I ran Ko through for shits and giggles awhile back (part of me and Meesha's race to see who could get the higher score!). Seeing as how I'd totally sex Ko up, I think he got over 50-ish.

Clearly this test is designed to determine how much you desire to have sex with your own character. Clearly.

That would explain Jester's score of 17, unless that means I actually want to have sex with her, which I kind of really don't. On the other hand, we all know Ko just breaks all the tests he takes on account of his reality-bending sexiness that defies all limits of conventional thought and clothing. So maybe it doesn't count for other, ordinary people. Hopefully.

There is a little disclaimer up at the top that says that these are symptoms of Mary/Gary Sues. A character can probably have two-thirds of what's listed there and still seem perfectly fine because the person writing them can pull it off. The test is mostly a warning system. If you score really high and people have criticized your character then you should go back and take a look at him. If your name is Ko, then you should just keeping doing what(/whom) you're doing. But looking back at it I can see how it doesn't take a lot of what good RPing is about into account.

Yeah but the fact that you like a character and would want to meet him/her doesn't have anything to do with them being a mary sue.

Nor does being a werewolf, tbh.

I'll admit, there's one character of mine that I am completely in love with. I created him when I was 14, and he's been in everything I've ever written. When you spend ten years developing this persona, falling asleep every night dreaming up their adventures, how do you *not* consider them close friends and/or lovers?

With regard to my planet, yes. Not literally every single teen-angst poem or anything, but in all of my fantasy works, Austeth is hanging around somewhere.

Actually I did manage to make him appear in a Star Trek PBP once. He did have to go from Elf to Romulan for a minute, but he was there!

Brakk scored a 17 ... and I certainly wouldn't want to have *anything* to do with him sexually. In fact, he probably smells really bad (especially his breath - whew!).

Not only that, but he hangs out with Deilakrion - he must be some kind of wierdo!

Chrishton used to be in everything I'd ever written as well. He was also my only character for about 3 years. He'd make a cameo in anything serious I wrote now, but other than that I've kind of put him away aside from his two threads here. Writing other guys, like cam, was good.

Even if meesha doesn't like cam :|

Confirming this.

I don't really like any of my characters, in the sense of somebody I'd want to be friends with. Sure, they start out as people I think it would be cool to meet, but you know how characters run away from you; by the time they have significant paper presence they're either like people, or lifeless and need to be discarded.

Take Derin and Dirken, for instance. Derin was designed as sheer awesome and quickly became a misanthropic, insecure child with no social skills. Although at least she might be a little fun to hang around with for short periods of time; Dirken was modelled as a stereotypical "rogue with a [faked] heart of gold" conman and turned into a creepy idiot I wouldn't want to spend five minutes with.

Ceallach got a 26, but probably would get lower if I checked yes for serious mental disability. I didn't know if PTSD would count.

Persimmon got a 13 because she hates soap.

Dirk got... -1. This is a bit worriesome.

Would've been lower, but a moment's thought reminded me that a 'dirk' is indeed a weapon, thus losing a point. Never noticed that before.

Don't worry about it, like I said one of my characters got a -6 and when Joe tested Anja, the half-dwarf half-spider lady who lives in the sewers and forges magical weapons he got a -4. This test is just for fun and your score doesn't mean anything.
