Among the Graves
Re: Among the Graves
"I was struck with something, and I bled." Gustel replied evasively. He was feeling more confident, and it showed in the returning color to his skin.

Re: Among the Graves
Hanser nodded to himself. Not a threat to Marn? Sounded pretty threatening to him.
"Thank you, Gustel," he said, handing the man a bag of money, "you've been very helpful." He waited for Gustel to leave before slowly standing, locking up the shop, and heading for the guard tower.
He had important information to report.

Gustel shivered as he exited Hanser's shop, and stared out at the city. He hadn't felt a single touch of any illicit magic, and despite a pestering shade of doubt his lips stretched into a smile. He was free. He was free. He straightened his spine and walked briskly down the street, confidence armoring him. He had a sister to collect, and a better life to live, without Marn's shadow dictating his every move. He whistled cheerfully, already planning his escape.
Nothing could hold him back.
Nothing could hold him back.
