He still wanted very much to gain some understanding of Engineering but has put most of his focus into becoming a textile artist as he has discovered he has talent for Crocheting garments and objects. It didn't take him long to realize that his mothers were not his biological parents and while he loved them dearly he wants to know his origins and discover more about the source of his powers.

Okidokes -- you can cut out the summaries. Either people read shit here or they don't, and usually if they don't they tend to not stick around.

Posessions: Taser is a company name and as such you won't be able to call his device that. Second, there would not be the infrastructure necessary for gnomes to create a device that is an exact replica of what we currently use. So while having some sort of stun device is an okay thing to create, make it the magical gnome-tech Thar version. Creativity there is encouraged.

It would seem there is indeed unicorn fondling going on. As there are many different kinds of unicorns in mythology (and as far as I know none of them were able/did create inter-species children), I'd like a little more information on the type of unicorn you have in mind. I know you describe a little bit in the history, but I'd like to have you do a write up for them here so I can better understand where you're coming from.

Droid is a word that has a fairly narrow definition. I'd like you to come up with a more fantasy friendly word for Niv's creations. Speaking of, what are they made of? Can he reinforce them? Are they all fragile or only some?

What are his limitations on this ability? Can he make whatever he wants? Can he make however many he wants? I need to see some limitations on this ability.

For psychic powers please define 'simple-minded creatures'. Bugs? Squirrels? Dogs? Stupid people?

Thar isn't really built around good vs evil; most things are in morally grey areas. As such I'd like you to avoid having a weakness that revolves around 'evil' things wanting to eat him. Maybe use another word/more neutral concept? In your history you have his dad sworn to protect innocence, so perhaps you can go at it from that angle -- sorta purity vs corruption of purity (though since very few people would count as wholly pure, that might not be the best bet either).

The personality flaws feel a bit off to me. He has a good sense of humor that others enjoy but also encompasses acting like a little shit. I don't connect to him starting out depressed and then turning it around. Was his powers the sole reason for this change?

Racism - I have no idea how or why it is that dwarves cause him to lose his powers and why you labeled it racism. Please add to this to better explain how it works.

Weakness to steel - it is a blend of metals and other agents. There are different types of steels, especially depending on the process used to make it. Is it a certain mixture that he has a bad reaction to? A certain kind of processing? Something in the steel itself?

You really want to name his mom Mary Sue?

I'm just gonna point out here that most horned animals tend to be born without horns, namely for the very reason in your app: uteruses aren't generally designed to be carrying sharp objects. How do unicorns themselves deal with this? Is it a given that most female unicorns only have one baby?

If Nivrexis was exiled why wasn't the baby taken with him? If they are supposedto protect innocence why would they leave a newborn to a possibly awful fate?

I'm not sure why Niv would have trouble relating to all kids. Besides being part unicorn, what's so different about him? Sure, I can understand not being able to get along with other gnome kids, kinda (not all gnomes are engineers, either, or good with technology), but how would that stop him from bonding with other species? Sure I can understand him being bullied, but in a mixing pot of some truly weird species he's not able to find even a single friend?

I'd like you to clarify the how of this.

I don't really have a good grasp of who Niv is and what makes him tick. I understand he was bullied, and he felt like an outcast, but how we go from miserable kid point a to . . . .what, a well adjusted adult? Does he have any lingering social issues? When did he decide to get into textiles?

Please focus a little more on who he is. Also where did all his names come from? Is that a gnomish tradition specific to his mothers' race?
