First Entry: A dream of Reality, The history of Mother and Father.
Alone……The Beginning of Life.
A question…..
When does innocence wash away?
Another question…..
What happens when the mind snaps?
Final question…..
When innocence is lost…..can it ever come back?
The clouds were dark as a storm slowly came closer and closer. The wind, once soft and beautiful, howled a haunting moan. Its mouth was bristled with ice as it caused the skin to shiver with its touch. Selena however did not shiver. Her skin did shake but it was not due to the coldness. No one could truly tell what she felt at the moment. Was it anger? Her stance signified anger. Her legs bent at the knees spread evenly apart in a battle stance. Was it fear? Her face was pale as a ghost as if all substance drained from her body. Was it nervousness? Her skin shook as if she was waiting for some kind of punishment that would never truly come. Was it sadness? Those beautiful green eyes betrayed every ounce of steel she could display. Those beautiful eyes glazed with tears.
Was this a dream? Sometimes Selena could not tell anymore, but she knew deep in her heart this was reality. The sight of her was frightful. Blood dripped down her arms and legs and her cloths were torn and battered, leaves and sticks pasted all over them. Her bow laid a few yards away from her feet. Her eyes stared at it as if she wished it would just get up and walk over to her.
Drip….
Drip….
Drip….
Her eyes flickered to her dagger in her hands. That sound….It came from her weapon. Blood dripped from the tip of her weapon. Was it hers? No, no. It wasn’t hers…it was theirs. Her eyes moved and landed upon the three men lying upon the ground in front of her. One had an arrow stuck right between his eyes. That man tried to rape her mother. The second had a thick tree branch protruding from his thoracic cavity. That man beat up her father. The third laid face down in the forest, his throat slit from ear to ear. That man murdered her family. She had killed three men out of feelings she had never felt before. Anger, Fear, sadness…..all of these things caused a reaction from her that she could not ignore. Her hands were full of their blood. Was this the correct reaction? The cause was great indeed, but was the reaction worth her losing her innocence? She had to decide at that moment what type of woman would she be. Would she be a woman who hid from the shadow and shunned by the light? Or would she be a woman who stood against what was wrong whether it be the light or shadow? Would she flee or would she fight? It was her resolve to find, one of the most important moments of her life. She had made her decision. All emotion fled from her body in rapid waves as a aura of stoicism covered her body. Her legs unbent, her eyes dried, color drew back into her face. She took the dagger and wiped it off on a piece of her tattered pants and sheathed it back on her belt. She would fight…She would control her emotions and not allow them to get the best of her….and she would also do what she believed was the right things. Her turned around and walked away. Will she ever wake up from this reality?
Everything must have a cause and effect. A reaction to an action…..She had killed because of a reaction to a previous wrong doing. However the adrenaline of the fight was gone, leaving her weak and tired. She could feel her body floating towards the ground…..yes this was another reaction….darkness took her….and she dreamed.
It was such a beautiful morning. The grass held a soft glaze over it due to the morning do and glistened as the sun shined down on the field. Selena stood deep in the forest about a mile from her home. Sweat glistened upon her forehead as determination took over her facial features. She was manipulating her mana, and forming weaves in front of her face. She felt each of the proper connections being made to conjure her spell. Typically she could have it done with in a half a second, but that doesn’t mean it would be done correctly. Once she gets stronger, this training would truly be the difference between her summoning a gust to hold someone back or a tornado to reap destruction. The last weave was place and Selena sent forth a gust outwards. It ripped through the forest tossing branches and leaves out of its way, but dispersed once it hit a tree. Selena smiled as she noticed she was breathing very hard. She wasn’t at her limit but she did feel awkward like something was wrong. She shrugged off the feeling and picked up her bow and started to head back to the farm. She enjoyed the peace and quiet here in the forest, but she couldn’t leave her mother with doing all the choirs.
Something was wrong….

Re: Records: Book of Dreams
Selena’s Elven mother was a woman of notable size, as most elves were. She was strikingly beautiful where as Selena’s Elven father was very plain even for an elf. The mother however loved her husband regardless. In her hands she held a bag that held a couple sets of cloths and her coin purse. She had thought it would be nice to buy her daughter a few extra cloths and having the coin purse in the bag was just easier for her to carry. The market trip had been successful. She managed to sell all of the food she had brought there which was a mixture of vegetables and fruit. Food was always in quantity on the farm. Their harvest had been very good for the last couple of seasons and it truly was wonderful. Selena’s mother stopped before the fence of their house. The fence was open. It seems she would have to talk to Selena again about closing that in which she opens. Shaking her head she stepped through the fence and closed it behind her. She made her way over to the front door and was about to set her bag down until the door creaked open. She sighed and shook her head. Selena’s mother would have to definitely talk to Selena about this. Despite their isolation it was not always safe to leave so many things unlocked. The house was dark but that wasn’t very strange for it was a rather large house. She made her way to the kitchen feeling a bit uneasy. It was strange for her to feel uneasy in her own house. Something was wrong…..
Creak….
Selena’s Mother drew her eyes up in an instant and widened as she saw a black mask staring at her from the hall. Fear overwhelmed her as the man rushed at her, however she was no notice at life. Ignoring the fear, and a spell later… a burst of wind hit the man straight in the chest and carried him out of the kitchen to land against the wall in the dining room. She moved to the stair case and climbed it with ease only to run into another man. This one held a curved knife in his hand and growled at her mockingly. It was returned with a hard thud as the bag the mother held hit the robber square in the face causing his eyes to water. She then pushed him backwards and ran into her room. The window was open and she dashed for it. Just as she got the window something hit her hard in the face. It felt like a hand but she wasn’t quite sure. The slap completely took her off guard as her bag flew out the window into the side lawn. The Mother struggled to stand up as she tried to focus. Her head was pounding and ringing. As her hearing cleared up all she heard was the door close….
Selena moved quickly through the forest, her foot steps barely making a sound. She had learned that from her light footed father.
Snap…..
Well Selena wasn’t always the best at it. She grinned as her foot crushed a crunchy leaf. She rounded a river bend and leaped forward striding into her parent’s meadow. She resisted the urge to scream and laugh to let her parents know she had arrived. Today, she wanted to see if she could sneak up on her mother. She grinned deviously and moved in a quickened crouch. She slipped over the fence and tippy toed all the way to the back door. She peaked through the window closest to the door and saw nothing. Her mother must have been in the room upstairs. Grinning again, she moved around the side of the house, until she found vines. There was rather thick vines that always grew on the south part of the house. It wasn’t strong enough to hold the weight of a full man, but Selena was no man. She bounded up the vines and used her upper body strength to move her on top of the roof. She slowly began to crept towards the window of her parents room. Placing her back directly against the wall she leaned over and took a small look into the room. She froze…She saw her father face down on the ground, blood pooling around his body. “Father….” Selena thought to herself. She then realized her mother was on the bed, struggling and trying to scream but something blocked her voice. A man was on top of her, raking at her clothing. Selena began to reach for the window before her mother’s eyes locked dead on Selena. Her mother knew she was there…..how…Those eyes told Selena everything she needed to know. Run away…hide. But Selena was a stubborn child and she couldn’t leave her mother. She reached for the window seal and opened the window, and moved inside. Her heart began to race as she leaped upon the bandits back, raking at him with her nails. Her presence seemed to scare the male as he fully didn’t understand what was happening. At the same time, her mother took her knee and moved it upwards, forcing it deep in the center of the man’s legs. The bandit made a croaked sound before he fell unconscious on the floor.
“Mother. Are you ok…What is going ----” Selena’s mother held a hand over Selena’s mouth as she looked at the door. “Be quiet my child.” Suddenly footsteps became to race up the stairs and Selena’s heart began to race again. “Selena, Forgive me. You have power you must unlock….and to do that, you must live. Forgive me.” Selena shook her head not quite understanding what was meant, until black took over her mind. Something had struck her from behind…”Mo…th…er…” Her body fell limp upon the ground, as the wind wrapped itself around her body, picking her up from the ground and taking her outside of the house, to lay upon the highest portion of the roof. Selena’s mother used the last of her strength moving her daughter and because of that she collapsed right next to her husband. She felt death linger upon her body, and knew it would come for her as steel met flesh. She felt it, but it didn’t hurt. She had did what had been asked of her. Her daughter would live……….

Re: Records: Book of Dreams
Selena felt drained as her eyes shot open. She was dazed and unsure of what was going on. She looked around, and despite seeing that she laid upon the roof of her house, she just couldn’t register where she was. She shook her head, and slowly rested her hand upon her face. Her body shivered and then her head jerked up. Soon everything became to get clearer, and she immediately slid from the roof onto her parents balcony. Her mother laid upon the floor by the bed, throat slashed. She just stood there and stared at her mother’s lifeless body. Her eyes shifted from father to mother, mother to father, and soon everything went red. She felt angry, and soon rage overtook her presence. Her body shivered horribly, as if something foreign had entered her blood stream and her body was trying to fight it off. She walked into the room and picked up her bow and arrows as well as her assortment of knives and vanished from the house. Her lithe body raced into the wood line. At first she had no idea where she was going, except from following the footsteps that were placed in the garden. She knew her parents would never have stepped into the farm bed, and neither would she. It was only logical that they would do it out of ignorance. Her father being a hunter, had taught her not only how to read the signs of animals, but how to hunt as well. Where as she was nothing compared to his skills, she could hunt down three sloppy men. Especially if they had taken everything she had loved from her. Her vision still held traces of red in them, as anger over took her emotions. She could feel her mana swelling up inside aching to be unleashed, but her anger easily subsided that urge. There would be a chance for her to get her revenge. She would have it, no matter what.
The foot prints she found were fresh, as she bent down and pressed her fingers into the ground. They were close, not even a mile away from her. Her eyes scanned the forest as she saw the path they took. They had been cutting branches out of the way, clearly because they had looted her parents house. Her teach gritted as she pressed forward. Her steps were soft but the strength of her legs worked endlessly, as she covered a large amount of ground, dodging trees and branches that hindered the path she took. Normally a person would have been tired, but she grew up in these woods. They were her playground, and in essence, they were her friends. She had always felt safe with in the forest. Sometimes she ever thought she could hear their thoughts, as if she could read their feelings. Her mother had told her it was not impossible for it to happen. There had been stories of many druids who could hear the voices of the forest and even magic users who hold close ties to that of nature. She knew it had to be true, for when she summoned the wind, she had to fully understand what it was and how it worked in order for her to successful complete her weave. In essence there was time that the wind would speak out to her. She was not crazy….
Selena stopped behind a tree as she heard a snap of a branch. She was close. She was very close. She saw a small fire with three men sitting around it. One seemed to be in pain, and she realized it was the same man her mother had decked in the genital area. The man was groaning and complaining but the other two men were only laughing at him. Selena’s face darkened as she drew her black hood over her face. The sun had just about gone down, and the moon was just about to rise. A slight redness took over the sky, which Selena thought was proper. She would die, or they would die. There was no gray to this situation. She withdraw her bow and notched her arrow using the tree to hid her presence. She controlled her breathing and peeked around the corner. There were three targets. The one in pain, and two that were fresh. The one she was going to kill first was easy. His sword laid on the ground because he was eating. The only one who seemed as if they were alert had to be the leader. He only had one weapon which was a sword. She would have to deal with him quickly….she knew he was probably the best trained. He had to die first…She felt a wave of nervousness wash over her form as she silently drew back the string of her bow. She held her breath…..ding….
That was the only sound Selena had heard through out the whole forest. Her arrow flew at an incredible speed, breaking several branches it came in contact with. Selena’s eyes widened however as the leader heard the same sound as Selena and reacted as a warrior would have. He brought his sword out in front of his body and was able to deflect the arrow almost as easily as it was for Selena to shot it. That second of hesitation faded away as two more arrows followed. One struck a bandit directly in his throat ending his life quickly. Selena couldn’t tell which one it was yet, but she would check after the other two were dead. The second arrow struck the side of a tree and bounced into the darkness. By this time the leader had faded into the darkness while the other bandit was advancing forward. Selena however was already on the move as she strung arrow after arrow letting them loose in the darkness. Two more arrows struck a tree and faded into darkness but the third held true. She heard the scream of the second bandit and his body dropped. Selena gave a vicious smile as she advanced on his position. CRACK
In that moment Selena did not quite understand if it was her own warrior instinct or sheer luck, but her form dropped to the ground and a split second after that a sword struck right where her head had been. As she hit the ground, her left hand hit the ground and she managed to lift her body up and flip forward, using her left hand to secure her bow. She landed on the tip of her toes and continued to tumble using that momentum to get some distance away from the main bandit. As she spun she held an arrow and already had it notched to the bow and released it. The arrow was deflected again by this bandit as he advanced forward. His swings were wide but very precise. Selena ducked and began her dance with this man. He was fast, and Selena could barely keep up. She noticed that the blade was missing her each time but a mere milliseconds. That meant Selena’s reactions were faster than this murderer but the downfall was that if she messed up she would be severely injured. His swings were aimed at the inside of her arms and the inside of her thighs. Her brachial and femur arteries. If she allowed him to connect she would be in a world of trouble. She continued to dodge and block with her bow. The sword dug into the wood of her bow but did not break it. Each strike however made it a bit weaker. The leader advanced forward in a spinning fury which caught Selena off guard causing her to fall backwards. She used that momentum and rolled backwards. As she rolled she gripped her last arrow from her quiver tried to have it notched but something held her body in place. She gasped as the second bandit had managed to sneak up behind her and put her in a reverse head lock. She stayed calm and reversed her grip on the arrow and jammed it into his face, piercing his right eye. The bandit’s grip loosened slightly and Selena jerked her free elbow backwards into his gut. She heard the air leave his lungs and she spun. A dagger appeared in her hands as she slipped it from its shealth near her wrist. With one fluent motion Selena slit the bandit’s throat open when she spun and kicked it square in the chest.
That however did not stop the leader from taking advantage from the distraction. He swung his weapon at Selena’s back and cut the outside of Selena’s leather armor, causing a slit on her back. It was a mere flesh wound but the cold steel put Selena in a slight shock. She spun again, this time using her bow to block the second blow, and then using her dagger to deflect the second. Selena moved backwards as she began to parry and deflect the fury of the leader. His eyes were blood shot and full of rage. Selena tossed her bow at the bandit which he easily knocked it aside. He came at her again, this time she held two daggers on in each hand. Selena was sorely at a disadvantage. She knew that if she did not do something soon, she would die. Selena gasped as another slit appeared on her lower abdomen. She felt the steel this time and then felt a rugged boot deep in her stomach. Selena’s body hit the ground but this time she didn’t have the strength to tumble. “After all that, you still cannot carry out your revenge. Silly girl…At least now you will be able to join your mother and father.” The murderer raised his sword and drew it downwards. The man’s eyes widened as his sword stopped in mid air. A gust of wind rose from the ground and met his force and caused it to stop completely. Selena’s eyes flashed with anger. All she could see was her mother’s body on the ground. She remembered the sadness on her mother’s face. The sadness on her father’s face. ……
She began to summon the wind and turned it into sharp strings of death. The first slice struck the man in the face, creating a thin line of blood to run from his left cheek. The other struck his right arm, cutting through his armor and creating another thin line of blood on his arm. The bandit moved backwards quickly and began to move according to how the wind shifted. This time, Selena would be the one on the attack. Selena rushed forward, her soft steps gliding across the ground. She growled as she got close up to the bandit and began strike and thrust at him with her daggers. The bandit knew that she was with in his range and began to defend on his own, but there was not much he could do, for Selena had consistently been sending out waves of her magic induced wind. As her rage began to peak the power of her spell began to grow stronger. It went from creating thin cuts in the trees to almost cutting fully through the base of the forest trees. The bandit had noticed this as well and doubled his efforts. He than began his offensive maneuvers. He leaped into the air and sliced towards Selena’s face. Selena drew backwards out of the reach of the sword and growled as the bandit appeared with in her range in a split second. Selena drew up both her daggers and blocked a downward strike but making an x with her weapons. She then began to strike and slash at him. He feinted and returned her kindness with a high round house kick. Selena ducked and spun thrusting out her right leg and caught the bandit off guard. He hit the ground hard, but bounded forward. Selena turned and ran. She could feel his breath on her neck as she tried to get distance away from him. She then stopped putting an end to every momentum she had. She felt her bones resist that decision but she forced herself still. The bandit swung his sword but as he did Selena rolled to the far left. The bandit’s eyes tried to follow and he swung low and wide only to strike a tree. Confusion took over his face as Selena was no where to be found. Selena landed on the ground behind the leader and inched both her daggers deep with in his right and left cardiac severing them. She could tell the bandit was still confused as he began to bleed to death. “You underestimated your opponent and now death will take you…” Selena knew he would swing low but instead of trying to block Selena used her full speed and ran up the side of the tree as far as she could go, and leaped backwards into a flip. She moved fast hoping it would confused the man long enough for her to finish him. It was a risk, but well worth it. Selena smiled……
