Re: In for a Bishan
ideas for the group owning the statues from a chat discussion:
A few men from Eyropan criminal activities (group?) are pushing illegal magical goods. They've contracted with a local smuggling group to keep the items safe and to finish the sale before leaving. There is a competitor crowd (enemies from another group? a few men with grudges?) currently in marn who are looking to sabotage the operation. The sellers were aware of it, and think our characters are from the competitors.
The statues themselves can be relics, which would explain their power (from earlier in the thread):

The statues I think. . .I don't know what kind of magic they have. I was thinking maybe they effect everyone a little differently, sort of reactive towards each person's personality, almost an inactive attempt to twist the person to their own gain. Since they are anchored in astral magic (or uh, are they? I don't remember) that might be to make them naturally want more astral magic slipping through the cracks. So maybe they attempt to warp their holders into becoming conduits for the astral plane. It'd explain why magic users would find the things really damn useful -- when in control the statues themselves would be conduits to greater magical power.
So, they're extremely illegal, very potent, and tend to possess the unwary. How's it sound?

I apologies for my tardyness guys. Work has been busy!
Re: In for a Bishan
Sent Tais a pm to check up. I think our thread got lost in the holiday shuffle.

Re: In for a Bishan
Tais is gone, and I figured his addition to the group might prompt an attack. Plus I just needed something to jump start the thread again, considering this is the second time someone leaving has left us in a bad spot. I figure Tais will be hard to kill outright, being a shifter and freaking huge.
There's gotta be at least 6 or 7 thugs attacking them, with two or more on Tais. Iarei is pretty much useless in a fight, so. . .
