Slice of Life

Post by The Raven Basilards » Thu Feb 20, 2014 4:52 am

Availability: Open upon asking

Posting Speed: Standard

Characters Involved: The Raven Basilard, Talia Idris, Drayel Morig

Thread starting date: 122PW, Spring (Post-Gala)

Location: Downtown & Business District

Summary: The Basilard has been forgetting to eat for the past few days, that silly knife. Good thing there is a friendly, magically inclined baker nearby!

Other Notes: I'm a knife and I'll stab you. There are a few other players who might have things to say about this, so we'll wait a couple days.

“Well, obviously we have a STABBIST in Bepa's Buns. He’s knifin’ in your windows, he’s snatchin’ your bakers up, tryin’ to stab ‘em. So y’all need to hide your breads, hide your buns, and hide your doughnuts cause they’re stabbin’ everybody out here

And we're off. The basilard decided not to risk trying to learn how to make his newfound tongue and lips flap such that the appropriate noises come out. It contacted Talia telepathically through the wall. Have fun dealing with a sudden voice in your head!

We need to figure out what our next course of action is since Tal and the basilard don't fully trust each other. I was hoping to catch you in chat sometime but then I poofed for a bit.

Any ideas? Should I have Talia go running to one of her many friends for advice (she needs more girl friends....) or shall we place her under house arrest?

If Talia leaves I stuggle to see why the basilard would stick around. Since she is a declared puradyne and plainly scared of it, I would think the basilard would assume that she is running off to get it turned over to the government.

Drayel is available for you if he's needed. :)

Following up on the events of the gala, Tius is also available.

We discussed the option of him calling over the following day to check in on Talia, but I'm open to all options.

To put it in more detail some ideas we discussed

a) that night (if Drayel ends up leaving) or the following Talia goes out for a walk to try and calm her mind because she can't sleep. Perhaps she runs into some unsavory characters or naughty part of town (gosh this girl has a knack for getting into trouble!) and Tius save her or perhaps they just happen to bump into each other at the university gardens

b) Tius shows up to 'buy bread' and notices that Talia looks stressed/over-tired. Something or other happens from that.

c) Talia decides to get away from everything for a bit and decides to get her necklace appraised at Tius' place of employment which will probably lead to her finding out about her loveless family (which we decided would be from the Katona line)

the main issue will be what is Drayel up to? He is going to place himself as Talia's personal guard, just hang around or poof until she calls for him again?

We could go with a combination of the three, I suppose. After a long day at the office, Tius is on his way home and passes by the bakery. Seeing a disturbance, he decides to call in to see if Talia is alright and invites her for a stroll to clear her mind.

Unless he sees the basilard, or at least the light from it, chances are there isn't really a disturbance for Tius to notice. It will still be early eveningish - I would say probably around 8/9? (don't want it to be too late just in case of there being a curfew after the gala) And currently Drayel is still around so we have to figure out what he is up too

Well, he could probably see the boy leaving alright, but I'm ok to wait if you are.

Just in case it needed saying, Talia is free to tell Tius whatever she wants to about the basilard, if she actually feels like it.

However, I'd like to point out that, assuming Tius was heading to Talia's intentionally rather than just aimlessly wandering the streets at night, it is unlikely he would see the basilard-child leave. It left through the alley behind the bakery, and if Tius is going to Talia's I would assume he is approaching from the front.

Since it found the scenario suspicious, it would naturally want to avoid further attention. Considering its ability to sense minds, it shouldn't be to difficult for it to avoid an aristocrat who has no reason to suspect anything amiss.

At best, I think he would catch a flicker of light from a distance away from the resurrection, assuming you do decide he arrives tonight at all. I can't help but wonder why he thinks it is a good idea to wander to a baker's place well past closing time. And it should be well past closing time: Talia went all the way to Shim and back, and the sun was setting when we started.

The idea would be that he's been working all hours since the gala and it was on his way home. I chalk it up to idle curiosity at seeing the lights on. Its amazing how even the smallest flicker of light can show up in darkness, and with the way the city is after the bombings people would be watching.

The general gist of it, though, is that if we go with Tius showing up that night, I can post right away and we can carry Drayel for a bit. Otherwise we keep waiting.

Sorry Sorry!

If you want to use another guard, Drayel would leave if he was asked to go but only after he made sure Talia would be safe. Mind you, he'd probably still check in or be ready if the word went out for his aid. I will work with whatever you guys decide. I know I'm not on quite a bit so if you're looking for a faster threading, I'll quietly step out until you guys need a brute to go on a rampage XD
