Ahhh, that was wholly my bad for not talking oocly with you about the stuff in my head. I had started thinking about how mages would be organized in Corezo, and ranked. I figure that because they are so open with magic it would function as any other skill. Therefore those that are more useful would be more likely to be tracked -- in my mind I was thinking that any healer with competency would be licensed in some manner, or at the least on the radar, the same way doctors are. In the same vein, because they are so trade focused, I would think weather mages would also have some sort of trade union, but less focused. Still a major talent, still kept track of, but not as much. I think of it that because weather is so complicated, and the body is so complicated, that the majority of time these mages will need training of some kind or registration (though all magic works differently, still). Hence, they're on the radar. So by telling him to see a hedge witch she'd basically telling him to visit a back alley doctor, someone whose skills are probably not the best but nonetheless will not be notable.

With someone who can manipulate sound and do misdirection, I was thinking that's a lesser skill. Still very useful to the families, but imo also something where someone might be able to figure it out, kinda, on their own. Enough that while there are doubtless registered/licensed magic users with this talent who hire out, there are also likely to be backstreet talents who are relatively unknown.

I am really sorry I didn't actually state this anywhere or bring it up to see what your thoughts were on it and whether you disagreed or not. I BLAME MIDTERMS.
