A happy aside

Post by Yyan » Sat Jun 06, 2009 7:32 pm

Despite the sad news that seems to be more pervasive of late, I do have a bit of happy stuff to report.

My husband Jon and I have completed our first manuscript, titled Interphase, in the science fantasy genre. Final polishing is being conducted, and next step is to shop around for a literary agent. Hehe, so, on the offchance that y'all here know anyone looking for new submissions by unpublished writers, feel free to let us know!

I dunno anyone taking submissions, but I guess there are magazines around that take short stories? Unless it's a full novel.

My advice is predictable: Add more lasers. Add more robots. Add more exposed breasts. Profit.

Congratulations!

And also: Frug, I read 'exposed breasts' as 'explosive breasts.' How's that for some action!?

When I read your suggestions to Jon, Frug, we both lol'd and nodded. When I read the "explosive breasts" comment at work, I nearly spit tea across the room!

And yes, it is a full-length novel. About 156,000 words too... writing a synopsis for this puppy is making me cry!

release a version in PDF for us or die.

Also, describing the breasts as huge, heaving, maybe even looking as though they might burst out of her top is good... But explosive is going too far. I'm not sure literally exploding is really that arousing.

Although maybe...

Belated congrats Xeis! I won't even dignify this thread by contributing to the hijack...

pffft, you're just jealous because you've never seen exploding breasts before.
Wisdom begins in wonder, whereas ignorance begins in a will to change things. Our will is a function regulated by reflection; hence it is dependent on the quality of that reflection. And mortal reflections will never match infinite wonder.
