Bock

Post by Rorgue » Mon Jul 26, 2010 9:09 am

Name: Bock
Age: 9
Race: Troll
Height: Approx. 6 ft.

Physical Description

Bock looks like any young female troll. She roams about naked and dirty, not really enjoying the idea of a bath and never having worn clothing. Her skin, naturally light, is somewhat darkened by the sun, and from her head grows a dark, tangled mess of hair. She has wide blue eyes, the only thing about her that isn’t extremely unattractive (by human standards, at least).

Strengths

The same as any troll, Bock is strong and difficult to harm, and although not quite as hard to kill as other trolls, it would still be near impossible. Her skin and bones are much stronger than the average human, elf, gnome, etc. and she can regenerate limbs, a trait especially strong in one so young.

As with any troll, the only way to kill her would be with fire or by damaging her brain. Her skull is a little softer than adult trolls, but still stronger than those of any other race.

Weaknesses

Bock, being a troll, is not very bright. And being only a child, naive and inexperienced as children are, she is even less intelligent than an adult troll would be, although she is quite good at mimicking and memorizing sounds. She is easily distracted and terrified of thunderstorms and fire.

Those she has encountered in her life, her mother and occasionally other trolls, were not the most talkative of people, so she has very limited language skills, only knowing basic nouns, such as "food" and "troll".

History

Bock is still a child, and hasn’t had time to experience much in life. She spent the first few years being raised by her mother, but was recently left to fend for herself near Thar Shaddin. Her mother left her while she was sleeping, and now Bock has wandered into the forest near Marn, searching for fellow trolls and eating whatever small animals are unfortunate enough to cross her path while she’s hungry. She doesn't so much miss her mother as she's simply unsure of what to do with herself.

At first, they lived by the ocean, far north and slightly east of where Thar Shaddin is located. There are caves in the area in which the few trolls in the area have decided to reside. Eventually, tired of the cold weather there, Bock's mother took herself and her daughter south, towards the warmer parts of the country. It was a slow, gradual journey, and took a couple of years for them to reach Thar Shaddin.

Bock has always been rather quiet for a troll, a little calmer and more patient than most, something she quite obviously didn't get from her mother. However, she managed to survive, following along behind her mother as they moved south. Unfortunately, it seems her mother decided it was too much of a burden to continue caring for her child, leaving Bock alone near the forest.

After all, trolls are independent, solitary creatures. Even one as young as Bock should be able to care for herself... although she's never encountered anything like Marn before. Even a town like Shim would seem strange to her having only ever seen very small villages and camps which her mother always avoided, although Bock is still unsure exactly why.
