Player Name: Christof
Name: Clarisse Deronn
Age: 23
Race: Human with hints of faye
Height: 5 foot 9 inches
Weight: 145lbs
Appearance: Clarisse has a lithe muscular body covered with various scars and tattoos she has inherited throughout her life as well as a brand on her back right shoulder. The lower half of her face has been tattooed to make it seem like the lower half a skull, though she normally keeps this covered by a cloth or leather mask. Another semi seen facial feature of Clarisse’s is that her canine teeth have been sharpened to points on both her upper and lower jaw. Her skin has a bronze tone from sailing on the open ocean but it shows little signs, aside from her tattoos and scars, of leathering as opposed to most sailors.. Her hair raven black hair reaches down to her lower back and is normally kept in a pony-tail by a gold circlet. Her normal attire consists of a long dark grey surcoat with black trimming and steel buttons, dark grey blouse and black breeches, and leather knee-high boots strapped to her legs via buckles. All of her weapons and equipment is attached to her with an array of leather bandoleers and belts with silver buckles.
Possessions:
Tomahawks- Clarisse has a pair of tomahawks she primarily uses for close combat. Like her arrows, one axe is made of steel and the other has a silver coating so she can effectively combat anything she is up against. Each of the axes is inscribed with her name in her tribes flowing language.
Knifes-- Clarisse carries a kukri shaped knifes which she uses for combat as well as for other purposes such as cooking, skinning, whittling etc.
Armor- Underneath her normal garb Clarisse wears a set of leather armor. The armor is plain and ordinary aside from the signs of wear and tear and is hardly noticeable aside from her gauntlets which cover most of her forearm and part of her hands, leaving her fingers exposed.
Rucksack- Like her armor Clarisse’s rucksack is pretty ordinary showing signs of regular wear and tear. Inside she has her extra clothes, various repair kits for her weapons and armor, several (mostly outdated) maps of various cities, countries, and sea maps, as well various adventuring supplies (food, sleeping gear, etc).
Powers or Strengths:
Stealth- Clarisse is very good at staying hidden, be it hiding in the crowd of a busy city or following someone undetected in the woods. She is also able to use this ability to get the jump on someone/thing and then quickly fade away unnoticed.
Sailing- Growing up in a nomadic island hopping tribe and later spending time as a coastal raider Clarisse is quite adapt to a life on a sailing vessel. Clarisse can easily sail a small one person boat or be adequate crewmember on a much larger ship. Also while at sea, she can easily navigate using the coast or stars to guide her.
Dexterity- Clarisse has excellent hand eye coordination and her skill is easily shown when she is in close combat. When fighting she can easily wield a weapon in both hands or throw her knifes/tomahawks with excellent accuracy.
Weaknesses:
Attraction to shiny things- One of the downsides to having fae blood is her attraction to shiny things. More than once has her cover been blown or someone has spotted her in a crowd because of a shiny bishan lying on the ground. Unless utterly focused on something or her life is on the line Clarisse can be distracted by shiny objects.
Untrustworthy – Clarisse ‘s fae tendency’s as well as her previous careers as a pirate and mercenary have caused her to become a untrustworthy, underhanded, and greedy person. Knowing this, people tend to take her words and with a grain of salt knowing that her loyalties could switch if someone offered her a bit more than they were paying.
Hemophilia- Clarisse has a type of Hemophilia called Von Willebrand Disease where her blood takes longer to clot resulting in excessive or extended bleeding. Clarisse must be extra careful to avoid injury, and when she does she has to make sure to take care quickly bandage her wounds so she doesn’t bleed out.
Merciless- Clarisse had little room for mercy in all the jobs she has had to do in her previous careers, having to get the job done by whatever means necessary. By doing so, she has no qualms against doing things such as burning someone’s house down just to get a simple answer for something instead of using diplomacy. Such as her behavior people tend to avoid her in fear of getting a tomahawk to the face over a small grievance.
History:
Clarisse Dronne’s story starts long before she was even born. In the seas between Eyropa and Sethkantos there was a tribe of nomadic sailing folk. Being nomadic they travelled between the many different islands to hunt, fish, and exchange goods and services with other tribes. On several of these islands were faeries which on occasion would intermingle with the local tribes for various reasons, causing several cross breeds to occur. Even though most of the faeries who cross bread with the humans had a good nature there were of good nature there were a handful of evil ones who did as well.
As time progressed, most of the faeries either left the islands or were killed off by various villagers either out of fear or for the thought of gaining some magical thought or favor. As the generations progressed the fae blood running throughout the various tribes became diluted and the amount of magic users and other ones blessed with magical abilities began to decrease, though occasionally someone born would be able to be a powerful magic user.
When Clarisse was born her village elders knew that she had the potential to be one of the few magic using people, seeing that in her heritage there were a few. Fortunately for them, her magical ability never manifested itself so the elders figured she was nothing to fear and almost completely forgot about her.
When she was eleven years old her tribe was traveling a dangerous stretch between two islands when there small fleet was caught in a flash storm. The boat that Clarisse was on got separated from the main fleet in the storm and eventually was destroyed on a barren remote island. Thinking that the ship was lost in the open ocean and there was no hope for survivors the rest of fleet moved on leaving them to their fate.
After the better part of a year Clarisse’s tribe was migrating again and, by a stroke of luck, passed the island her ship had been stranded on. Noticing the ship the fleet sent a small craft over to check for any survivors even though they did not expect any. What they did find shocked and horrified the rescuers.
Sense most of the cargo of their small vessel was lost, supplies had been low from the start on a bleak near inhabitable island and the odds of the survival of its crew were low at best. Out of the original thirty passengers only twenty had survived the initial wreck caused by the storm. What was worse was out of the original twenty survivors only five remained, surviving only by eating the rest of their crewmates as they passed or as circumstances called for.
Cannibalism was one of the highest crimes in their Nomadic society and its punishment was to be banished from the tribe forever after being marked as a cannibal so anyone who recognized the symbolism would not take you in. When asked who suggested eating their fellow tribes people they were appalled when everyone said it was Clarisse. When brought back to the rest of the fleet a meeting of elders was held to figure out what to do with the survivors, especially Clarisse because of her young age. What was determined was due to circumstances survival overweighed the tribal laws and the survivors were allowed to return to the tribe as long as they did not partake in that activity again. The survivors agreed and all was soon forgotten until about three years later.
What the elders didn’t know about Clarisse was that the fae blood that flowed throughout her was from some of the most Evil faries to ever grace the islands that her people lived on and three years after the survivors were rescued from the island she was caught partaking in canibalisim again.
At first the tribes people were getting scarred because some thought a large beast of prey was stalking the village when several of their villagers went missing in the middle of the night over the course of a few days the first one being Clarisse. Following various hunting trails as well as tracking some blood the searchers were led to a campsite where they found all but one of the missing villagers hacked to pieces and partially consumed. The one body that wasn’t there was Clarisse’s and an immediate manhunt was commenced to hunt her down and bring her to justice. Clarisse was found not far from the camp attempting to bury one of the dead villagers.
When she saw the mob with coming at her she knew that they had discovered what she had done and put up no struggle as they dragged her back to the village for judgment. She knew what she had done and didn’t show any emotion when the tribes elders sentenced her to banishment. Tribe tradition told that the accused was to be marked for their crimes or misdeeds, after she was sentenced she was strapped to a stake and branded with the mark of an outcast. To show what she had done to earn her brand her crime was tattooed onto her so she could show the rest of the world what she had done. As a group of villagers held her down her lower face was tattooed to resemble that of an exposed skull to represent that she wasn’t completely human, rather something that was half dead and struck fear into the living. After her branding and marking had been accomplished she was given a small sailing ship and was told to sail until she could no longer see the island they were currently residing on and then she was free to go as she wished until she died.
Several days after she had been banished Clarisse was ‘recruited’ (more of captured and forced into service) by a pirate crew who plucked her out of the ocean as she laid dying in the afternoon sun. When asked for her name, the pirates couldn’t pronounce her island name so started calling her Clarisse, the closest thing that it sounded like. The name stuck and she adopted the last name of Dronne after the name of the ship she served on.
After turning twenty Clarisse decided it was time for something new and snuck away from her crew when it was docked in port near Trelham. After several days of enjoying her freedom she hooked up with a mercenary band who was looking for some new members to help bolster her numbers. The band was happy to hire Clarisse after hearing about her previous employment and seeing her in action in after a fight broke out in the tavern they were staying in. The mercenary band loved having her around, she made them money and she was worth every ounce of her weight in gold, the only thing they didn’t like was learning about how she got her fighting face ink. Two years after joining up with the mercenary band, Clarisse’s life was threated after the group attempted to kill her in a trap after a very successful mission. Clarisse managed to escape with her life after fighting her way out of the trap managing to kill a few of them before they could get her. Soon after she fled the surviving mercenaries exposed her secret and told people not to hire her in fear of being her next victim. The merc’s plan worked in most cases but also caused a lot of people to hire Clarisse Dronne because they knew that she could get the job done, no matter how crazy the job may be.
After roving the country side for nearly a year word of civil unrest in a town called Marn came to Clarisse’s ears, which in turn brought a smile to her face. “When someone’s angry that usually means someone wants someone dead.” She said to herself as she made her way to Marn in hope of making a few quick bishani.
Clarisse Dronne is currently heading toward Marn, to see if anyone might be in need of her services.

All the satisfaction I need... comes when I step out onstage and see the people. That's awesome. I love that.
