So I finally got a picture of my tattoo, and I thought I'd share. It's been like two or three months since I got it, but I haven't had a chance or a way to take a picture until now. I know it's a crappy pic, but here it is.

So, does anyone else have tattoos or am I the only "creepy-kid" here.

I don't have one but 2 people who have sat next to me so far at work have both been very big into tattoo's...one was going to enter one he had on his back in some contest.
The person who sits next to me now says she has a total of 12 tattoo's over her body...

I don't want to just because I'm not consistant in what I like. Nothing against them its just I don't want to spend tons of money and deal with pain for something next month I'm not going to want.

Two tattoos, one on either shoulder. One of a dragon in full prey-dive, and one of a dragon taking a bite out of the Superman insignia.

My mother has about a half dozen tattoos. Of course, she used to date a guy who knew a tattoo artist really well.

Well, another body mod question. Anyone else have extra holes in their head. I've got a labret (lip ring) and both of my ear lobes are stretched to a 0 gauge (about as big around as your average pencil).

I don't have a tattoo, but my brother has several. He's got 10, I believe. he wanted to get the ones on his shoulders extended, but he couldn't because he's in the Coast Guard and they've got dress uniforms that are t-shirts (that style of sleeve, anyway), and the people high up on the chain of command don't like tattoos on their Guards beyond the shoulder.

I agree with Cody, though. Too inconsistant in what I like.

But yours are really cool, Drake. And yours sound awesome too, Kamar. Bite out of the Superman insignia? Wonderful.

I really want a tattoo still, and I'm old enough... but no money for it! And I'm not sure what I want first. I've been thinking about it for years tho

No worries, Drake, tattoos don't only belong to creepy kids! You could also identify with 'tribal' ringed frat boys. Or ladies with their names in Sanskrit on the bitch spot. Oh and for the record--sorry if I'm like totally insulting someone's existing tattoo--getting Chinese characters tattooed on you IS TOTALLY the Western equivalent of Engrish. Yes, you know what I mean--how it's funny that Asian imported products sometimes have phrases like "new deliciousfull candyfood!" emblazoned on them, or how Asians wear t-shirts with bizarre English phrases on them. Yeah, getting a character tattooed onto your body is totally the equivalent. Just remember that characters in a language aren't just symbols full of meaning--they're straight-up words. It's just like getting a word tattooed onto you, with plenty of room for error in the translation. I had to tell my bartender recently that his tattoo he said meant 'heartache' actually is a word for 'winter.' It's a good idea to tip well after a bomb like that.

As for personal tattoos, I have one, and it's pretty small and well hidden. My oldest younger sister has the Bat Sign tattooed on her bitch spot, which is pretty delightful.

I've wanted to get a tat for a while now. I've been holding out for two reasons. The main reason is that for something permanent like that, I want to be absolutely sure I'll still want what I'm thinking about getting. The last thing I need is to change my mind after the fact.

Also, I'm so scrawny right now, if I ever manage to gain weight I don't want it all stretching, so I'm waiting until this happens. If it happens.

I would get a tattoo if:

A. I had time
B. I had the money
C. I had time
D. I could honestly put up with MORE pain
E. I had time
F. I knew ANYONE reasonably skilled whom I would allow within ten feet of me wielding a needle
G. I had time

Um.... also, I just don't think I've got the time. I should put that on the list somewhere...

I've already designed the tattoos I want when I have the money/find someone I trust enough. But I'm wavering on work-related grounds... I act, so having unusual things you can't change isn't usually a good thing.

If you can't pick a permanent (like me).... maybe try playing with henna.

It can last for several weeks if it sets really well on your skin.

I had shooting stars across my shoulders for Dragon Con a couple years ago and they lasted a few weeks.

Ah yes. Another reason not to get a permanent tat.

I'm 19 now. How is it going to look in 20 years? 40? when my skin is all wrinkled will it still look as good as it ever did?

I doubt it.

I think if I ever get a tattoo it would have to be one I designed myself, but I change my mind too much to really decide. A friend of mine came back from India with henna last year, and we tried that. It's definitely the best for people who can't commit. xD

I wanted to get my labret pierced but work would never allow. That and I don't think I'd ever be able to visit my mother without her giving me hell for it.

Anyway. Drake, awesome tat. How long did it take? Did it hurt?

In response to Zebren's comment, I DON"T GIVE A DAMN!! Also 19 now, and when I'm 30 it'll still look good, when I'm 40 it'll still look decent, and when I'm 50 I'll just be a dried up and decrepit demon instead of a young and able-bodied one.

For Laor: Yes, it hurt like hell, but that's because I let a talented friend do it, but he didn't have any of the "numbing" gel. And as for the time, I was a wimp so it took about three hours.

Yeah, I don't get that argument. When you're 70 that tattoo won't look great, but neither will untattooed 70-year-old skin. You'll just look like a cool 70-year-old.

Besides, when it comes to the design I have in mind, if future me doesn't want it, then future me is a stuffy prick who deserves everything I'm doing to her.
