Diverging Roads/Diverged Roads
Re: Diverging Roads
up to you if you wanna recap, Fay's gone all cold and assasin-y. Mostly I'll just be dragging the group along xD
Now I'm not 110% sure on what kat wanted to do with the whole Melagone thing, but I knew she wanted it to happen, so it did. I'm also pretty sure she wants to drag us into a seedy bar so we can pick up the latest Paragon and join her cause.
If you guys have any better idea of what was to happen, speak up D: I'm not psychic Q_Q

The time has come my friends, to sharpen our blades and wit, and to allow the ice of our fore-fathers to run through our veins. The time has come, my friends, for war.
Re: Diverging Roads
Yeah. Sorry if that was a bad post. I was zipping through old posts and I saw that Kat and I had started to make a new guild-type-thingy for Anti-Puradyne-Maginess, so I thought 'Hey, that's a good idea for a post!'.
And I just got carried away from there.
Yeah, as soon as Mandy posted about Jerial ignoring her, I was like /Facedeskrepeatedly. But I think that it was kind of appropriate. Jerial was losing what remains of his mind.

Worked for me x) sorry about the semi-angsty response as well
I disn't NPC Saruna
wasn't sure if she wanted to post or not, so if she (or you if you're reading this Kat) isn't (aren't) up to it, I don't mind editing.

Re: Diverging Roads
No, no, not at all. I owe you many much gratitudes for being so flexible. I owe all of you gratitudes for your patience and understanding. ><
So then, I suppose, here's a good time to take stock of what everyone's feeling. There's a few options for where this could go:
Melagone's death caused by the real force behind Paragon.
>I'd thought about introducing magical, traditional-esque intelligent pointy-toothed fairies who had previously been denizens of the Astral Plain but have been wandering around since trying to find a way back home. They're not nice. They live by sucking the magical essence out of what few they can find and can change forms with some effort (permanent change over time). They're using the rebellion as a means to wake up what they sense as a very strong magic beneath Marn, and use it to tear open a rift strong enough to take them home.
>Either separately or attached to above, some of the battlemages have wrestled themselves independent enough to plot against Belatucadrus. In that event, Melagone was a loyalist and had to be killed after finding out.
>something else.
Now that they've discovered his corpse:
> they stumble over the killer, bad shit happens.
> allies of Melagone stumble over them, bad shit happens.
> No one discovers them and they deal with internal conflict in the group itself, taking the information back to Marn to use as a bartering tool.
Whaddya guys feel like?

Re: Diverging Roads
I'm liking the idea of evil pixies and the battlemages trying to fly solo personally. That being said, if we run into the killers (ie the pixies) battle would ensue. Honestly while I'd love to kick some tail, Fay'd likely come close to death yet again, unless she just assassinates her way through it -shrugs- or gets Saruna and Breda out of there... dunno XD But something similar would happen if Mela's allies stumble in.... bartering tool might prove to be handy.
Anyways, those are my thoughts.

Re: Diverging Roads
I was thinking a gtf out of there situation, maybe; the fairies/pixies would be damn powerful creatures, and with at least two (three counting tanobi?) unable to really defend themselves their best option would be to flee imo should they come into contact.
Otherwise allies could include, say, members of Navarre's little gardening club. Not necessarily dangerous combatants, but wagging tongues that could get them in trouble. >>

Re: Diverging Roads
The way Jerial is right now, he might just have to murder something, even if it is just a wagging tongue. Also, if it were Navarre's cronies that showed, that would lead an inroad to development of Cerion and Kado. BUT, I'm fine in any of the three cases (except that imho, it might be a little too early to reveal the Big Bad[s]).

Re: Diverging Roads
Soooo pixies, then gtfo? On the other hand, the nothing happening bit would lead to more character development and save us the scrambling of trying to sort out the fastest way away from evil pixies... seeing as the 3 defenseless ones can't run well either. Fay could half-shift if need be but I can't see her carrying 3 people and not being slowed down dramatically - she's not THAT strong.

Re: Diverging Roads
The one useful thing about fey creatures in general and perhaps in this situation is that they are not always kill first ask questions later types. They like tricks, and pranks, and maybe wouldn't reveal themselves so much as play a game with the five individuals. What magic they did have would be strong, limited only by their own skillsets (ill defined atm) and by that of the barrier to the Astral Plane. Illusion, however, is something all fey seem to have in one form or another, and it's definitely possible that we could have some. . .interesting situations happen that way too.
The major differences between the three are what major direction we want the thread to be in: desperate action, political intrigue, or overall plot development. No matter which way we go all three will be present, just in different levels.

Re: Diverging Roads
I feel bad for not really contributing here. Medium-sized life changes ahead, which kind of require most of my attention and mental energy. I promise (again) that I'll behave better. Just wanted to say that I love the pixie idea!
Never sigh for better world,
It`s already composed, played and told.

Voting pixies but let's have some fun with it? So much angst...

Re: Diverging Roads
Aaaaaaaand I'm out of ideas again. Should I further the plot? I never seem to do that in my posts, that's Fay and Kat's job xD
