Rhyn's ears flattened, but she didn't speak up against Kaevad's words. Better to remain silent. She drained the rest of the ale in her mug and slammed it down on the table as she moved towards the stairs. Her tail jerked back and forth and then calmed as she climbed the stairs and as soon as they were out of sight she slid away from Kaevad's touch. Inside their room, she rounded upon him, fists clenched to keep her claws in. "Pet?!" She snarled and turned away from him, stalking over the small window and opening it, leaning out slightly into the night to get rid of a small amount of claustrophobia.

Her voice rumbled in response to Soneya's question. 'Better to send them to where men are wanted." She turned and the sound of claws ripping through wood came as she left clawmarks on the window sill. Her tail lashed back and forth from beneath her grey cloak, and she found herself continuing to claw at the sill.

He had been expecting the anger, and sat beside Soneya, watching her almost easily. "Aye, pet. Men think a little differently then women, Rhyn." His tail wagged slightly, bumping Soneya. He glanced back before raising his tail to 'tickle' her, the tip wiggling across her sides and belly before rising up to tap her nose. He didn't have a super flexible tail by any means, but if he angled it right, it worked.

He looked back to Rhyn, watching her carefully. He wasn't sure if he should let her loose on the men below or just let her cool down up here and let her sleep off the mad. His problem, however, was solved when a drunk stumbled into the room. "I though' you coul' use some heeeelp-puh." He announced with a wild wave of his hands. Kaevad's eyes widened before his eyes narrowed. "I assure you-" "NO need t'thank me! 'ere ladies, enjooooy." He purred, dropping his pants and undergarments in one fell swoop.

Kaevad was kind enough to spread his wings enough to hide the view from Soneya, but he wouldn't have enough of a reach to stop Rhyn if she decided to... 'play'. Poor man.... he just wanted some ass.

Soneya needed a few tries before she caught Kaevad’s tail and kept it away from her nose, as that tickled more than when he lightly trailed it over her sides, curiously enough. She forced down the giggles however so as not to infuriate Rhyn in case the catwoman took it the wrong way if she was enjoying herself again quicker than Rhyn. Of course, the whole thing was shaking her up a bit but the fact that she had grown up around people who didn’t necessarily marry for love, she knew that some men didn’t particularly care for their women, and thus she didn’t put as much weight on Kaevad’s words as Rhyn had. She simply took them for what they had been, a means to an end.

Before she could say anything in that respect however, the door suddenly burst open and a man just randomly stumbled in dropping his pants. Soneya slammed herself back into the wall, pressing herself into the latter and the blanket against herself, before Kaevad already pulled his wing up in front of her eyes, not wanting her to see what was exposed in the middle of the room. That, she really did not want to see and she was glad for the dragon shifter’s quick reaction, though the blanket had already been halfway up to her face as well. Seeing Kaevad fully naked had been one thing, but this drunkard? Hell, no!

This would definitely bring problems however and Soneya wasn’t quite sure who started it first but there definitely was a lot of venting anger going on.

There was a ripping sound as the door slammed open. Claws rent through wood, leaving even more deep gashes on the sill. Her hackles rose, and Rhyn reached up to unclip her cloak's clasp. The wool fabric fell to the floor at her paws, and she turned as the man dropped his pants, exposing himself. Her eyes scanned over the situation swiftly, coldly, not particularly caring about the drunk. Kaevad was protecting Soneya, but he was not there to stop her now.

Pent up anger from such blatant display of disrespect flared in her eyes and without a sound, Rhyn launched herself at the man. There was no snarl, no warning growl. A silent hunter, one from the reaches where the smallest sound may cause an avalanche, was what she had become. As small as she was, her weight still unbalanced the man, and he tumbled over. At first, the man remained grinning, slurring something about how she must like it rough. His grin lasted about as long as it took her to sink claws into his shoulders and gut, back claws dangerously close to his exposed groin.

The first glint of fear hit into him, and he struggled away from her. Hunting now, she stalked after his shuffling form, fully feline, dangerous canines exposed. He stumbled towards the stairs, and she followed, tail lashing behind her. He was at the top of the stairs when she sprang, and, with his pants still not all the way up his legs, he tumbled, tangled with her until they reached the bottom. As the inn floor came to meet them, it broke her grip on the man and she rolled away, coming up to her feet, but with the wind knocked out of her. Her tail was twice it's normal size, her fur puffed out and her ears flat.

The man's slurred mumbles and shouts had drawn all sorts of attention. Rhyn looked around, still ready to attack anybody that approached. She rose up to two legs, tail lashing as she drew in breath, her ribs and back sore from tumblign down the stairs. "Anybody else care to find new rents in their hide?" She snarled at those who stared a bit too long, and some of them looked away. Her claws were tinted with red from the drunkard who had dared, and she began her way back up the stairs, still angry, but slightly calmer.

He watched as Rhyn took out the man, but didn't make a move to stop her. It was a method of proving dominance, in a sense. Of proving she was unwilling to take another mate, or any mate for that matter. He stood and followed them a moment, not going beyond the door, watching as they tumbled down the stairs. He knew she was sore, but he also knew she needed it in the same sense he'd needed the pain he'd gained from punching boulders. As she made her way up the stairs, he stood, watching her, not moving for a short time.

His eyes gauged her before he stepped back, allowing her in, but keeping between her and Soneya for the moment. It wasn't that he felt either were in danger of the other or anything like that... just simply wanted to be sure, and to keep them feeling safer. He sat on the bed once more, patient and quiet, and completely at ease, his tail flipping once again.

Soneya heard the noise from the tangled fighters crashing down the stairs and she flinched, wrapping the blanket tighter around herself. “Is she alright?” she called out to Kaevad, who was observing the whole thing from the door. “Can’t you help her?” Before she had even fully asked the question, she already knew the answer without him having to look at her or even reply. Rhyn needed to establish her authority, not only towards the men in this town but towards herself and their odd little group. She needed to make sure that everybody still knew that she could take care of herself and that she could stand her own ground, that she wasn’t just someone’s pet. In a way, Soneya could understand her though she wasn’t quite sure this had been the right way to go about it.

But just like Rhyn and Kaevad had refrained from saying anything when she had acted like a fool, Soneya kept her mouth shut when Rhyn stepped back into the room. There was no need to say anything, Rhyn knew herself that she could have broken her neck with that tumble down the stairs.

Instead Soneya merely lifted the edge of her blanket in the air a little, a silent invitation to Rhyn to snuggle up in case she needed a bit of friendly company. Soneya would understand if she didn’t accept it but she wanted to let Rhyn know that she was there for her in case she needed someone. As little comfort it may be, it was the best the girl could offer.

Rhyn didn't look at Kaevad. She slunk into the room, her fur slowly settling into place. With Soneya's invitation, she padded over and slipped underneath the blanket, curling around behind Soneya and becoming hidden underneath the blanket. Her tail stuck out a little bit, and on the other side, her head rose. The rasp of her tongue could be heard, rasping over her claws. The tip of her tail, not fully underneath the blanket, flicked gently back and forth on the floor.

He watched Rhyn curl up with Soneya and stood with a smile. Silently he padded to a chair and snagged it. Closing the door he placed the chair against it and sat on the chair - preventing any other retards from entering if they thought they could take on a dragon and a cat. It would also give the women room. Something told him he was making at least Rhyn uncomfortable, and he knew women had this secret boy-language closeness magic-thing that enabled them to comfort and soothe in no way a man could. It never failed to baffle and amaze him.

So for now he remained the quiet guardian, eyes closed and arms crossed as he waited for day to come.

When Rhyn took her up on her invitation, Soneya let the woman position herself the way she wanted, before she herself sunk back into the bed and soon after fell asleep with Rhyn’s soft and warm fur curled about her. She barely even registered Kaevad taking up position on a chair against the door before she had completely drifted off into sleep already.

The next morning, Soneya woke up early and felt quite refreshed too. For a moment, she had wondered whether she was going to have a decent night’s sleep after the newest incident and the knowledge that these men didn’t even bother to knock or regard privacy as something to be respected. But the night had been a quiet one, so apparently they had learnt their lesson from the day before.
Or they had secretly been coming up with a plan on how to best ambush them, or rather Kaevad, so they could get at his ‘mates’. The thought sent a shudder down her spine and Soneya quickly straightened up in bed. There was no way she was going to be able to rest any longer now. The sooner they were either out of here or had explained the village situation to the men and showed them, the better.

Padding over to the window, Soneya looked out briefly to assess the village a little. She hadn’t really paid much attention the day before as she had been more intent on finding Rhyn and getting some food. Plus, the sun had been setting, and since they were now a floor up, it gave her a decent vantage point. From what she saw, there really were only men to be seen, which was very odd. There had to be at least a few women around here, right? But Soneya couldn’t spot any, though it was still early in the day as well. They might just be cooking breakfast or taking care of kids and housework or something along those lines.

What she did notice however was that some of the men had instantly stopped when her head had appeared at the window and were now intently staring up at her. Uncomfortable and shivering from the glances they gave her, Soneya quickly stepped away from the window again and tried to put the men from her mind, trying to smile awkwardly at Kaevad, whose attention not a single movement in this room was escaping.

Rhyn slowly managed to drift into sleep. She didn't dream, but she shifted slightly around. When morning came, she woke, but she didn't move. Once Soneya rose, she curled into a ball, hiding her face beneath her spotted tail and setttling in. What would they do with the day? Connect the two villages? Would there be repercussions for the night before, for her having attacked the drunk? She didn't want to think about it. Where was the simplicity she always craved?

After a short time, she raised her head, and rested it upon a hand as she turned to lay on her stomach. "What do we do now? "

Kaevad watched the pair sleep, half dozing himself, only to snap awake when Soneya moved. He watched her look out the window, only to pull back looking uncomfortable. Ahhh... she'd noticed. Kaevad looked to Rhyn as she spoke, pondering how to best answer the question. "Well... I can go unite the two villages, alone, if that makes you more comfortable. Or... you can come with me. I'd normally suggest we do something entertaining, but well... you'd draw a lot of attention." Kaevad's smile was apologetic.

"It hadn't been like this last time I was here. Had some farming issues, a drought, but they were even as far as numbers went." He frowned and peered out the window. "Anyways, the choice is yours to make ladies."

“You’re probably right about the attention,” Soneya muttered, pulling her arms around herself as another shiver went down her spine as she thought about the stares she had just received. “But I’m not so sure it’s a good idea for us to stay on our own either. They’re certainly not all going to go with you and who knows what crazy ideas the others would get once our mate and guardian has left us on our own. They certainly won’t care for consequences if they get what they want before those could kick in. And no matter how well Rhyn could scratch them all up, if there’s more than a handful, it will be tough.” She shot Rhyn an apologetic look and shrugged. She believed in the snowleopard’s strength but if a dozen villagers came at them, even she wouldn’t be able to hold her ground anymore, and doors were breakable.

“Are you sure it’s a good idea to go there with all these creeps on your own?” she asked as she turned back to the dragon shifter, boring her eyes into his. Of course he could handle them, he was a dragon. A bit of fire and the problem would most likely be solved. But there would be crazy ass and horny girls mixed with a bunch of even crazier and hornier guys. If something went wrong... “What could possibly have happened here anyways for there to literally be no woman left? Or at least that’s what it looks like.”

Rhyn nodded at Soneya's glance. She didn't overestimate her own strength. And unlike Kaevad, her own form was small. She might be able to take on up to five or six men, but out here they were pretty decent in size, she couldn't take on more than that. Raising her head and stretching slightly, she spoke. "Best if we stay together. To leave us alone in the village here is too dangerous. Being around you will make men think twice before interfering." Her input spoken, she stood and shook her fur out before stretching again,r eaching up towards the ceiling.

Kaevad nodded, accepting their decisions. "Very well." He eyed Rhyn, his voice apologetic. "You'll have to stay close to me, to avoid any unwanted attention." He murmured, though it was clear he didn't wish to intrude on her any more than he had to. "Now... we'll leave when you're ready, I'll order some breakfast. Anyone troubles you, just call and I'll rip their heads off- errr... vocally. Not physically." He smiled wryly at his joke before heading out.

He ordered them a large bacon, egg and potato breakfast, sitting down at a table off in the corner to avoid attention, waiting. He would likely just bring a group of men over, and they could either tell their friends, or they could bring a group of women back with them. Soneya was right in questioning what happened to this village, but honestly... he had no idea how to answer her. Either way, it needed to be righted, as was the nature of things.

Taking a bit of time to freshen up, Soneya waited for Rhyn to be done as well before the two women made their way down to the inn as well to enjoy their breakfast. For the time being, it seemed as though the men had learned their lesson, and there were fewer of them around at this time of day as well, though the odd stares still happened. As much as possible, Soneya hid from view behind Kaevad’s frame and enjoyed her delicious breakfast.

One man in particular seemed edgy and as though he was about to burst, but he politely waited until they had finished eating before he edged over to their table. His eyes were clearly switching between the women but he was addressing Kaevad as he spoke. “You said something about a village full of women. Is it really true? Could it be that there are female nearby of which we did not know? Because, as you can see, we have a bit of a lack of a female population here. If you could help us out, we would be much obliged.” Soneya frowned as she looked up at the man, surprised by the civility he offered, especially in contrast to how they had been treated the previous night. Seeing his face however, she knew why he was so polite. He had been one of the people drinking with the guy who had approached them in such an ungainly manner while they had still been eating. Apparently he had learned his lesson.
