Player Name: Becky

Name: Philo Keegwin

Age: 19

Race: Human

Height: 5'9

Weight: 163 lbs

Physical Description:
Philo's a thin, sandy-haired young man. He looks like he'd clean up well but tends to seem to be on the scruffy side when left to his own devices and when he doesn't have good reason to doll himself up (for an acting performance perhaps?) Unless he's deliberately hiding it, his voice and demeanor still betrays his small town upbringing.

Posessions:
Philo has a big duffel bag filled up with his worldly possessions, clothes, toiletries and such. He also has an old tin locket containing a lock of his mum's hair that he's had for as long as he can remember. He isn't a combatant but keeps a utility knife sheathed in his duffel.

Powers or Strengths:
Philo is a passable actor with an excellent singing voice. He has a knack for being able to pluck out elementary melodies on almost any instrument. He's traveled around quite a bit through his various occupations. He's got the potential to be quite devious and manipulative since he is not nearly as dim-witted as his father was. In fact he is quite good at pretending to be an idiot so as to fool others to expect less from him. He is good at slight-of-hand mostly for cheap parlor tricks and has the potential to learn magic, but due to irrational fear he has never developed it

Weaknesses:
In his hometown of Plugh (Ploog) Philo's known to be the son of a dull-witted man and likely to be considered an idiot on sight. He's ambitious and envious of people who live with better things. But he's also a spendthrift such that when he does get money he tends to lose it either by spending on pointless fleeting luxuries or gambling. His difficulty saving money may improve as he matures. He is easily swayed by the promise of riches.

History:
Philo was born to a man who could have earned a Darwin Award had he not bred before his unfortunate demise. Philo's parents had wed at a young age. The details of the happy occasion were lost to time but what is generally known is that Philo's mum was pregnant and her father had insisted on appropriate nuptials to preserve their family honor. Some years after Philo was born Philo's mum was fed up with being married to the village idiot and left Philo and his dad for a more exciting life. It's unknown what became of her. She likely changed her name and took up a life somewhere else. Philo always imagined that she took up with a famous actor and lives in grand luxury somewhere.

Philo was eight when his father died. Alfred Keegwin pulled a tree down on top of himself while putting on airs to impress a widow he was romantically interested in. Philo was on his own after that. He was taken in by a kind woman who had far more children than any woman should. One day the circus came to town and Philo ran away from home to be a part of it. The carnies took him in and gave him a job. He became the lobsterman's errand boy. It was during his life with the circus that Philo began to hone his acting and musical talents.

Life with the carnival was hard and cruel though, so after several years he went on to join an acting troupe that traveled through several different towns much like the carnies did. At first he was thrilled at the prospect of working as an actor. One of his life's dreams was to become a famous actor, but in time he learned that the head of the troupe did not like him very much and he never seemed to land a role with good lines. Usually Philo was the one hauling props on and off the stage, but he never abandoned his dream. At long last and at the age of 19 Philo quit the troupe with the intention of going out on his own again. He figured there were more opportunities to be an actor and maybe there were other ways he could be an entertainer but in the meantime he wanted to consider all his options.

Most recently he found himself in the city of Marn looking for work. Ideally he'd like to work in the theater, but being realistic, he'll settle for anything respectable that will keep food in his belly.
