Name: Talionous Blackthorne, but he likes to be called Talion
Age: 17
Race: Elf
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 120 lbs
Appearance: He is short by elf standards standing only as tall as the average human female. Talion is very skinny and frail looking but don't let that fool you because he has a very sharp mind. He has the long limbs and narrow body that is very common among elves. With skin a pale, sickly white he appears as if a walking sun-bleached corpse. He has eyes the deep color of emeralds but when he heavily drugs himself they turn the color of amber and begin to glow. His hair is dark blue-black in color that hangs in a loose ponytail down his back. On his left forearm he has an old scar which has turned purple in color; he also has old cut marks on his arm though none are deep or life threatening. His nose has been recently broken and as a result he has taken to breathing in through his mouth. He has a small limp to his left leg, which is why he carries his walking stick with him everywhere.
He can be seen wearing an old pair of black light-weight leather pants that have been patched several times. He wears a dark, loose fitting linen shirt, with many stains on it (dried blood, vomit, urine, and food). Over that he wears a vest of a dark crimson color. A leather belt hangs from his waist to help hold up his pants. On his feet, he has an old pair of leather boots that match his pants.
Possessions: All his possessions were confiscated when he was arrested.
Strengths:
Intelligence: He has a very sharp mind and he has learned to hide it from others. However he is still young and doesn't always think rationally. At times his better judgement can be clouded in achieving short-term goals.
Keen senses: He can hear and see better then the average human and at times can even feel danger before it happens.
Some dagger skill: He can use a dagger if he is left with no other option but it is mostly used for collecting blood, mostly his own, to be used in some of his darker spells. [His dagger was taken upon arrest.]
Dark magic powers: He uses magic of a dark, evil, shadow-y variety. His magic is used to inflict pain and suffering as well and confuse his enemy.
Magic Powers:
Powersteal: He can steal magic from other beings to both feed his addiction to magic as well as slightly increase his power for a short time. This too can make his eyes change color. He can only use this ability once on any given magic user/magical creature. Powersteal will leave the target of the spell feeling woozy for several minutes and give Talion a sort of adrenaline rush; for him to use this spell he must have physical contact with his target. Powersteal leaves no permanent affects on anyone.
Shadowcloak: He can draw on nearby shadows to cloak himself from others who wish to harm him, this does not make him invisible just very hard to see unless you are looking directly at him and it doesn't work at all if the person he is trying to hide from watches him as he fades into the shadows.
Darksparks: He can shoot small dark sparks from his fingertips at an opponent up to a few yards away. To a target of this spell, it would feel like being mildly electrocuted.
Pain Touch: When he places his hands on a target he can inflict pain upon them but this drains a lot of energy from him and the stronger the pain is the weaker he becomes, when he removes his hands the pain stops.
Weaknesses:
Schizophrenia: Or so everyone believes because he talks to and sees demons that others do not. He spends a good deal of his time speaking with a voice in his head he calls Master. His demon companions spend much of their time belittling him and questioning his decisions. They have gotten him in trouble several times in the past but they are also the closest thing he has to any kind of 'friends' or 'family.'
Physically weak: He is very frail and could not hold his own in a fight without the use of his magic.
Not very trusting of others: He has learned not to fully trust in others because he was hurt in the past and doesn't want that to happen again. His family abandoned him rather than try to help him. His mentor died on him before he was old enough to fully take care of himself. Everywhere he has gone he has been treated like an outsider that doesn't belong, so he in turn has distanced himself from others so that they can no longer hurt him.
Bad addiction: Talion has a bad addiction to magic. He loves the feel he gets from drawing the power into himself. He loves the way it makes him feel strong, powerful, in control of his own actions. However, he has to hide this power. Instead of seeking out people to steal power from, he smokes his magical herb to get the same sort of rush even though it is less intense of a feeling then stealing magic from another being. Over time though, he has become dependent on the herb and goes through terrible withdrawals without it.
His herbs were taken from him when he was arrested and now he is going to have to look for a new source of magic or endure the pain that comes with living without it.
Curse of death: He believes that he is cursed and that anyone who gets close to him will die an untimely death.
History:
Poor Talion was doomed to a life of misery long before he was even born. You see, he was born one of a set of twins, a rare phenomenon among his elvan race. This seemingly miracle-to-be had drawn the attention of a very old and dark power. This power wished to corrupt the twins and twist them into the dark beings that it could use as if tools to do its evil bidding.
Their birth had been seen as a sign of hope and good luck among his people. They had been meet with much celebration but it was short lived. It had not taken his parents long to discover his strange powers. He would claim to hear and see things that the others did not. His mother had feared for his life and what would become of him. She had been a local priestess among the people and went in search of a cure to make him normal but was never to be seen again.
His father had been deeply saddened by the loss of his wife and had decided to take his own life one day while out hunting. With the loss of both parents the village had come to see the boys as a sign of bad luck and decided that they must be gotten rid of so as not to cause more harm. With no other living family that would take them in, the boys only had each other for company but that too was soon to change.
The village had decided to separate the boys and take them deep into the woods where they would be unable to find their way back. It was at this time that the hunter that lead Talion deep into the woods had turned on him; striking him in the back, Talion fell to the ground twisting his left leg underneath him. When the hunter had come at him with a dagger, he covered his face with his arm and received a nasty wound along his forearm. He let out a scream and closed his eyes hoping for a quick and painless death. Death did not come to him though, instead he heard the sounds of a struggle.
He opened his eyes to see that another elf, an old wizard had come out from the woods and was fighting with the hunter. The wizard had controlled the same sort of powers that Talion had but much more powerful. He watched as dark bolts of lightening shoot forth from the wizards hands hitting the hunter square in the chest. The hunter had stopped his attack as he fell to the ground, not dead but barely alive. Talion dragged himself over to the hunter and place his hands upon the man's chest. He would suffer for trying to kill him. As the hunter screamed in pain, the wizard studied the young boy, he would make a good apprentice.
For the next few years he studied with the wizard. He learned both of how to improve his powers and how to hide them from others. Both of which were needed if he were to survive in this cruel world. His training had been cut short though, the wizard too had died suddenly one day while in the middle of one of their lessons. With the loss of the wizard he was alone, not even his brother was here to comfort him this time. So he packed a few possessions of the wizards and decided to travel the world.
He left the Island of Darleone and headed East. Through the vast land of Eyropa and the harsh land of the Sooqui Plane, he traveled. Onward, ever to the East he went, his Master pushing him forward. What did he seek? What did he hope to find in this strange land?
It was in Marn that he stopped. He was short on his supply of the magic-enhancing herb that he had become addicted to during his time in Darleone. He was going to need a replacement to ease the pain he suffered. At first he had tried to obtain this replacement through legal means, but his efforts seemed to prove useless in this magic-hating town.
That was when he happened to find himself in the right place at the right time (or wrong depending on how you see the situation). He met up with a strange woman dressed in gold from a faraway land; she promised him drugs, gold, whatever he wanted, all he had to do was help her get he hands on a book that was already hers. How hard could that be?
After a day spent in a drugged haze, a young girl was killed, his face had been broken and Talion found himself locked behind bars for attempting to break into a government building. It was then that he was given a choice, he could spend the rest of his days locked in a dark basement or work for the mysterious Judges.
