I was kind of counting on you defusing the situation at the cabin, but I can post easily enough. :) The hotel turned out to have internet after all. I still probably won't be able to post Monday though. Maybe late at night, which will still be tuesday for you two. Time zones are fun.

I probably shouldn't have had Kitan run ahead like that, as much as it fits with his character.

EDIT: But yeah, post's up. Now as to the question of who posts next (We either maintain the original order or go Kitan-Morveya-Alex) I leave that choice to you two. :)

Okay, didn't realize you were going to have me do that. Maybe I missed a note somewhere. It just made sense that Kitan would answer Alex's challenge first off, because he is nearing them. (or so it looked to me, at least)

Personally, I'm flexible on post order. I don't need it to be set in stone, as long as I am getting adequate chance to respond to things. And I generally make it a point to leave openings for others, whenever it makes sense, or is just courteous. (this last situation being an example)

But not opposed to going in order either - if that keeps life simple for everyone!

Nah, you didn't miss anything. I just did a terrible job of explaining things as usual. No worries.

Kitan's probably going to start asking Morveya a bundle of questions along the lines of "can you help dad not be an alcoholic" so we'll go with the Kitan-Morveya-Alex for now then, assuming no one has any objections. :)

Sounds fine. So -- Alex up next. I know the player occasionally gets busy with everything he has going on RL. And just relocated, recently. So we'll give him whatever time he needs.

If the next is going to be written in chat -- just give me some heads up as to when we might be working on it.

Yes -- looking forward to (trying to) treat papa's condition. In real life, I was effected strongly by someone who was an alcoholic. While it probably should haul up bad memories, I actually find myself looking forward to it in the context of the story.

Once in a while, I find one of my characters dealing with something that was hard for me in my own life. Sometimes...it's sort of an opportunity to look at the problem through a different set of eyes. Maybe be a bit more objective about it.

Because there aren't many consequences in fiction! It all always comes out so well in the end....

Believe you're up next, Mr. Valyra. I may be around this evening to do some chat posting. Perhaps we can try it out as a trio, if Alex is as well.

If not, please feel free just to solo post - and I'll get my next in afterward.

Guards. Herm. Give'em some plate-mail, and a few weapons, and they think they own the countryside. Never mind they're trying to secure our safety from flesh devouring fiends. It is still so presumptuous!

j/k - great post from the guard!

Sorry I wasn't able to show. I had some real life drama to rectify... I think my post was alright though.

Eh, okay, I don't like it. I just couldn't get the emotions in that I wanted to... Anyways, you and Alex might want to do a joint post for the next scene, I could see them having a nice full conversation while the family drama is going on.

But of course, that's all your call. :)

Huh. I just now noticed how well this all fits with the title of the storyline. You'd think I would have noticed that earlier. Family Ties... I wonder if we can drag Alex's family in somehow, just to complete the theme we've got going. XD

We certainly can, I've a thing or two in mind for Alexandros' adoptive family!

And no worries Kitan. I'll wait on Morveya to post, or post in conjunction with her, so we can have a chat while your family spat runs its course.

I was thinking of that too, just recently, Kitan! That we are sort of including various family situations and complication here. Which is great. Nice to make the title a bit more embracive, than my situation alone.

So, if Alexandros wants to fit any such in, that will be welcome.

I think I'll note it in the thread description, as well. For any future participants. Family complications are a plus. Or this is a good story in which to explore them.

Though not at all required.

EDIT: I'll get a solo response post in. After, perhaps we can chat post, depending what happens next.

Okay, so my most recent post didn't involve Kitan directly, but you can still use/react to him in your post by catching him tossing bottles out the front door. Originally the scenes were independant, but I just couldn't make them flow together well. I integrated them instead, having Drifel and Alex hear Kitan from the second room.

I think I've gotten paranoid about my ability to write emotional scenes now. :?

Anyways, my rambling point is I hope it isn't too unwieldy to follow, Morveya. If it is, you can just keep chatting with the Lurus, however, if you confront Kitan about his ale tossing antics I'd very much appreciate it. It's an easy lead in to the "can you help dad" scene. Alternatively, she could confront Drifel directly, which would also be barrels of fun and maybe quicker. If she acts to help Drifel without Kitan asking her, Kitan would also probably feel a bigger debt to her and it would be easier to justify his sticking around.

Of course, if you think of something good then needless to say don't hesitate on my account. :)

Check on all that. Can and will accommodate. Should have a post in today -- tomorrow, if not.

As for emotional posts -- just try to get behind the character's eyes, and let it flow. I think you're doing fine.

Hope all had a good TG holiday!

Let me know if you two want to chat-post next ... or keep going singly. I'm good with either. Though the next part might be better as a chat - since it will be a dialog amongst all three.

But, that depends on us all being on the same time. If not workable, let's just keep it going!

Well, I'm up for anything, provided it is at or later than 3:00 in -8 Pacific Time. Just tell me a day and I can show up.

I should be around this evening (earlier) and the following two days. Not sure where Alex is at after the holidays, but would guess he'll chime in soon enough.

Hey there! Sorry for my prolonged absence. I just moved into a permanent residence (and am done living in hotels hopefully) and got my internet up and running about... 20 minutes ago. :D

If you guys want to do a chat deal tomorrow I could do that. Today's probably not good, I have to catch up on calling references tonight for work. I'll also be around after 5PM or so mountain time this weekend... If those days work better!

No problem Alex; hope it went as smoothly as possible, and you are enjoying the new digs!

Tomorrow could work for me...but only up until 5/5.30pm CST or so. Which I don't think leaves Kitan a great deal of time.

My weekend is in flux, at the moment. I'll have a more clear picture tomorrow. Er, hopefully...or at least by saturday afternoon, if not!

EDIT: Or if you just want to post, Kitan, please go ahead. Don't want to hold things up trying to coordinate a meeting with vague schedules.
