Physical Description: Ian Foster is moderately tall and well built. He has black hair combed back into a tail revealing a slightly uneven hairline. Just below are two wrinkles in his forehead that disappear during certain facial expressions. Ian has thick black eyebrows but keeps his face clean-shaven as he can. His nose is just one iota larger than average, he has a clefted chin. This face lays on a large head which rests on broad shoulders. His ponytail reaches only a couple of inches past his collar. Ian is not a small man but not particularly large, horizontally. He wears plain clothing; some dark brown pants, a gray shirt, a black jacket.

Ian has lived in Shim all of his life and although he is extremely intelligent he spent his days as a hired hand mostly for only one or two regular employers. Working on commission wasn't keeping him well fed so he hunted when he wasn't doing others' chores. Now, though, his regular employers will not pay him what he thinks he's worth so he's decided to turn to Marm where he hopes there is more work that pays appropriately.
