I thought I read something about people being able to write more of their character's history. Did I or am I just suffering from lack of sleep?
If I did read that... expound?
Did somebody say character histories?

Re: Did somebody say character histories?
Do you mean expanding upon characters who've already been approved and such?

You might be thinking of the alternate realities thread, too. If you want to start an AR thread, you can write anything you want - including delving into character history that just plain won't be shown in the regular canon writing.

Frug,
Yes, expanding on characters that are already approved.
Jen, Yeah, I think it was in the A/R thread. But, I don't mean alternate reality, but actual history in context of the setting. Is that what you're talking about, as well? For example, Ree has lived in Marn her whole life. I included early history, but nothing in between early history and current info in her profile.

Re: Did somebody say character histories?
Like how i threw a random back-story in there (Night Before Marn) ? I was assuming that was a-ok, it was something that really happened (not AR) but something that was past, to help relate my char to the present. Since I haven't heard any upheaval since then, I take it that it was approved to be there, in that form.

Re: Did somebody say character histories?
Yep
AR threads can be AR in the sense of a different timeframe, as well. Jas's is a perfect example.

Adding to a character's history later is perfectly fine.
Even re-writing parts is alright too. If you don't like something, and don't mind the idea of editing something up, you're free to do so. Histories can be interesting to explore once you know your character better. I've edited Chris' three times since the forums opened :\
You just have to ask for the profile to get moved back and unlocked, which you can do at any time.
Edit: I don't consider AR stuff ever, since it's not canon. Anything goes there.
