Re: Scrapyard Engagement
I'll get up an intro post to this in the next day or two (maybe leaning towards two, as that's my day off, and I have to post for Leaf first!)

No prob. Feel free to create your own title.
Also, let me know what you think about making the plot open vs. closed.

Re: Scrapyard Engagement
I reckon we should keep it closed for starters, just because there'll be enough confusion of identity between the two of them. Probably room to open it up later.

Agreed.
Also, good work on the title.
The Fix -> The High.
I see what you did there.

Re: Scrapyard Engagement
Next three days are kinda crazy for me--my girlfriend is about to leave for four months, so we have various errands to run and engagements at which to put up appearances, and quality time to spend. I have a post half-written right now, but need to go out to a dinner thing. If I don't get a chance to finish tonight, then I'll do so tomorrow first thing!

I suck, sorry. It probably won't be until tomorrow, after she leaves, that I post.

Re: Scrapyard Engagement
Eh.. All I could find was some grammar issue. I am not entirely sure I improved on it.
Anyway, I was considering going ahead and introducing one of two plot arcs that I have for Daq, or potentially both.
1) [Leaning toward this one] Daq finds or observes the "poisonwood" box that he gave to Pagusel, regains a sliver of memory, and plans a trip to his home town in the hopes of recovering more.
2) Morax's mother visits him. This will need to happen while he is on drugs or unconscious or something because he actively disregards magic. She wants him to help Morax find his brothers (including Zapar, he has 6), remove their curse, and return them to her ('cos Momma Morax <3's her sons).
Also, I've decided to retcon the box that Daq gave to Pagusel, but I'm going to get admin approval before posting details.

Re: Scrapyard Engagement
M'kay. I just got approval for the retcon of the box:
Appearance:
The majority of the box is made of a dark brown wood with some black splotches and crimson streaks, the face of the box is a lighter, more uniform tan color, and the inlay (depicting a tree very similar to the one in the Thar Shaddin logo), latch, and hinges are silver.
Abilities:
More importantly, the box has two new properties.
First, if handled for more than 5 minutes with bare skin, an itchy rash will break out on the skin that came in contact with it. Continued exposure can cause painful chemical burns (2-3 hours), nausea, stomach cramps and vomiting (5-6 hours), and even anaphylaxis (24+ hours, though, practically speaking, no one would ever be able hold it for that long).
Second, any chemicals stored inside will gradually become more potent over time. This amplifies not only the positive effects of the reagent, but the negative ones, so that, in most cases, long storage makes the reagent worthless. A healing herb might, over a long time (months), grow strong enough to regenerate a severed limb if taken, but it would also become poisonous and cause organ failure as it is metabolized.
As a practical example of how the ability works, currently, the drugs kept in the box act like modern day prescription drugs, with the exception of the red (essentially tylenol) and the yellow (ecstasy like).
3-4 weeks from when Pagusel and Daq are currently meeting:
-the sedative drug will be strong enough to instantly render a normal man unconscious for 12-16 hours
-the stimulant will cause extreme hyperactivity and restlessness for 4-6 hours
-the anti-anxiety medication will cause utter indifference for 4-6 hours
-the focus-enhancing drug will cause someone to fall into an oblivious state for 4-6 hours (though it might be fruitful if someone was trying to focus on something for that long--like book detailing complicated research)
-the red pill will cause complete numbness for 1-2 hours
-the yellow pill will cause uncontrollable, euphoric muscle spasms for 1-2 hours
After another month, the sedative would put a person into a coma, the stimulant would cause severe heart arrhythmia, the red pill would cause total paralysis. The other drugs would cause temporary insanity that one might not recover from.
We'll just.. um.. Pretend that Daq hadn't been storing the drugs in the box until just before he gave it to Pagusel. And I think that 3-4 weeks of in-game time is enough, so that the zany effects of the pills won't affect our plot (unless we want them to).
With this change approved, I'd be leaning more toward plot-arc option #1.

Re: Scrapyard Engagement
Okay, fancy stuff!
Just to clarify, before I go on--Pagusel had draped her cloak over the hole in the closet where she's keeping her things. She only rummaged around under it to get the drugs just now, but it's still covered up. He won't likely happen to spot it unless he intentionally looks under the cloak.
So, Daq's home town is somewhere Austria-ish? I'm being lazy and not looking at the cover sheet.
But I'll go ahead and post, since there's no need to hold up or anything.

Re: Scrapyard Engagement
Right. I was planning to have him start hallucinating a bit and really focus in on that cloak covering the stores. I dunno if he will uncover it himself, or if he will simply demand to know what's behind it.
I'm unsure of Daq's hometown. Originally, I was planning to have it obscenely far north in Sweden or Norway, but Switzerland is starting to feel more and more appropriate.

Re: Scrapyard Engagement
1) Your latest post was really entertaining.
2) I might be a bit late with posting this week--hellish amounts of work, etc.
3) In the meantime (it won't influence Daq's actions at all), I just curious as to what you'd had in mind for Pagusel to mean with "You're not entirely empty."
