It's from a Murder by Death song
Through the gates of hell, as we make our way to heaven, through enemy lines, Primo Victoria!

Necrophilia is bad, mkay.

Poem.
We have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

Fay's is just something I came up with when I thought up her char. Originally Fayane was a healing kitsune - not at all assassin-y. Then up came Thar and I wanted a change, so up came slightly angsty killing Fay who dreams of a possible love while trying to dodge her painful past. :)
The time has come my friends, to sharpen our blades and wit, and to allow the ice of our fore-fathers to run through our veins. The time has come, my friends, for war.

I'm correcting Shakespeare.

From that song and band, as attributed.

Basically, it amounts to "If you've not ever daydreamed in order to go beyond the physical world, it's totally your loss." ;)
If you've never stared off in the distance, then your life is a shame.

The movie "Se7en".

I think the meaning is fairly obvious and speaks to Alexandros' life philosophy.

Essentially: the world is not ideal. If life were a battle between "good" and "evil", then good is losing ground. But... That's not an excuse to give up, on the contrary it's a call to action. Not because it's easy. Because it's right.
"Ernest Hemingway once wrote, 'The world is a fine place and worth fighting for.' I agree with the second part."
— William Somerset, Se7en
