Death to the over thirties...?

Yeah, so anyway. I read in a newspaper, or online somewhere, or something... I'm going to die by the time I'm thirty.

Apparently it has something to do with the amount I smoke, the fact that I don't drink (much), the stress, and just generally being unhealthy. Also I don't eat enough and as a result my BMI is 16.3 as of this morning.

Seriously, my gf read the same thing, I think it was some sort of test or something, and got the same result. Dead by thirty. Which in her case is only five years.

This got me wondering, after a few of my friends, family, accuaintances and random people I stopped in the street took the test... after staring at me oddly for a few minutes... and got the same result - dead by thirty.

Is this a new wave of counter-thirty-one-ism? Is it the particular newspaper's way of saying "we don't like over thirties"? I doubt it's really accurate, although I do need to fix my lifestyle somewhat... as do most of the people I asked to take the damn test.

However, I have uncovered a vital secret. It's not about whether you smoke. Drinking is irrelevant, as is how much or indeed what you eat.

What will REALLY kill you before you're thirty is going up to random people and telling them they'll be dead by thirty. Damn my jaw aches.

It sounds like an article to scare people into changing their habits, but the results are skewed. So everyone gets the same result, and all feel pressured to change.
