Player Name: Kibe
Name: Kibe Togoe (Key-BAY Toe-GO)
Age: 20
Race: Werewolf
Physical: In his human form he stands at 5’7” and weighs 165 pounds. His cinnamon skin is marked with scars; most prominent are the ones on his left arm and the one down his left eye. His body is slim and athletic looking and normally he wears simple black pants with a long sleeve white tunic. His hair is a dark brown (almost black) and is cropped very close to his head; it actually never grows past a 1/16 of an inch long.
In his lupine form he looks exactly like a large wolf standing five feet at the shoulder and heavily muscled in proportion. His fur is a tan colour that lightens slightly on his belly and lower legs.
In his werewolf form his fur remains the same only he gains the ability to walk on his hind legs and his paws become hands. His body also gains more bulk.
In any form he wears a stylized black collar around his neck.
Possessions: Just a set of lock picks kept in his boot so he doesn’t lose them when he shifts. He also wears a sort of collar around his neck. The collar is all black and has a small metal plate on the front with a magic symbol engraved in it.
Powers and Strengths:
Kibe's powers consist of lycanthropy, albeit a non-magical form. He can change into a lupine form, a Brown Wolf. In either form, Kibe has enhanced senses of hearing, sight, and smell; animal-like strength, agility, and reflexes; razor-sharp talons and fangs (The claws and teeth are not made of keratin, as claws tend to be in the animal kingdom, but extremely dense bone, and can cut substances as durable as most metals, wood, and some varieties of stone); and bestial instincts.
Kibe's senses of sight, smell, and hearing are all superhumanly acute. He can see with perfect clarity at greater distances than an ordinary human, even in near-total darkness. His hearing is enhanced in a similar manner, allowing him to both hear sounds ordinary humans can't and also hear to greater distances. Kibe is able to use his sense of smell to track targets by scent, even if the scent has been eroded somewhat over time by natural factors. This sense also allows him to identify shapeshifters and mages despite other forms they may take.
He is also a skilled at hand to hand combat against both armed and unarmed foes. While in Lupine form he has the ability to telepathically communicate with those in close vicinity to him. He is skilled in the basic essentials of theivery (sneaking around, lock picking, pickpocketing etc. etc.)
Weaknesses:
Kibe will sometimes lapse into a "berserker rage" while engaging in close combat. In this state he lashes out with the intensity and aggression of an enraged animal. Though he loathes it, he acknowledges that it has saved his life many times. Despite his apparent ease at taking lives, he does not enjoy killing or giving into his berserker rages. Kibe adheres to a firm code of personal honor and morality and in these rages he will kill with abandon anyone nearby which has caused him no end of mental problems and randomly occurring flash backs and authorities hunt him in some areas thinking he is an infectious werewolf.
“Blood Spikes” are points where the werewolf infection in his blood surges to the forefront (Normally at the behest of his Master). During these times his actions and personality became more violent and aggressive in his human form. During these he is also more vulnerable to silver and fire. He also becomes easier to detect to other shifter due to a potent pheromone he releases.
During his “blood spikes” which happen most often during the full moon but can happen any other time as well he becomes ‘hyper-sensitive’ to silver and just having it in his presence will disorient him, actual contact will burn him like any other werewolf and it will take his body longer to heal from them.
Emotionally he has a soft spot for women due to his dependence on his mother most of his life. A woman in distress or one putting on the appearance of being so is guaranteed his help.
When in his werewolf state, while becoming stronger, he is unable to control himself and is taken over by a split personality called The Wolf. This entity lives only to complete whatever task given it by his vampire master. When he tries to disobey compulsions from The Judges, certain Battlemages and especially Bela the collar around his neck causes him great discomfort.
History:
He was a rogue, a thief, a criminal, a murderer. He was all those things with the possibility of being so much more, but that was before he met Belatucadrus.
“What would do for true power?”
Kibe was born and raised in the Downtown or Marn. His father left his mother shortly after he was born and left her to raise him completely on her own. This led to a woman who worked nearly constantly to keep a roof over their head leaving her son to fend for himself most of the time.
As he grew older he fell in with a dangerous crowd, leading him to spend more and more time working for the riff-raff of Marn. He picked up on the more mundane skills of thieving such as lock picking and pick pocketing quickly and moved up in the ranks from a simple errand boy to a somewhat known footpad.
He didn’t kill a man until he was 18. He had gotten into several scuffles over the years, mostly due to his smart attitude and disregard for authority. He had even been hauled in the City Guard a couple times, times which his mother had been forced to pay his bail. But this time had been different and unexpected.
He had been training under a local martial artist by the name of Runi Skirata. But his teacher had already told him to be careful with his new found talents unless he was serious about hurting someone. So of course, being the young passionate man that he was, he went out that night and got into a drunken brawl at the nearest pub. In the ensuing fight he actually killed three men without thinking and injured seven more before the City Guard arrived Battlemages in tow. Kibe barely escaped with his life. In fear of capture and imprisonment he fled for his life.
After a week of slow travel due to his need for secrecy he finally reached the town of Shim. There he heard rumours of a mysterious manor containing beautiful paintings. So after scouting it out for a couple of days he decided to make his move. Not wanting to stay in the town long he snuck in on his third night in town. The Kaledin manor couldn’t have been any more of a bad idea. Kaledin manor is a horrible place for anyone to break into. The place is full of magics designed to confused, torture and trap anyone who breaks into the place, especially if they're crazy enough to go into the catacombs beneath it.
He was easily caught by the Manor’s owner, Belatucadrus and in exchange for his life being spared, he offered to become one of the vampires servants not knowing what that would entitle. A swirl of pure shadows enveloped him and suffocated him, entering his nose, mouth and eyes and squeezing until he was unconscious. For what felt like a week, Kibe's life consisted of brief flashes of consciousness during which he frequently experienced enough pain to cause him to lapse back into the blackness of sleep. He saw a room with walls that looked like they were alive, felt himself pinned by shackles to a stone table, saw and heard the pleading screams and death rattle of another man who was surrounded in wisps of magical light while a group of old men stood around him... Each time the vampire was there, silently observing and expressionless.
He awoke to find himself naked outside of the Manor gates. He arose and from there something compelled him to head back for Marn. So after stealing a new set of clothes, a funny story in itself, he made his way back to his home city. Once there something came over him and he shifted turning into the werewolf creature he had been having nightmares about since he left Shim. In his animal rage he slaughtered a noble (unknown to him the noble had been causing trouble for some of Belatucadrus’ enterprises so Kibe had been sent to deal with him) and was forced to flee the city again. From this point onward, he had something else inside his head that the Judges of Marn could compel to do what they want, like killing the nobleman. Most of the time, though, it is silent. The judges, and the battlemages alike, can use Kibe to spy by consulting their scryers and Bela can do it with simply his will alone.
For the next two years he travelled the country struggling to hold inside the beast that lay within him. Eventually he learned to control his inner wolf and incorporate it as a part of himself gaining the ability to turn into his fully lupine form at will. Thinking that his inner beast was under control he decided to head back to Marn to give life there another try.
