Unfortunate Accident.

Post by Regus » Fri Jan 04, 2013 3:38 am

Another day of work for Regas, just like every Tuesday he silently entered the Oily Hog Tavern, took “Lenora” from her box, and positioned his Beret in front of him soo the clients would throw their money on it.
He was carefully tuning his violin when Yasiff a childhood friend, interrupts his ritual, passing his arm over Regas shoulder.
-Hey, do you see the barmaid there?
Regas take a good look and respond with a very neutral tone.
-Yes, what about it?
Yassif respond with a very nervous tone, his hands were shaking.
-I want to ask her hand in magiage… but…
Regas just know what he will ask and say.
-Just do what you must and it’ll work… I’ll just play something heroic soo you won’t be soo afraid of facing that demon!
Yassif laughs a bit.
-I don’t drink she never had to throw a mug on me!
He started to walk on her direction, Regas was happy for him and for something different happening suddenly.
“Let me see… Protecting my Devotion by Lethrass should fit very well in this situation…”

It was one of his favorites, the music was composed before the foundation of Marn, by a noble who wanted to express how he felt when he marched for war, not because of his land or lord… but to keep his wife in a badly fortified castle safe.
A beautiful story that makes him inspired in difficult times.
Ready he starts with a strong entrance, and starts to hit the floor on the rhythm, as expected the people in front of him started to do the same and in a few moments half of the Tavern was paying full attention to the music and singing along.
Yasiff who was babbling in an useless effort to make the proposal, felt some kind of fire growing on his chest the music was seeping inside him, making him feel brave and confident.
-What are you trying to say? – the barmaid asked not understanding what made his dear friend soo nervous.
The poor Yasiff shakes his head and say, straightforward.
-I can’t find words to express how I feel soo, let me show you!
He grabs her hands and kiss her lips, everyone around them wanted to see what has keeping their beer out of their table.
-Oooooooh! You mean?! – gasped the young woman.
Regas had his full attention on the song, with his eyes closed it was like if the entire Tavern did never exist… there was only blackness, sound and the strong pulsation of his heart.
It has always been like this when Regas play good music, just like any other serious artist he enters “the zone” when he puts his heart on the work.
Suddently he’s surprised by a very loud sound just on his right ear,it was just like if someone broke a table on his left ear.
Shocked, pale and confused he immediately places his right hand on his forehead and feel blood coming from a wound just above his eye brow.
Everyone was mute and looking at him. – “W-w-what t-the hell just happened?” he looked to his right and there was a deep hole in the stone wall with the shape of an open palm.
Then he looked in front of him, and there was a man with a furious expression his hand open with the same size and shape of the hole in the wall.
-Sir… did you really expected to do magic in public… on a tavern without a licence? I can tell you don’t have one because you don’t look to have money enough to pay for the process of getting one.
Every single customer was paralyzed in fear by the Battlemage who mysteriously wasn’t seen by anyone before that moment, Regas tryies his best to not panic and replies.
-M-magic?! I was playing a so…
The battlemage roars at him and execute some small gestures.
-I KNOW WHEN SOMEONE IS USING MANIPULATIVE MAGIC!!!
Suddently Regas feels constricted and falls into the floor, he couldn’t breathe enough and as his mind got blank by the lack of oxygen, he thinks.
“Nooooooooooo… it’s too sudden… I should…”
