Brainwave!

I had an idea for a character I thought would be interesting. A magic-hunter, someone who hunts anything supernatural. Not exactly original, but I thought it would be fun. As far as I know (ahem... 'much as a I pay attention' more like) we don't have anyone like that.
But then, I thought I had too many characters already, and they're just sitting around. Making a totally new one might be pushing it. So then, I had a brainwave: I could make Asiona into this person! She's still young, but I could go on a plot to morph her. She's quite boring to me right now because I haven't developed her much yet, or really had the chance.
Anyone have a character up to go on an (probably very traumatic) adventure? Asiona wouldn't become someone like I'm thinking of very lightly

If you truly need a new thread to get involved in, one possibility would be a temporary appearance in our new thread. Not sure what use Asiona would be, or how she would fit in amongst a band of warriors, but her presence would be accepted so long as she does not get in the way.
Of course, if you wish to traumatise Asiona, Phelan would be willing to oblige. And in a way to poison her view of the supernatural.

I might be way off base here, as Fruggles would know better, but someone like that would probably be employed by the city guard or involved with them in some way. What with magic being illegal and all.

Although they would have to be able to cooperate with the battlemages.

Way-back-when (has it only been six months?), I remember saying that I thought it would be cool if Julen met Asiona, and I still think that.
It seems clear to me that Mavelle and Asiona would know each other, since they're both from wealthy merchant families. So that could explain Asiona's presence. Mavelle might have sent Asiona to learn certain things, or Mavelle's mention of Railtus and his activities may have simply stirred Asiona's curiosity and spurred her to act on her own.
Certainly, anyone forming a bond with Railtus or Julen is opening themselves up to the possibility of traumatic adventures, since they both have powerful enemies and are likely to make more.
I'd love to see Julen get in a situation that really pushes him to his mental/physical limits. But I can't do anything to jeapordize the storylines Railtus and I already have going, so we'd have to see...

Hey, I got a good response! Thanks guys

I would love to get involved with your thread(s) still, it seems like a great plot. I'll have to try to read all of it

Perhaps we could start with Asiona visiting Mavelle and discussing Railtus, and perhaps even have Railtus show up?
And Jen, yeah, she would most likely be employed by the judges etc at some point, once she gets the powers. One step at a time though, I have no idea how that would happen

Just to point out, it would be wise to keep Lateus well away from the Sword of Heaven. Between Sense Evil & Hungered After, I sense no peaceful outcome.

Great! I'd be happy to play Mavelle in a scene between her and Asiona. Would you like me to start the thread or would you like to? (If they're meeting at House Anstrun, it would be in the Residential District.)
A couple of notes. Mavelle can't know about Asiona's magic. We've been building up for the revelation of Railtus's powers to be a bit of a freak-out for her, and that obviously won't be the case if she realizes Asiona is a mage.
As long as he doesn't know Laetus's true nature, Julen is likely to be fairly accepting of him. But, as Railtus pointed out, any meeting between Angelsworn and demon is certain to get messy. I'm not saying it shouldn't happen, since it could well be an interesting plot development. But it's probably best saved for later.
Yay! Welcome aboard.

Espescially life-draining demons, who go crazy at his presence. A bigger problem would be that the first sign of demonology would be reported to the Justice Hall.
A few points for development.
- Part of being an Angelsworn involves a celestial pact, which is best done through meeting an angel. A trip outside the city to summon an angel could be an idea. That is something I
definately want to explore.
- Second, being part-angel could cause partial vulnerability to summoning & binding spells like those used by Asiona. Just a thought to throw out there.

Yeah, Lateus is gonna need to stay locked in the tower if there's a holy guy running around with Asiona. He would probably love to get his hands on a tasty snack like Railtus, and Asiona wouldn't be too impressed with that idea

I wonder if Railtus could sense the connection she has with him, however? Part of his, um, 'essence' if you will, goes through her. It might not be enough to notice, though. Or only when Lateus is actively reading her mind.
Asiona could most definitely try to summon an angel, though I can already foresee complications. She isn't the most practiced person, and with a demon already channeling through her an angel would probably fight them both. We'll have to see
Don't worry about Mavelle learning about Asiona's powers. She doesn't let anyone know except fellow rogue mages. Julen and Railtus would have to find out some other way.
Go ahead and start it, since you know the setting better. I figure they'd be having a friendly chat, perhaps while her father talks with Lord Kendall. Or she could be arriving. Up to you

Technically, Julen is a rogue mage, since he's got magical abilities he hasn't reported to the proper authorities. Although he is planning on doing something about that...
I went ahead and started a thread in the Residential District ("A Friendly Chat"). Since I was setting the scene, I took the liberty of writing a little about what Asiona was doing -- I tried to keep it in character, but if you want any changes, just let me know.
