Greetings
Howdy, all.
Rather than go through the uuals of introducing myself as my character, my name's Tom, and I'm excited to be PbPing Again. I've been doing it off and on since... Jesus, 7th grade. So I guess 9 years. I'm a senior in college, a history major with a philosophy and religion minor. I previously posted as Raeth Darkstar on Earth:2025 and it's spin-off Earth:The New Age, and as Morgan Ravensclaw in Vagrant Space. I've been a moderator and an admin, and I DM both a Star Wars and D&D game outside of the internet.
That being said, it's been two years since I've seriously RPed. And I'm really happy to be getting back in to the swing of things.
Looking forward to RPing here!

Welcome aboard. You'll have to forgive this group, it can be pretty mute OOC sometimes, but I assure you we're happy to see fresh blood.
History, philosophy and religion eh. I'm a semiotics minor, which is just philosophy with a fancy name. I share an interest in that and religion, although history is one of my worst subjects. Anything not connected to philosophy or science I haven't got a clue about. Jess loves history though, right Jess? Latin american history specifically, or something like that.
I don't get it, they don't speak latin.

hello
Yep, that's about right.
I don't know what was wrong with Latin though, everything sounded so cool in Latin.
Maybe that's why it had to die out as a language, everything sounded so cool and people couldn't just handle it but they wanted to make sure that when someone years from now used latin they'd say, "Wow, that sounds super intelligent."
Anyway, it's good to see you back on the saddle.

I like this place already.
And yeah... After my grades freshman year and a major change, history ate up my life. So... yeah. I've effectively finished my major, and changed to an easier school (Not by choice--I was at Tulane in New Orleans, and a combination of a hurricane and the President of the university trying to rob me did that in), well, I have more free time. I probably won't start writing for a couple of days. I'm on my last day of vacation in France, and then my girlfriend is going to be demanding time from me to make up for the fact that I've been gone, but hopefully by Tuesday or Wednesday I'll be ready to post.
And Latin is cool enough. Especially since it spawned the French language.
Oh, yeah. I'm a dual citizen, which is why I will tend to make pro French commentary. Fell free to ignore it. If you fight me about it, I'll just surrender.

Yeah... My friends who just graduated are still ok, but I was being asked to pay 15k for the semester we weren't there in order for my credits to tansfer. Which would hve been fine, if we'd been told in advance, but a month and a half in (when it was far too late to switch schools) they told us that no matter where we were going, we had to pay Tulane tuition> I was paying $78 a semester. There was no way I was getting extorted like that.
So, yeah. Hurricane schools are still screwed, and right now I'm just praying that this year's hurricane season is kind.

I just got a dual citizenship for romania, so if/when they're in the EU i'll be able to travel freely. That'll be nice.
As a canadian I should probably speak more french, but there's nothing like an education system to ruin a language.
Have you tried going to http://www.google.com, typing in "french military victories" and then hitting the I'm feeling lucky button?

Ugh, don't EVEN get me started. At least Zidane got a good shot in though (hyuck hyuck).
You know, to be fair, France wasn't the only European country that had a few good centuries goin'. But I'm more familiar with the Latin American side of their histories than the European.
Someday I'll go to France to visit. Any recommendations for a tourist who doesn't just wanna see the tourist spots?
