Hi. I'm new.

-sets down a case of beer, and for the underaged (read I'm too pretty to go to jail!) rootbeer, as offering.-

I'm also Carter, 23, female, with plenty of free time as I've got a quarter off college, and been RPing for, oh screw it I forget. 5,6,7 years or so. Cooperative fiction is a new name for it to me, but I'm sure I can get the hang of it. :P

I use the xD emotioncon far too often. I usually stick to medieval fantasy, slowly working on a steampunk RP of my own thanks to the nudging of online friends, but being a slacker in doing it. Oops. I have been a forum administrator for 4 years on one site, and looking for ... higher ... ground? The site I've been on the majority of my RP life is an all ages any skill level RP which has lately fallen into the realms of mediocrity. So I am bored with 50 word pots of crap in answer to my pretty character plots. Oh. and also. Dramadramadrama 'I'm better than you no I'm a better fighter, oh hey look admin she made fun of me emotear. etc.' :/

So I've been on the search for a new writing home. Found Thar through a listing my usual site is also on, Distant Fantasies Network. It seems most promising. :D Though in particular certain rules drew me in such as
"No Drama." and "Combat is not the primary goal of writing here." bits. I also loved the interpretation of magic origins. Astral planes? <3 Better than 'I put on my robe and wizard hat'.

Hmm. What else. I forgot. Anyways. Despite the length of my introduction thus far I am actually rather shy when starting somewhere new. Five years on the same site and being unable to escape attention no matter how hard I try does that I suppose. xP

Oh yeah. Character thingy. Kaywolf is a character who's rather adaptable to any setting so I use her when first starting a site. Especially with all the information of Thar. Even though I spent two days reading all of it, I still have much to learn. :P But once I get the hang of things I'll sure to have more characters to bring about and adjust. I have at least a hundred quips for character stored on my computer and 20 on one site alone. So ... yes ... I have too much time on my hands.

I'd like to introduce you to Saku, who also does XDD as some kind of double exclamation. You'll find her in chat.

I know distant fantasies. Artistic chardon used to be a little private writing site if I remember correctly. Then one day turned into more of an RP listing/hosting deal.

Well don't be afraid to PM people you may want to write with if you're shy about the setting. It's pretty lenient.

Hey everyone! :D So, I'm new here. That's why I'm posting here, haha.

I guess you can all call me Tarquin since that's the name I've chosen. I'm fairly new to RPing, so if anyone would like to help me get started and such, it would be very much appreciated. It's something that seems really interesting and I'd like to get involved with it, and this seemed like the appropriate place. Maybe my impression's wrong, but this seems like a very friendly, mostly relaxed place where I can develop my "cooperative fiction" writing skills and make some good friends.

I hope to meet many new people and get to know them well enough to call them friends.

Thank you for the nice welcomes :D

So my character is finally solidifying in my head, meaning its time to start putting it down into words. I'm wondering though: What exactly are the uh... guidelines? restrictions? requirements? as far as foreign characters go. I'm thinking Tarquin is going to be from Eyropa.

We've got characters from all over--Tsaikatlaua is from the South America portion of the world. Eyropa is also pretty diverse, with Mafia-type dealios in Keltaris and a shifter city up north. I'd say just write out what you have in mind on your character application and SiteGodFrug will give you the yay or nay.

And welcome to the board. It's a great place, stick around!

If you want to make a character from a part of the world that isn't described in the setting, check the world development forum and see if there's something about it in there. If not, we'd have to discuss what you want to say about the region in your profile. You have some freedom to make stuff up but it'll have to be reviewed.

Hey All! *Hugs*

Im pretty new and have been looking at this forum for a few days- Ive been RPING for like evers and was in the scene for a new board. My character Phoenix is a little bit odd- crazy actually would be the technical term and I look forward to running around the place giving ya'll hell! If anyone ever needs to be chased down with sharp pointing things or be set on fire, let me know- its actually nicer than it sounds :P.

Hi, all! :D I'm new to the site, and I'm very excited to be starting out here. It sounds like a good bored, and I already have ideas starting for my character. I've been roleplaying for about three years now, and I've been looking for a new board as I've sort of outgrown the one I've been on. But, yeah, I'm excited to get started! ...Even if Elsha isn't. She's a bit disagreeable, though. Don't mind her. :)

Oh, and yeah...I use way too many smilies. :)
