They were no doubt brought over here by some rich American, or such. Like England did to many countries when we owned half the world no doubt (i.e. rabbits in Australia).

I really like red squirrels. Shame. :(

I'll have you know she's Canadian.

And traitorous. She was eating out of the hand of my next door neighbor today. :(

Better than Cane toads... Gross...

I love squirrels except when they are stealing the fruit off my loquat tree in the spring... then they are "Hairy Tree-Rats"... but after the 2-3 week fruit season they go back to "awww how cute!"

No, then she'd be running away.

What the hang is a Loquat tree? I want one.

I guess that's out of the question then :(

I heard squirrels eat fruits but I'm not sure what kind she'd eat. So far I've determined that she hates sweet things. Won't touch those sesame snaps candies, which I thought squirrels would love. She'll eat triscuit crackers, but reluctantly.

That was squirrel is precious...the only time I see them that friendly is at amusement parks, zoos...and such. Where theres food everywhere and every other person tries to shove it in their face.

Poor little red squirrels. I can't seem to find how/why it was introduced anywhere, though. I'm suspecting some asshole released his pets, but it doesn't say anywhere. I can't imagine a wealthy American family having squirrels for pets. They're nto really considered exotic. More like "stop eating the birdseed" pests.

I think they're adorable, but also spastic and vaguely annoying. Cherub is very cute, though. Does she twitch a lot?

Nah. The black ones are leaner and more twitchy like I said. Cherub will flick her tail when she's playing around and stuff, but she's not on crack like so many others.

She came into the house today. I tried to shoo her out but she kept thinking I was trying to give her food or something. Then she bumped into the big glass window. Again. I think she hates that window but is starting to understand it.

Evidently she, like you, believes glass to be impossible?

No. I mean, light goes right through it with no problem, but it's entirely solid otherwise. That pisses me off. Water you can at least put your hand through, although it still is quite substantial and very dense. Water is just highly unlikely. But glass? Impossible.
