Latest news thing from RPG new worlds project

Dear Friends,



New Worlds Project is going to be applying for funding in the U.S. for a project seeking to create a digital Model UN using the play-by-post method.

One of the optional requirements of the application is the ability to solicit recommendation letters from experts in the field who can certify that what we are proposing is significant.



I was wondering if we could count on you to write such a letter on behalf of our project… The deadline for the recommendation would be the 18th October 2007.

Those of you who have been at thar for a while might know what the new worlds project is. They have been pushing to get play by post writing recognized as an educational tool. They have put a sort of business spin on things but Kim and his team have done it in a way that I approve of. They do good work, they make PbP RPers like us look good, and I'll be writing him this letter thing.

Oh... uh to answer the other question, they're only allowed to have up to 3 letters so they wouldn't accept another.

Hey, I used to roleplay on New Worlds!!! That was over 5 years ago, I went by the alias "Vane Atonis" aboard the botany bay! I dropped out of RP for a long time, and I haven't been back since. Is there some connection between New Worlds and Thar Shaddin, besides the fact that they're both awesome?

Nercrophilia is bad, mkaaaay.

It's a shame new worlds never achieved what they wanted, because that place deserved some recognition far more than some big places do. They're still around but last i heard from Kim he said it was struggling.
